Bought my 1st audio interface today and installed Reaper. No previous experience with any of this stuff. Videos like this are extremely helpful, appreciate the time and effort you put into making it available.

Ive been fighting trying to get several different DAW's to work on my computer for a year and a half now and could never get it to work. I basically just gave up. But this video finally made it come together in my head and now Ive gotten everything to work now. Now im going nuts with Reaper. Great video. Keep up the good work.

Thank you for this. I was at a total loss. On my set up I couldn't access the input menu like most videos were showing. Right clicking the red button was the hidden gem. Thanks again. Wish i would have found your video earlier,

Just started today with Reaper coupled to a Behringer UMC1820 Audio Interface. That got me straight through what I was struggling with. A nice and easy explanation. Thank you

THANK YOU YOU'RE A LEGEND. Also, thank you for having good audio quality, so many "audio tutorials" have awful microphone balancing, but yours sounds good. I know I'm 4 years late to this, but I appreciate good work when I see it.

You're my favorite human in this moment. Thank you! I mic'd up my kit and tried to assign inputs and only had 1 and 2 available (was already set to ASIO). The real kicker was the first and last setting. THANK YOU! Subscribed!

Thank you for this! The drive that had my DAW installed died several years ago. I finally built a new DAW PC and decided to try Reaper (as opposed to Cubase, because it was a PITA to get installed and configured) and it was more than a little frustrating getting my M-AUDIO 8 interface working correctly. Your explanation saved me from day drinking.

ASIO! Ya know, I've been trying to figure out why I could only get 2 tracks to record out of my U-Phoria 1820 today. Watched videos all day long. First I tried it in a Linux distribution with Ardour, then I tried it in Audacity. At around 1PM today I decided to put Windows on that PC because all I was finding was possible solutions to Windows programs with Windows drivers. Those solutions weren't working with Windows either. Then I happened upon this video and lo and behold, a nearly 4 year old video helped me find a solution. Not one time did I hear anyone mention ASIO. Not once, until I saw this video. Reluctantly I tried it but it worked beautifully! Thanks! I am now a proud user of Reaper. I need to see if I can get the ASIO thing to work under Linux now. :)

I had a problem with a brand new install of this software and associating, microphone channel inputs to the correct track in the software I cannot get the dropdown box to work even if I drag the track with wider it wouldn't show up so then I went back to the manual and that was toooo much reading to problem solve.
    Your video helped!
I figured out that all I had to do was right click on the red recording.in the track itself and then go down to mono input audio One Track 1 and do the same for track 2 but select mono audio input 2
    Thanks a bunch

I've been recording on Reaper for years with a cheap Tascam iUR2 interface and never had any problems, pretty much plug and play, but now I can't stop it from recording the master mix into a selected track, resulting in feedback and automuting. Preferences say there are no ASIO drivers detected.

I understand that you right click on the red button both at @1:10 and at @1:43 - so same action, but the menus result are different. How comes the second time you have all those analogs 1,2,... showing, and not the first time ? My problem is menu is always like "left/right" even with keyboard connected. Thanks.
