Best teacher and tutorial I’ve seen! I’ve always wanted to learn to play but life seemed to always get in the way. Now I have a 16yo son that looks to be a prodigy and it has caused to form a stronger bond. So I’m committing myself to learning after all these years so he and I can share some special memories. Thank you so much for breaking things down easily for this old dummy of a dad.
Oh how I wish channels like this were a thing when 15 year old me was learning to play guitar. I'm 39 now. People back in my day had to look at tablature on a screen, and not knowing if the tab is even correct, try to work out those beautiful finger taps and pull offs that make a song sound so amazing. 95% of the time, I would get frustrated and just play the chords. That got old, and I stopped playing. Now I'm back and growing as a musician thanks to videos like this. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos, Tim. They're outstanding. You and I have very similar tastes in music. I would love it if you'd consider posting some songs by Ugly Casanova or Benjamin Tod. Both of those artists fly just under the radar and it can be impossible to find good videos. If you haven't heard of either of them, I promise you're in for a treat...
Hey Tim! I was wondering if you could do a lesson on “Turtles all the way down” by sturgill simpson. The tiny desk concert version, you did a water in the well lesson and it couldn’t have been more spot on. Thanks, you’re the best on RUclips!
This is a beautiful sounding song on guitar! I wish i had more formal lessons tho its hard to teach yourself from nothing but i have come so far thanks to youtube.
Another amazing tutorial Tim that captures the song as it was intended . Pardon the stupid question but what is that clip on the bottom part of your sound hole?....is that a mic?
That is a tuner... it clips on the sound hole and there's a little button I'll press to turn it on to tune. It's basically the same concept as a headstock tuner if you've seen those, but this one sits just inside the sound hole
Useful timestamp for those who don't actually care what they are about to learn. Tim is so good you can just trust he's doing it right, but the immediate play-through is exactly how every tutorial should start.
What is the strum pattern after you play the first riff and go into the g cord? Seems different from the initial D D D U D U pattern Pardon my inability to pick it up I’m a total beginner and the palm muting makes it hard to see the strumming
Really enjoying this, however. You instruct that for first Em and G chords the fith finger is first string third fret, but then whenever you are playing it, its just open and pinky hanging?
Hey, Tim. Could you take a listen to War With My Mind by Flatland Cavalry. It's one of my sisters favorite song and she said i should learn it, but I haven't been able to find any tutorials. Thanks!
Well, there's a good bit of reverb that I put on that track it in post editing to make it sound most like what the guitar sounds like that plays that part on the album. If memory serves, an electric guitar is actually playing that part but I just showed it on an acoustic obviously
I love your videos and teaching methods but the split screen showing the other part being played is a severe distraction for me and slows my learning progress immensely. I can’t strum, pick, and slide all at the same time so why would I want to watch it that way.
I think I made this lesson before there were videos of him playing it... so it's possible I may have some of the area of the neck where he chooses to fret the notes incorrect... but as far as what the notes/chords themselves actually are, this is precisely how it's played

Thanks so much for the comment Chaz! I'm glad that the lessons help you out!

Hey could you do a tutorial on Sturgill Simpson’a “All around you” like he plays it on Charlie Rose. It’s a beautiful song and I’d love to learn it.
Hey Tim could you possibly do a lesson on Cole Chaneys cover of painted blue by sundays best?? One of my favorite songs.
You’re crazy good, thank you

Great lesson , thank you 🤙

Please 😢 you’re version of this song is the best but I can’t stick the Intro
Really enjoying this, however. You instruct that for first Em and G chords the fith finger is first string third fret, but then whenever you are playing it, its just open and pinky hanging?

Great Song 🙌
Can you please do a tutorial for Zach Bryan's song "Pain Sweet Pain"???
Awesome !!
Thanks for the comment!
Will you do a tutorial on “Honest Work”-Tyler Childers

I wish I could get that tone and sound with a slide like that I’ve tried everything lol
Could you do open the gate?
🙏🏽you’re the best
I appreciate it!
Could you please do The Poet by Ryan Bingham
How long did it take everyone to learn this song after watching this
What is that clear thing called to make that noise?
For anyone having trouble playing this it's in a 3/4s time signature so instead of 4 beats its only 3 per bar
Can you do loom by Zach bryan. I can’t figure out the picking pattern
Does anyone have any tips for learning guitar
Dude. Jason Isbell and now Zach Bryan?? You’re a cool dude.
Glad you like the lessons!
Hey! I am trying to play "in his arms by miranda Lambert the tab but I am not able to find a good tutorial! Do you think you could do one???please
Lonely like I am - Logan Michael please and thanks
How do you tune the guitar 😭
How are you getting your slide to sound like that?
Well, there's a good bit of reverb that I put on that track it in post editing to make it sound most like what the guitar sounds like that plays that part on the album. If memory serves, an electric guitar is actually playing that part but I just showed it on an acoustic obviously
if you want to learn how to play the song exactly like the artist Tim is the one to show you how
I would absolutely pay ten dollars a month for your patreon if it came with tabs. Just a suggestion, if you wanna make a little more money :P
Can you explain what you are doing with the slide? I cant figure it out
To bad this video link is broken
How is it broken? Meaning you can’t watch the tutorial?
@Tim I guess it was on my end. Sorry about that. I'm going to try it again now.
I just wish he would slow down a bit so my brain could register what he's saying lol
I love how often you upload, Tim! I would still like a lesson on Heatwave by Hollow Coves if you can.
Song: ruclips.net/video/CQ7_Uhw-uT4/видео.html
I’ll give it a listen, thanks Jonah

Tim Im begging you the respond to my last comment
Well, this isn't how it's actually played.
I think I made this lesson before there were videos of him playing it... so it's possible I may have some of the area of the neck where he chooses to fret the notes incorrect... but as far as what the notes/chords themselves actually are, this is precisely how it's played
So hard to follow this guy.
Sorry Grayson
Lol i think its the southern accent
