Likewise, it is the habitat of many domestic and wild species where the majority of the university community (and the Cali community in general) does not know that these species contribute to a natural balance within the ecosystem in which they are.
Particularly, opossums (a species of mammals) tend to be rejected for aesthetic reasons that are deeply rooted in society and with which a deformed vision of this species is generated. As a result, its role in the ecosystem and its great value as an icon of Colombian biodiversity is ignored as it is one of the oldest mammals on the planet.
