Thank you, well done; I love the details. I have been looking into getting an inflatable kayak, but I was worried about it's durability. Problem solved!!
That's the plan. Some models comes with some protection but some don't or don't have enough at certain spots. My ZK380 needed some in the front of the keel guard.
@@frankmills5284 Me too but the part there I was at had really slimmy wet sand an it was better to drag it. What I did not realize was that there must've been some sharp objects that scratched and punctured the boat. Not a deal breaker but it sucked. Thankfully it's all fixed now and I even reinforced those areas just in case. The Satrun SD models usually come with the extra protection but tnis is a BB290 that was marketted as a budget boat so it has a few drawbacks.
Erick Martin Sucre yeh I Bought a BARK inflateable boat off eBay very cheap price it has fender strips going down each bottom side also fenders round the outside of the whole boat they really do help great vid thanks for uploading 💯
I clean before sanding , but not after. Better bond. A 1" brush is better, more consistent brush strokes. Better to use a flat tool and push air out with long strkes as opposed to little stabs, then use a roller.
If excess glue spills out how do you clean it up? I've heard some people use a Dremel tool and lightly sand it. Some people say to use a strong solvent like toluene? What is your opinion Mr. Erick, since you are my go to boat mentor lol
Nah, it got punctured when I was coming out of the water. I dragged it a bit through some wet patch of sand before I placed the wheels on and that's when I noticed the puncture. I placed those patches down for some extra peace of mind.
@@ErickMartinSucre Yes, multiple times now. I have a Seahawk 4 and glued 2 registration number strips of the exact same material (30 gauge PVC from another SH4), outlined with sharpie and and the shrinkage was very obvious. It also pulls paint/color off.
But you can't fold bass boat to pack it away. I need to pack my boat for storage. I have 15' Bris inflatable, and was looking to upgrade to larger 18'. What brand inflatable did you had? Was it Bris? Do you still have it, wanna sell?
thanks again Erick. Your inspiration and help enabled me to reinforce the bottom of a Tobin Sports inflatable. Short vid here: ruclips.net/video/23FzVDPczls/видео.htmlsi=-5arWtZc7cVTH3ZD

Thanks for watching Travis. Hope all is good on your end.
Was a great video thankyou for the information for my first boat
Glad to be of service 8-)
Great could I do similar to bottom of boat to give more protection when dragging on shore
That's the plan. Some models comes with some protection but some don't or don't have enough at certain spots. My ZK380 needed some in the front of the keel guard.
I've used flex seal tape in an emergency. Lightly sand and clean first and it stays on surprisingly well.
That's an incredible useful tip thank you!
@@ErickMartinSucre I keep some on boat just in case. I have launch wheels so luckily I don't have to drag across anything.

Better is Tear-aid tape.
Great job brother
I appreciate it, thank you 😊
Thank you! Thank you!
Anytime 😊
Thanks for sharing very helpful im about to go order and try it out
Glad I can be of service 😊
It would be nice if they had that reinforced keel material down both of those side tubes too like I’ve seen in other boats
Yeah some models do but this one was a budget model Saturn sold a few years back.

@@Mypitbull82 That's awesome!!
Wjat type of material is the boat made of?
PVC rubber
Thanks...does the patch affect how the boat expands once inflated in that area?
@TyLes5 It becomes part of the boat, so it stretches with it
Just subscribed!
Awesome videos consistently...great detail on the repair looks like something I would do except no swearing :)
Welcome aboard 😁
Great how to video! Thanks!!!
My plesure and thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing awesome! 😀
My pleasure and thanks for watching.
The glue can be heat activated, which means you can take off the old patches with a heat gun. Just don't heat it when inflated.
Phenomenal tip indeed thank you!!
Good to know thanks! 😃
Always a pleasure. Thanks for watching 8-)

"Thumbs up"
How would a bike inmer tube repair kit work for a inflatable boat used in the ocean? Or is that a bad idea
I will not lie, I do not know. I have not tried it.
Tried it does not work. Not same substance . Pvc is no rubber

Kerosene works well. If you use isopropyl alcohol before the glue cures, it will get it out as well.
No to the dremel. It causes wear
Эрик, привет.Для чего ты приклеил эти латки?Лодка ведь целая.
Для усиления некоторых частей лодки. Во время последней поездки у меня был прокол.
Bro is it suitable for saltwater as well ? :)
Absolutely. My dinghy is mostly used in the ocean
Hey Erick great job with channel I got a quick question are you using this vinyl cement on a pvc boat.
Yes, the HH-66 one. I use it when the boat needs patching up.
Did you lose air pressure when you were out on the water?
Nah, it got punctured when I was coming out of the water. I dragged it a bit through some wet patch of sand before I placed the wheels on and that's when I noticed the puncture. I placed those patches down for some extra peace of mind.
That glue seems to make pvc shrink.
Is this something you've experienced?

That's weird, never seen that before.
No, it doesn't.
Well... it did.
I've spent so much money on my inflatable I got rid of it and bought a cheap bass boat
That sucks bro 8-(. I've heard of nightmare situations with used inflatables.
I use inflatable to fish in ocean, what kind of boat you had? What went wrong, why did you sell it?
@@hauloverboats434 well it was a 18 footer. It was just big and hard to put together by myself. I'm loving my bass boat.

Hence where the Sucre part of my name came from. Prison Break! People called me Sucre for a while so it kinda stuck with me.
