I wish there were honest people like this everywhere, not one in a million. You're way too far for me (I'm struggling to fix my car) I wish you nothing but the best Sir.
This is a great video KIT'S Auto... I would like to see a tear down of the engine so we can all see how much damage overheating does to these Chevys. Thanks
Maybe you also check for any sign of cylinder wash by excessive fuel in the cylinder as well cos that can drop the cylinder compression too cos it is easy to be led astray in this kind of situation, who knows what the previous shops must have done to the car.. Anyway ,it still nice video .keep it up
When your car starts to overheat, turn on your heater full blast to help draw heat away from the engine as you slow down and pull over when safe to do so. Don't keep going for a long time when your vehicle starts overheating, unless you want to kill your engine and have to get a new one.
That's a major bummer. You can also hear how fast it is turning over from lack of compression. Also, if you notice an overheat while driving, turn heat to high and fan to max while you are getting ready to safely pull over and shut off engine. The heater core will act like a second radiator and help cool things down (does not apply if you have no coolant).
Ooh the driver may be took a delay to notice the vehicle is overheating or she co tinues to drive to a nearest place rather tha to stop immediately. From South Africa

@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair Yes!!! LOL! Why not? Relative compression test by checking the voltage or current draw of the starter with the strokes is a fast easy way to check compression. Just a suggestion Deo.
Dear technician, the is rotating quickly means that either broken timing belt or broken camshaft, you should open the cylinder head cover & see the camshaft rotation before you decide that the engine is broken.
Hold it Kit, if this is the 1.8L engine, this engine probably has a broken timing belt. I also have read that it is not an interference engine so the valves should not be damaged. I would simply check and replace the timing belt.
No compression means the cylinder walls or the piston rings are warped from the heat and no longer create a good seal to create pressure. The engine literally cooked.
You didn't check the timing belt to see if something was broken in there I wouldn't call the engine shot because I have no compression time in Bell has to have to do a lot with that
👉 since there is no Compression on either cylinder why you decided to change the engine it could be cylinder head that is warp why not change the cylenderhead instead...🏃 🤔
I learned a lot by watching these type of videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and being patience. 👍

@siyamaphanga8713 Thank you, Good suggestion, I might do a teardown video of this engine in the future, Stay tuned
I do cars would love to meet this one
That also sounded like a broken timing belt or chain, good video!
Now we are talking love these no starts
Facts me too

Wasting the coolant.you should put water and check
@porfiriolopez8937 it's ok
Next I wanna see a tear-down of this dead engine. It would be interesting to understand the failure mode of this one!
@Squirrelses Good suggestion, I will film a teardown of this engine in the future

Change that cooling hose evey 100000 mile to have a peace of mind,i had that issue on my chrysler 300 with hemi,but the engine still ok.
@SeddigShoshan-r3h Ah Ok, I'm pretty sure you didn't let your engine overheat!
How much would it cost to replace the head casket or to see if a cam is broken? That might be cheaper than a rebuilt or used engine no?
@d1bergman Replacing the engine is cheaper
Good video

What is the range of s good engine compression?
Did the Timing belt snap?

@ashercohen4739 Thanks!
Probably a failed head gasket. Still repairable. Labor costs pretty high.
@bogdan-l4l Yeah!
You should check for broken timing belt
Does this car has a timing belt or a chain ?
@bgee5098 I believe it has a chain
I’ll sell him my 2016 Cruze if he want it!!
@eaaron3 Lol
They probably didn't care to put the screws back because they were ready to screw the customer over
@cjpamp1267 Lol
How about the bottom of the engine,is it still good?
@llwood9482 I don't know

Hi Deo. How are you doing….did you check the timing belt 🤔🤔🤔🤔maybe it’s broken…..
@thearrow5793 No! I said this engine overheated before it died
Check your oil Deo. Then do a relative voltage compression test with the DVM, or O Scope.
@ekimbrough1413 No!

And pressure test coolant system to determine head gasket or only timing belt
right to me i know its broken starter bc the starter not turning the fly wheel
@rafidmedhat9319 This Engine died after it overheated why do you want to check the timing chain???
It is also caused by massive piston blowby due to damaged rings and cylinder walls.
I'd check the timing chain, and whether or not a valve job and chain kit wouldn't get all straightened out. Gotta know the right machine shop!
@HouseCallAutoRepair This car died after it overheated, why would you check the timing chain
That's a VERY COMMON leak. It's known for destroying these engines
GM burnt a lot of people with this vehicle
@Bandwidth24 Yeah!!
My boss the engine is gone 😂
@GabrielEbenezer-ko2hp Yes! Hahah
This is a known issue. Weak part on major componet. They make metal T’s. “Planned obsolescence”
@NeoAndersonReloaded Yeah!
Can see it Deo.
@ekimbrough1413 Good!
There is nothing more you can do. this engine was grilled. This is a case of both ignorance and negligence

@vpimike2646 No! This Engine overheated the chain didn't break
No compression means the cylinder walls or the piston rings are warped from the heat and no longer create a good seal to create pressure.
The engine literally cooked.
Exactly! Finally somebody that knows!
@edwardj.7007 Yes!
That coolant system on that vehicle is plagued with problems
@eaaron3 Oh really!!
Why do you put coolant if you know that it's going to leak out? Just use water while you troubleshoot it. Just my humble opinion bro.
@rqangelful it's ok
Oh man it's gone that motor is dead😊😅😂😊
@bobbyserchion Yeah!!
I was just about to ask the same question. Can it be the timing belt or chain. Also do you warranty Reman engine and transmissions
@jcmx0180 No, it's not the timing chain
Blown headgasket this is totally broken.
@rommeltolentino5954 Yep!!

What about the timing belt
@ekimbrough1413 Yeah!
