We forgot to mention, Sarah’s son Joshi and his fantastic block print! Well done Joshi ❤
I have no doubt that your bin treasure is the work of Leslie Grimes. As well as working for the Star, he also worked on advertising posters and brochures. His work all centers around the world of cars, bikes and racing. In the 1920s he worked on an advertising campaign for M.G cars
and although people might not know his name, they might well recognise his work. I'm sure any motoring museum in the UK would be happy
to have them as part of our motoring heritage.
So many arty treats - a feast for the eyes! Thank you 🙏😊
As an East Anglian Resident, I totally agree about how sinister and spooky The Fens are...The locals say the people there have web toes!!! 😆
What a wonderful print by Sarah's talented son! Keep on inspiring guys, much love xxx
I can really see the influence of Brian Froud in Sara's work. I love all things Fae. Cheers!
Three minutes into this episode. You need to get yourselves a top class scanner, Photoshop to adjust colour, and a top class LED printer. I have used this combination for ten or more years. Doing it yourself means you can adjust the colour intensity easily and print onto what ever media you prefer, and it is a money saving way of getting top quality professional results. I had a charity graphics business for years, making prints and cards for local churches and clubs. I did a lot for free because it was cheap to do and I had a good pension anyway.
Thank you for your comment. That would be lovely, but, just at the moment not something we could do financially or space wise. Maybe one day 😊 I only get a small amount of printed products at the moment. For now I'll go back to finding a local company to scan my originals. It was a good price last time I did it this way and the products were lovely and all sold, I'll just need to find a company nearby 😊
Thank you for watching hope you are well ❤
Hi ant and Hannah your grimes pictures sell well in auction .
Ant - I love the folk tale Lino prints!! Superb! X
Thank you 🙏 It feels like ages ago since I made them. They do get bought here and there. ❤
Ant you've always been a magpie 😂 nice pictures 😊
Leslie Grimes artist 1897-1983…
I just discovered you both (and Mabel) and am hooked. I am learning lino carving/printing and love Ant's prints. I used to watercolour paint as well and am enjoying Hannah's paintings. I have had Border Terriers for many years as well. They are the best dogs ever.
Great vid love seeing other peoples art too … love how simply you sit painting on your lap !! And love your umberella wet Lino print … great stuff keep going xx
Hopefully we will have more soon, I do like seeing others work there is so much variety out there too.
Thank you 🙏 thanks for watching ❤
I think Mabel thinks the donations link should be called Buy Me Dog Treats 😂. Those charcoal drawings are fantastic - as they say, one persons trash is another persons treasure. I'm glad you rescued them. Sarah's art is fab - thanks for sharing her work 🤎
Hehe, I think she would approve of that idea. Yes seems strange to throw away, but perhaps they were left in a boat that had been sold. Sarah’s work is fab isn’t it ❤ thank you for watching ❤
Hi, shared in my canal groups.
Thanks Steve 👍👍👍
The writing really works 😊😊
Oh love your painting and the dolls amazing work
I love the old-fashioned drawings love the cards and ants art and your lovely dog great video as always.
Thank you Pamela, and for joining us again this eve. Best x
It was a lovely video this time, I really enjoyed the folk tales. Your cards look lovely Hannah xx
Thank you Samantha, we appreciate your kind words x
Big thumbs up from us two xx
Hehe, first again. Before we realised we had forgotten the title 😂
The artist is Leslie Grimes, it looks like you have may be first sketches of his illustrations, may be that’s why they were discarded.
You must have googled grimes cartoonist by now? I did and his work looks like those you have. His work is now selling by auction.
And hitting good prices too!
Yes I believe we did, it was a good few years ago we found them. There's some information on him but not an abundance if I remember rightly. I was more interested in why someone would throw them. Perhaps they were a collection left in a sold boat. I know we inherited alsorts when we bought our boat, but more practical things than personal belongings or collections.
We were more concerned of the story behind them, than a price. 😊 Thank you for watching.
Another nice video, I always enjoy watching them 🙂 It's good to see another Artist of the Week! Really interesting work and characters.
I also loved the story with Ant's illustrations. I'm surprised neither of you have been approached yet to illustrate books... or is that not something either of you would be interested in?
It’s something we have both been interested in, we just haven’t quite got to that point yet. I would love to do a book, just figuring out logistics and of course the cost.
Thank you for joining us again and glad you enjoyed 😊
*whispers* you need a title.....
