A lot of people are giving Zoë flak for "disrespecting Prince," as though he were some sacred artefact. It can be exhausting to feel that you have to entertain someone you respect but don't know very well. It's quite possible to admire someone, appreciate their time, but still breathe a sigh of relief after they are gone, and you no longer have to be "on".

I don't think for a moment Prince was hitting on her. If you're a Prince fan you know Lenny Kravitz and Prince were very good friends; often performing together at each others concerts. To Zoe, Prince was annoying because he was her father's friend and he hanging around. To Prince he was being the supportive; yet protective Uncle. For all we know Lenny may've told him to keep an eye out. I have many uncles and male cousins; and a Father and when I was growing up and I bumped into them at a club or even their friends at a club they stuck to me like glue; because men know the mentality of other men. Prince was purposely blocking and scoping Zoe's crowd. Zoe knew this; which is why she wanted him to leave.

Back in the 80s I did security at Joe Louis arena in Detroit. In 88, I believe, when Prince did "The Lovesexy", I got a chance to see him up close back stage. His security wouldn't let ANYONE get close enough to touch him but I was able to let him know how much of a fan I was. I hollered to him that "Still Waiting" was my favorite song. We were called The Pit Crew because we protected the front of the stage so crazy fans would have to get through us to get to the stage. Before the show started Prince would come out and practice on ALL the instruments. The man was a GENIUS. While practicing the keyboards Prince played the beginning of "Still Waiting". I don't know if he heard me but it was THE coolest night.

I don't think Jimmy was trying insult Prince. But the way Zoe was explaining sounded like it could have been sexual. Not to mention, Prince had the reputation being a ladies' man plus for a good portion of his career he had a very sexual image. Also, Zoe looks like the type of women that Prince usually dated like Sheila E, Mayte Garcia, Carmen Electra, and others.

I am a big Prince fan and so are my parents, but he was a human being sometimes, since i have also met people who work with celebrities or for celebrities and their production teams all the time, some of my friends even, you know, for tours, technical staff, roadies, sound engineers, stage builders and what they told me about Prince was that he could be a jerk sometimes and disrespectful towards staff, maybe he was right, but the way he demanded stuff was sometimes a bit arrogant and unfriendly, which most of the time is not necessary to get what you want, i know, my friends, they also work for Madonna and Depeche Mode and U2 and Beyonce to give you a perspective, they don't complain, these are very stoic, practical people, who daily do this kind of hard work, and workingscene is addictive- so they do this work until their back or knees give up, they are used to demanding tasks and very precise people . Does not mean that he was n't fantastic, Prince i mean, because he really, really was, Prince i mean. Many other celebrities can be human too. I
