Hello friends, Bobby Torkova here! I'm thinking of posting a video about how I got on Fool Us and my experiences with the show. Is this something you would be interested in seeing? Let me know your thoughts! Thanks!
Absolutely Bobby! Tell us :) I think I speak for everyone here when I say you seem like a great guy and we loved your act. Well done mate from the UK 🇬🇧
I'll second that!! I've seen a couple I knew (and later confirmed) that were done SO flawlessly they really should have received more than a "Wow... nicely done" comment. At least more than what any other "attemptee"(? -er?) might receive. Mr. Torkova seemed perfectly satisfied with his performance and P&T's response and I'm happy for him. But I think many viewers felt he deserved at least a little more.
The blue scarf drop was absolutely brilliant, but there was another great bit at the beginning, and I'm surprised Penn didn't mention it: the scarf with the hole in it that EVERYBODY thought you were going to restore, but instead vanished. I love magic tricks where totally unexpected things happens.
I have a stutter and I often have let it control my life. Like not taking jobs that involve a lot of talking, barely talking on the phone, dating, etc. I've gotten a bit better with it over the years but it's still there. Seeing someone with a stutter on stage makes me want to pursue things that I let go because of my own stutter. Amazing show!
@@myjourneyinmagic It made my night to see you reply to him, Merry Christmas, now I feel inspired, too. That was really nice, a class act on and off the stage.
There are so many acts that come on the show showing a trick they've worked years to develop just to show one time in hopes of winning that trophy. Then there's beautiful entertainment and no one cares if they won a trophy or not, they thrilled everyone. Bobby epitomizes that. Simply beautiful.
I smiled the whole time and enjoyed the whole routine. Ditto to everyone on the fact that you were one step ahead of me with the dropped handkerchief. Thank you for this wonderful performance.
My most beloved grandma passed away a few years ago. Seeing your smile reminds me so much of her. So loving, so playful, so childlike, so kind and so pleasant. Your smile puts a smile on my face, not only because it reminds me of my late grandma, but also because I can sense the sincerity in it. Please be safe, be always happy and healthy. Thank you for the joy you brought me today.
A classy routine that could have been performed 100 years ago and could be done 100 years in the future. One of the reasons I like this show is that even if they know how the trick is done, Penn & Teller are always polite, complimentary and congratulate the performers
Just watching Penn and Tellars reaction to everyone, it's clear they are in love with their craft. It was pretty obvious they were going to know how this was done but no magician is going to turn down the opportunity to perform in front of such legends of the industry.
When you dropped the blue kerchief I really thought it was an accident and I was genuinely surprised to find out it was on purpose, well done. Fooled me!
Of course they were going to know this one, it's almost as old as magic itself. Just like everyone knows the song "Happy Birthday," but, get a truly great singer to sing it, it turns into something special. That's what this guy did, he took something familiar and turned it into a thing of beauty. It reminded me of why I like magic so much.
You went into it full well knowing you wouldn't fool them, but you put on an excellent show anyway. Such an stylish and entertaining routine. Pure class.
I've had a stutter since I can remember. For the longest time it gave me a crippling fear of speaking in front of people, especially in school or around girls. Love that someone like me ended up performing and entertaining people. Loved the act!
This is one of the better acts ever performed on Fool Us. They may have known how he did it, but the act is no less a thing of beauty. Hope to see Mr. Torkova perform live one day.
Wow that’s showmanship! I truly thought that the blue handkerchief really fell by accident and only a great performer can pull that off. And the whole act was so nicely timed and tidy. I loved it and I’m usually now one for classical silk magic. But it was refreshing seeing some “old” again and being performed so incredible well!
This act brought such an innocent smile to my face. I had absolutely no idea how the trick was done, but that’s only half of it. The music, the mannerisms, the performance itself was just full of that carefree creativity that I remember from being a child. It’s almost looney-tunes like, the instructions and the paper; I was absolutely able to believe that that sheet of paper made flags out of scarves. Not just in the magic, but in the context of the performance. I love this act :)
what a wonderful routine! i absolutely love the old-timey feel, it's like you traveled through time just to show it to us! it's so easy to tell how much you enjoy entertaining people.
There is something so inherently charming about a "classic" magic routine. It almost makes you nostalgic for things you weren't around for; I can picture you doing this exact routine in a vaudeville show, even though I'm fairly certain that you, me, and everyone here on RUclips is far too young to have ever seen a real vaudeville act.
Thank you, I'm a big fan of classical magic. And yes, Vaudeville was pretty much over by the time I was born. Would have liked to see it though, especially with some of the great magicians of that era!
