As someone who was actually in the crowd for this, I can assure everyone that if the sponsors of the conference would’ve allowed them to throw headgear on and give actual chess boxing a try, they would’ve. Damn insurance companies… 😂 in all seriousness though, Levy is such a pleasure to meet irl.

Same with remembering combinations, you hit the nail pretty much on the head. Your forms were both pretty sloppy in terms of keeping your hands up and using more of your legs and hips in your punches but it’s like you said you’re not fighting each other you’re just punching the pads. Very fun video! You should consider doing more like this in the future if you can!

Crazy how a year or more later the comments here are still talking about the rook. I'd love for Levy to show the changing age demographics since 2020 of his channel. No hate to him, he can do what he wants and what brings in the most views and money. I prefer Agadmator again now though most certainly.

I think a great way to show how much boxing exhausts you, is in Holyfield vs Qawi 1, Holyfield threw 1,290 punches over 15 rounds and was so exhausted by the end he had to be rushed to hospital as had lost 15 lbs of fluid. In fact one thing you'll notice about the best endrance boxers is they'll have a small layer of fat over their muscles this is to be burned off during the fight for calories, further back in boxing you go the more you see it as their endurance was amazing. Another example is the best conditioned Heavyweight boxer of all time Rocky Marciano, would run 6/7 miles every single day in army boots and that's when he wasn't training for a boxing match. When he was he'd work up to running 15 miles a day every single day in training camp, so over a half marathan a day again in army boots. The endurance is incredible and he was fighting 15 rounds, in the 1910s there were 46 round sanctions bouts so that's over an hour and a half of straight boxing and before then it was unlimited rounds.

  • @Arvind_R

In an hour you can teach the basics of back control and a rear naked choke, even as amateurs two people can clumsily grapple each other trying to get into those positions.

I mean, you can say the same thing about Danny. Instead of becoming a GM, he went and became the CEO of Chess.

I don't understand why they couldn't have engaged in a simple light contact sparing match, where you're not allowed to hit hard, you basically try to win by points/clean shots, no one needs to get hurt, I'm sure they would have enjoyed the experience

Judging by the thumbnail, your opponent now has a boxer's fracture.

I wouldve been nervous for gotham if it was an actual boxing match. I think danny would have take him.

The only chess event that Levy can beat 7 year olds in

I think chessboxing without actually punching the other is better. I would prefer "chessfit" like there is turns of sport actions (aerobics, lifting weights, running, whatever) between turns of chess moves. Rather than hurting others.

If I were to do chess-boxing, I would leave out the chess part.

hey I got an idea for another one why don't you guys go out to a fancy restaurant or a beer hall and start drinking some beers and then play every like 10 minutes after you drink a couple beers so you know you play like three games in an hour and you both have to drink the same amount and that will be fun as hell I'm pretty sure!

Levy in that third round your punches were way too wild the form was very bad and causing you to tire yourself super quick.

You're everywhere I look the past few days and last week I didn't even know your name.
I actually first saw you a few days ago in a video by Wired about chess (it was recommended on another Wired video). And then a couple days after that, while watching boxing videos for the first time in my life, I see you in a video by Tony Jeffries where Michelle Khare had you lead her entrance when she fought Andrea Botez. At first I thought I must be wrong and I wasn't sure it was you because Tony called you by your nickname which I didn't know at the time. And now I find a video where you try chess boxing. The RUclips algorithm is slowly becoming indistinguishable from magic.
