My favorite RUclips channel about surfboards. Thanks for making the long episodes. Love the long content. Looking forward to riding my Revo Max next week with the Tomo Max Keels. I’ve surfed it three times and like it a lot, it’s very smooth down the line…
Super nice compliment, much appreciated as I know there's lots of good stuff out there. Your welcome and I agree - long content is not dead and we much prevail lol. Big fan of 2-3 hours podcasts - once I hit the hour/hour and a half my voice starts to go - those people make it look easy. The down the line-ness of the Revo Max is great, spot on. Nice you've already gotten some time on it. Tomo's keels are sweet as. Have fun on the board and thanks again.
I'm going to my local surf shop this weekend to pick up a 7-0 Revo Max.....it's the last one they have and have it set aside for me! Your reviews helped me decide to get one! Thanks!
Nice that's really cool they are holding, yea the 7'0 looks awesome I'd love to try one. Again glad my review could help and it will be a great glider.
Lost made an elliptical outline like this years ago called the Lazy Toy. Real Water Sports still sell them. I think the quad concave, I-bolic and as a twin brings this shape to another level.
Yea, Lost has a similar board model I've seen too called the 'Party Platter' - seems real similar as does the Lazy Toy. You're right though, the dedicated twin and vee quad/concave and spine just up the ante. Lightness over PU I can see make it feel smaller than it is. Thanks for the comment.
I really want one of these boards! I have two Revos...(5'3, 5'5) and love them dearly. I've been looking for a quiver killer so I spend less time deciding what to surf! I'm 53 and love surfing a longboard too but my 9'1 Skindog (56l) is a bit long for my van.... do you think a 6'9' Revomax could replace it? Can you hang five on it too?
Nice you've got the revo quiva down. I'm late to the cool club - yea the 6'9 would be great to replace the longboard, but also act as more of a 'daily driver' than a longboard. If you wanted to really replace the Longboard, the 7'0 is nearly the same volume so would do that too. It's only one inch longer but 7- ish more liters. So I'd say a good bit more floaty if you want it mega floaty. But then yea it wont be as whippy a the 6'9. In the end tho your right, the 6'9 could dethrone your whole quiver (3 boards for one) if the 6'9 is just perfect. Less decisions, grab and go lol - hilariously that's why I like the 6'3 I know it will work Ok in most stuff.
Do you know how the volcanic boards do in the sun? I am down in Costa Rica and the helium fiberglass sweet potato that I have started turning yellow very fast.
I would think they do OK. I haven't had in mega hot, I haven't had one for long enough to really say but I think these maintain their color longer. Cause its a different laminate and their alternative to carbon fiber, which I think lasts long in color and durability. Like Carbon Fiber, it does have a bit of 'black' in the layering - so it can get a little hot if you leave right in sun with wax up. Not nearly as bad as all black board or carbon fiber board, but bit warmer than white PU or white helium. So if you have that in mind and once in water its epic and think one of it's benefits is the color staying like that.
