The late, great Robbie Coltrane with an early, non-speaking part as aircraft groundcrew at 1:41
The score gives it an old Hollywood feel. Strange that it was removed given that so much of the film is an homage to that era.
The score is terrible. That's why it was removed. Especially when Dale is introduced. Total cringe.
Find it hilarious that Flash is advising professional pilots on how to fly their aircraft!!!
It is smoother higher up usually. He was right.
The man who helps them on the plane = Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid in the "Harry Potter" films)
Thank you! Awesome!
I thought you meant the guy in the check shirt and I had my doubts! Robbie Coltrane is pretty distinctive. But on going through carefully I know realise it's the guy in white at 1:39 Apparently this scene was filmed on the Isle of Skye in Scotland.
You're a wizard Flash
He'll always be Valentin Zukovsky from GoldenEye and The World Is Not Enough to me. :D
I watched it for the background. I've been on a plane taking off from that airfield, without Hagrid unfortunately.
Queen did a good job with the soundtrack. Although it makes the movie seem less realistic or less serious or more like a musical.
Nag, nag, nag. Her first words to him. Lol.
The Score really enhances the scenes!
I bet the reason they killed the score was because Blake's score of Dale's introduction was a little too strong.
That was the cringiest part of the music. This is probably the worst score I have ever heard in a movie.
@@dtz1000 It wasn't that bad surely?
@@LandersWorkshop That part made me cringe worse than when I watched Love Actually. That's how bad it was for me.
Robbie Coltrane is awesome in this.
The DVD cover had the nerve to say .....and Robbie Coltraine (Harry Potter Series).
I can't believe Robbie Coltrane has just died. 😞
RIP. Am on the Isle of Skye right now. Might pop down to the airfield to have a nosey and pay a moments respect.
The cheese was thick enough. Adding more would have simply melted off the bun lol.
Blake's score makes the movie seem less cheesy/campy & more like an Indiana Jones/John Williams-style adventure film.
I'd say more of a David Arnold 007 bond style of score (at least through most of it) with a hint of John Williams. Both love to highlight with French horns.
"They're busy driving the bus" Er, Melody...You're on a plane.
lol.
I know I’m late but it’s also called an air bus
@@leroyhill9110 Wow! I love it when old comments get resurrected!
neil73 me too!
"RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE!"
1:40 A pre-stardom Robbie Coltrane appears briefly.
And in the window of the building too.
Someone needs to do a fan edit..bought the Howard Blake score..its excellent and very fitting almost a 40's type score.
Do you know what’s odd, my dvd copy actually has the deleted music reinserted back into the film at certain points!
Cool.
I really loved this music! I wish it was in the original! It gives it a sort of 007 feel to it!
the pilot's son is named buzz?
I'm guessing the pilot is a football fan and it's really him that wants the autograph, not his son.
Budd.
@@LandersWorkshop He said Buzz. Mandela effect?
Nice station wagon
A bit off topic but was the dialogue looped particularly Sam J. Jones' lines? It's always sounded sort of off to me since I was a kid...
Sam's lines were dubbed over , can't remember who the actor was that we hear in the movie, but it's not Sam's voice
Yes, that's correct. My understanding is that filming stopped over the holiday season, and he refused to return unless paid more money. So they finished the movie with a body double and dubbed many of his scenes.
@@flashgordonmovies Peter Marinker dubbed virtually all of Sam Jones's dialogue. He was uncredited at the time.
This is nice, but where can I see the beginning where the sun goes red and the airline pilots get killed by a red space rock
No no no. Queens score is best.
Why the Fuck did they take this out?
Very bad audio
Was this score created by Freddie Mercury?
No, the score featured in this video was composed by Howard Blake. The score for the film is a combination of his work and Queen's.
Well, he's no John Williams, that's for sure. Very mediocre score. Much better with no music. Queen did an infinitely better job.
Like love you Happy good girl wow happy good girl wow Ruben
Sorry, but you are insane. The music did absolutely nothing for that scene. Adding music for the sake of music in an otherwise mundane scene turns it into a musical...which is dumb.
