Keighley & Worth Valley Railway | Incl: LMS Black 5 45212 | 1st February 2025

A sunny but cool Saturday on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway in West Yorkshire as we see and travel behind LMS Stanier Black 5 45212, designed by Sir William Stanier and built by Armstrong Whitworth at Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in 1935 for the London Midland & Scottish Railway.
We begin at Leeds Station on the East Coast Mainline to see an LNER Intercity 225 train depart for Leeds train depot, then we take a Northern Rail Class 158 Express Sprinter train to Keighley Station where we then join the Worth Valley Railway.
We ride behind Black 5 45212 from Keighley to Oxenhope, then we visit Haworth Station to have a brief visit outside the engine shed, then lastly we head back to Keighley to watch the departure of 45212 going around the curve with impressive steam sounds.
The Black 5 no. 45212 is a mainline certified steam locomotive that is sometimes used for railtours out on the network mainline, but it is recently based on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway and it last did a railtour from Manchester Piccadilly to Derby and back hauling "The Peaks Express" charter train back in October 2024. 45212 also did "Polar Express" Christmas trains on the Wensleydale Railway before returning to the WVR.