I just concluded I'd rather watch a brilliant storyteller do a trick I can see through as opposed to being fooled by someone without any degree of showmanship. Stellar performance!
It wouldn't matter if I knew how he was doing anything. I felt like I went back in time and that would make it worth the price of admission and more. Such a beautiful act. Such a sweetheart!
I love that every so often a magician comes on to just put on a great act, knowing full well it’s not going to trick Penn and Teller. He’s not the first, but he sure was my favorite. Bravo sir.
This was so great. After a quarter a way into the trick I stopped trying to figure out and just sat back and enjoyed the show. It's so rare that people manage that on this show.
This was a perfect performance with great music and great story telling. I feel like i was transported to a different era and experiencing magic for the first time.
In terms of just sheer entertainment value, that was one of the best performances on the show. I smiled throughout the whole thing and got some good laughs too.
This is so classy and good. Showed this to my 5 year old who has fright of speaking. He now has an idol to look up to and wants to become a magician. Thank you for being an inspiration and an entertainer.
I've seen countless routines on years of Fool Us and of course for decades before that. This was a beautiful, classic and original routine that I thoroughly enjoyed. So well executed and performed. What a pleasure!
When I saw the white, green and orange silks, I was thinking you would make an Irish flag and when just the red and white silks went in the "tube", I was hoping for a Canadian flag to appear. Still, absolutely beautiful.

This is what I love about the show, you absolutely don’t need to fool them to put on an amazing act. The fool is really just a bonus, we all got to see an amazing show from a spectacular magician we might not otherwise have gotten to see. Bravo! 🙌
Yeah, there are no losers here. The audience gets an amazing show one way or the other, and P&T get to see a tried & true trick they know in & out done *exceptionally* well, or they get to see something done equally well that they can't quite figure out. It's a perfect system, and the magician is either a well-respected performer prior to the show, or an up-and-comer who gets a priceless amount of free publicity and eyes on them that have lead to *many* successful gigs and even careers. And, as icing on the cake, the magicians get to put up their performance on RUclips after it airs, no ifs' and or buts'. Everyone gets to look good. It's a truly wonderful set up.
I thought about it the whole time, The music, the act, the showmanship - just Classic. and then Penn said so as well. I said it once and I'll say it again: Its not about fooling, anyone could think about some mechanical/digital stuff and do it. But this is all about how beautiful this art is, and sharing it to everyone. Also, making little less known performers - more known after the acts. I tell ya every time I see a classic act I remind the time when I was a little kid and my grandpa would do tricks to me all the time. I cant remember a lot, I just remember the feeling. So thank you for bringing this feeling back now. Very well done sir!
Guys, girls, hear me out. It was a classic trick. That means there was not so much high tech involved at all. Which indicates that he actually hired some tiny tailor dolls that were activated by a spring or something. When he put the fabric inside the tube, the dolls started making the flag. This is why he had to put it in and show the steps so many times, because the dolls aren't that quick. Nowadays you have battery operated tailor dolls that work quicker, but he wanted to stay in his roots.
I've watched so many people on Penn and Teller, even though you didn't fool them you seem like such a kind soul I truly hope your career continues to be a success! You've got this very mild mannered demeanor that just makes me want to cheer for you even though I don't usually like classic magic the way you presented it was just.. happy and warm. :)

Well you fooled ME!! Great stuff sir! 👌👍😊I loved the music, the whole Classic - America 🇺🇸 from the 40’s, big band / swing era and you are such a gentleman 😎👍
Never stop my friend!! You put smiles on SO MANY PPL’S FACES!!! 👏👏👏
I’m a new subscriber in 🇨🇦☺️
That was a really fun trick. Really enjoyed it.
Am go glad you did, thank you.
What a wonderful magician, a wonderful routine, and a wonderful man. Awesome job Sir.
Thank you very much, Jeff!
Puting yourself in face of your fears is the mark of true bravery, great performance, great trick and enjoyable to watch.
Thanks very much, I appreicatie it.
Thank you very much, I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
LOVE the way this is set up like an old silent film, what a cool bit!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks very much, I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
LOL
I've watched so many people on Penn and Teller, even though you didn't fool them you seem like such a kind soul I truly hope your career continues to be a success! You've got this very mild mannered demeanor that just makes me want to cheer for you even though I don't usually like classic magic the way you presented it was just.. happy and warm. :)
sooo classic. And sooo classy. I know exactly how it is done but it is done so beautifully. Fooling 1/10, entertainment 42/10. Awesome job
Thanks very much!
Like Allison said... I could watch this every 4th of July👍
