Thank you for explaning, I didn't know that this is a normal and common thing in asian culture :) I really admire that, I think it is pretty nice to be able to share a meal with your boss/coworkers (well, at least when you feel comfortable with them). I'm curious, it is socially acceptable if you cancel and don't go with them? Here in Germany, you just get your annual works outing and a christmas party. But even then the bill for the food will be splitted between all employees and everyone has to pay their share or you have to pay for your own meal/drinks at the restaurant; at least from my experience and what I've heard from others.

But in Japanese, the letter 甲 can be translated to 'first-class' or 'former' and as it's sometimes also shown in this show, the letter can be paired with the letter 乙 (meaning 'the later') and together they make up the word 甲乙, which means 'superiority and inferiority' or 'discrimination'. So basically, they push the button when they think the bosses are being too 甲 (overusing their superiority or being too bossy). Again, I only know it as how it is used in Japanese so it might be slightly inaccurate, but I hope it helps.

i get that the show is trying to make employees feel better by criticizing the bosses but they just go too overboard with boss yang, like telling him he isnt exercising or calling him cheap for not pulling out 500 dollars for every meal they eat him taking them to all you can eat meat restaurants is a great idea as they get the protein of their fill without feeling guilty of the price
I agree but i do believe he goes overboard sometimes, like complaining for 1$ bowl of rice or not praticing what he preaches to he trainees and eating in a barbarous manner in public spaces. He's a good boss just not a perfect one and that's totally fine
