      Idk why but to me it felt kinda pointless? I mean Inertia is gonna spam inward regardless if you provoke him or not, sooo idk.
      I agree that the round was almost flawless and so fucking good, but at the same time I feel like inertia could just say the same thing back at bookie with his inward.
      Am I missing something?

    6:11 It is because you beatbox yourself, for people who dont beatbox (aka almost all other beatbox reaction channels) they get more hyped by styles like Inertia's - I think what makes you so special is that you apply to both audiences, beatboxers and non-beatboxers ♥
    I also think Bookie's first round is outstandingly, insanely, good.

      casual beatboxer watchers like inertias style because its simple, much more like a beat from a real song. They don’t understand what sounds and patterns are hard to do, bookies rounds will just sound like abunch of random noises.

      @lukenukem2003 День назад

      yeah, i think the best example of this is just getting to know someone who plays bass guitar, they will notice and point out things nearly everyone elses brain and ears just wont register because 1: theyre specifically looking and listening for it, 2: they know first hand how much skill or creativity it takes, and 3: they know how much it provides to the overall sound or vibe of a song or a section . same thing goes drummers and vocalists and damn near every profession u can think of even outside of music

Im really glad you understood his details, respect for that. Its not something that sounds good to the general crowd, but someone like me who have beatboxed for 15 years. I went NUTS when i started hearing that stutter thing he did. you basically took the words out of my mouth. The more I think about the "No Bass" that's a cheat code too. I feel like it's automatic hype for Inertia with the bass but for Bookie it's the hype around technicality without bass. I'm not a beatboxer but to make an analogy I used to mess around with poi spinning and people are way more impressed by a very basic move done quickly than they are by very technical stuff. That stuff mostly impressed other people who at least knew a fair bit about the things you were doing. So the audience is a big amalgam of enthusiasts of various levels, and the entry level folk dig your energy man, that's my best guess.

    WARNING: brutally honest long comment, feel free to avoid or just not interact!
    TL,DR: D-low wonders why Bookie Blanco does not get as much recognition as him, well it's cuz KI and D-low both give both sides of the spectrum (bbxers and non-bbxers) what they enjoy, which is the BASS. And Bookie? Yeah he's cool but we're here for the LOW BASS!! Which is what we prefer as the audience.
    6:34 I watched your livestream and I can't believe I had not said it there: The audience (aka crowd, reactors, anyone at home consuming this content, and yes even the host) DO NOT CARE about how complex something is, they came here just for the vibes. If you compare Bookie to KI, KI will do bass no matter what. Do you really think telling someone like King Inertia to counter you or to do a "no bass" round, will stop him to do bass? I can assure you even if he could counter anything from Bookie he'll still do the thing he's known for and [almost] everyone enjoys.
    And about Bookie, he [Bookie] mentioned that he adds spontaneity to his structures, therefore making his style kind of unorthodox, therefore slightly harder to enjoy. I can also tell you that even if we heard Bookie with the best top audio quality you might still not resonate with his style.
    In other words, if the bbxer's style does not resonate with your preferences, then they can take a 2nd place. That's why people can get tired of such skilled bbxers as Max0, Mighty, Villain, Julard, Zer0, Bookie Blanco and sometimes even people like FootboxG, Alexinho and Colaps, because they just cannot feel an actual connection with their style. Therefore, if it's not someone people talk a lot about such as D-low or NaPom or WinG, nobody else matters. There you go here's my comment.

    When you are judging beatbox battles, how do you balance technical ability vs the ability to craft a song/set? Sometimes beatboxes who are very skilled technique wise don't sound enjoyable to listen to. Other times, a set I really vibe to is much too simple to win a battle. It feels like you have to smash the two together when in other judged sports, like gymnastics or ice skating, technical skill and aesthetics are judged separately.

    I think it's wrong to judge based on how much you fill the room sound wise. Obiviously volume speaks but if we continue to prefer loudness over complexity we'll lose all the complex beatboxers in the competitive scene because they don't want to compete anymore. Then all that's left is bass house beatboxers competing who can peak the limiter the most. It is damaging to the scene and we're losing the delicate, clean, musically trained beatboxers.

    • @GlossArt
      @GlossArt День назад +2

      I think it’s fair to give credit to people who are able to make their beatbox translate on the mic, shows an understanding of the mic and the venue, and that you understand how your beatbox is coming across. Its a give and take but shouldn’t be all or nothing

    • @emilflarsen2
      @emilflarsen2 День назад

      @@GlossArt Colaps won over Inertia, that's true. But he had to use some of his best rounds to achieve that. To be complex you lose loudness and to be loud you lose clarity. But i believe you should be able to display all categories. For me, Inertia is a power house but he lacks in so many other categories that it completely scores down for me. And Bookie is not the first one to experience this. In many other battles won by Inertia his opponents have performed the better beatbox, let's be real. But his bass is just so OP that judges tent to forget that there's other categories to score on. I've followed Intertia since XBox times way before he became known and have huge respect for him but i honestly think it's discouraging for future beatboxers seeing this unfold.

      I disagree on your catchy flow statement, his flow was very catchy! But the thing is, it's catchy for as much as drums can be catchy, since that was most of his beatboxing. When he started to do bass, omg it was soo good, I wanted more of that. But ya it's like, only catchy in the moment. But since King Inertia has more elements in his: Lyrics, Bass, Drums, not the mention a Bass-DROP; The catchiness he gets in his rounds comes from all sources, including his melody pattern choices.
      So in short, Bookie doesn't need more catchy flow, he has tons of it. He needs more elements (bass included) in his tracks to really captivate his audience.
      BTW, this is if you meant catchy flow, as in, his flow is more catchy. If you're talking about he needs more accuracy and flow in his overall moments of catchiness, then I unironically laugh at your very ironic joke :)

    Bookie is like performing for an opera audience and king inertia is performing for a rave audience, its like someone sang opera in a rave cave, it just doesn't fit.

    Honestly, King Inertia won.. but I wanted Bookie Blanco to win so bad, since his first round was so GODLY. He just needs to a hit a two punch like King Intertia did, easy way to climb in the tournament :)

    yeah i gotta go with bookie. even as i new/learning beatboxer, just when im bored i can do some decent bass line and harmony combos
    what i find to be most difficult and skillful is what bookie is doing with those more intricate combos. i just dont like the when inertia uses the transformer sounds.
    makes me want to plug my ears like bookie was doing lol
