Florida should’ve reversed the side of the highway for going into the state into outbound. Could get twice the amount of vehicles/people out. Looking at the photo-inbound is virtually empty. Texas coast around Houston use to do that for really bad hurricanes when massive evacs were necessary. Don’t know if they still do that..
@@supremekingowl9350 , Hopefully not that bad but using the same hand in a bathtub used by Mr. Norcross push your hand the length of the whole tub and then push your hand at the same rate of speed across 1/3 of the tub and notice how much more water is pushed.
High tide in Tampa Bay occurs Wednesday early AM and then again 24 hours later, at around 6 AM Thursday, but it's only around 1-2 feet. Landfall is currently projected for Wed. midnight or a couple hours after that. That could change. Doesn't help to have both (active surge and high tide) occur simultaneously, as you can imagine.
I volunteered during Andrew in ‘92 and have been through three eyewalls over the years. If you live in Bradenton within 3-5 miles of the coast? Board up and be prepared for long term power outages and dangerous roads. Everyone else can relax a bit. 125 winds and reducing as it makes landfall is good news for everyone else. No problem. We’ve been through a lot worse
