- "Bossed Up" from Mean Girls the Musical (DC Preview)
This was originally the opening number for Act 2 in the DC preview. I'm a little sad this wasn't included in the Broadway production because it's so catchy (but Stop is still great).
Characters/Cast:
(Singing)
Damian Hubbard - Grey Henson
Cady Heron - Erika Henningsen
Karen Smith - Kate Rockwell
Gretchen Wieners - Ashley Park
(Spoken)
Janis Sarkisian - Barrett Wilbert Weed Видеоклипы
What do you guys think about Mean Girls 2024? 🤔
mag!c can u do the original someone gets hurt? Thx 😜
Could you do some version of Wild Life the original opening number from DC? I would love that
mag!c can you do an instrumental of this? Thanks!
Please do fearless reprise
heyyy how can we contact you for someone gets hurt dc version? it’s my fav version of the song and no one else has it posted. sorry to bother
i wish they had this track on the album as, like, an extra song with the original someone gets hurt or something :)
Definitely, it would be awesome to have a professional cast recording of the cut songs!
WILD LIFE TOO
@mag!c AMEN, I want that to happen so bad
@@lautaroroldanpizzorno7494 what wildlife
@@DanielMazz Wildlife was the song that was in place of It Roars in DC.
I feel like this song makes Cady seem really mean and in stop the audience really gets to see all of her mistakes
i will never forgive the creators for depriving us of “i’m cady heron, people. look how i slay!”
It’s back in London 🎉
Apparently this is in the west and
@@DanielMazz they cut it out of the originally but the new west end has it
@@DanielMazz bossed up is a unreleased song it’s not on broadway however it’s back on west end
@@camdenmarquis3552 i know they changed lyrics
The West End version of Mean Girls actually has this song! It’s now called “I’m Blowing Up” and replaces “Stop” as the opening number for Act 2. “Revenge Party” is now the closing number for act 1 instead of Fearless and a different version of the reprise to “Stupid with Love” replaces the reprise to “Fearless” and “Do This Thing”. “Stupid With Love” (Sung by Cady and Aaron this time) takes place after “Apex Predator” and “What’s Wrong with Me?”. “A Cautionary Tale” is still in the show but is now called “Mean”.
Cute song, and it seems like it shows Cady's progression into a 'mean' girl - I just don't think musically it meshes well with MG. Too jukebox sounding. Just yesterday I heard an interview where they talked about this song. One of the biggest complaints in the first couple DC shows was that there wasn't enough Grey/Damien, so they edited Bossed Up to give him more lyrics in it...but it still wasn't enough! They quickly wrote 'Stop', tried it out instead of Bossed Up, and decided Stop was the keeper. It's really amazing & damn impressive to think about all the work that goes into previews!
And now Cady the doormat
She's coming back in a new format
Time to let go
Say hello
To Cady 2.0
OoOoO
I'm dying
This sounds like every song in Hairspray
Like run in tell that for me 😂😂
i- this is the most truthful thing I have ever heard
this would have made the someone gets hurt reprise make so much more sense-
It's insane how much this song changed in structure, lyrics and characters across the run! I love every single version (and there were lots!)
It's a fun song, honestly I would like to have Stop and also this one, both give a different point of view on Cady changing.
Same! Having both would have been great.
i think a good idea would have been to have her interrupt the cautionary tale reprise with this song, then continue the rest of the show. it would have made songs like the someone gets hurt reprise make so much more sense.
@@mallory.persephone what other stuff did they cut out of this
@@phoenixblue-koszalka1518in west end they now have a remake of this song and at the end half a version of stop just the instrumental and dance
KELLY MOVE! KELLY REALLY?! KELLY JESUS! LMAO 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Does anybody know WHAT DOES KELLY DO?!?! JESUS!
She dances in front of cady and cuts her off
She keeps saying that Act 2 should begin with Stop
@@chrisf5828 HAHAH
I feel like this should've been the Act One opener over Stop. Stop could still be in the track, but they could just have added this back
Well it looks like I am in the minority but I prefer this to Stop. Don't get me wrong I love Stop and it has a good lesson but Bossed Up shows how Cady has now taken Regina's place in the Plastics and become what she originally hated. Especially since they recreate the pose from Meet the Plastics at the start of this song.
I don't think you're in the minority, I've read lots of comments on other videos and most people prefer Bossed Up to Stop. Personally I'm just glad both exist cause both are total bops
They re wrote fearless for the tour and ended up making that choice of recreating the meet the plastics poses where Cady has taken over Regina's place at the end of it like your talking about for the beginning of this song. So at least they reintroduced that idea
@@ThatFandubGirl Ahh that's cool, I didn't know that
Honestly I’m fine with both of them together I mean what’s three more minutes to the show
Honestly I’m fine with both of them together I mean what’s three more minutes to the show
Hey, I think it's "Gretchen fits my schedule and Karen fits my clothes"
that was earlier in the DC run, for this performance the proper lyrics are
“Gretchen keeps my schedule and Karen gets my clothes”
@@fig8181 You may be right, thank you!
Would this have kinda been Cady's villain song?
Most likely
her “how bad can i be” song is more like it
a true *biggering*
this is a cool song but grey sounds so out of breath in it-
succulentstan - it’s the choreo of this song lmao
This is more fun than stop
This is actually really good! I still prefer "Stop", but I wish this was included on the soundtrack as a bonus song. (Although having both in the Broadway show would have been fantastic - like this one followed by "Stop" , or something. Idk)
I think this one was supposed to be the opening song for act 2, but also replacing stop. I would've loved if we had this as an opening song instead of cautionary tale reprise, but while also keeping stop in the show
Who’s Kelly😂
Kelly Weddell was part of the ensemble but then got replaced by Taylor Weddell
she would go center stage and do a dance in front of Cady, Kelly was played by Jonalyn Saxer
Narratively, this song is infinitely better than STOP. In STOP Damian tells a story that has no bearing on the plot for the intention of teaching Cady a lesson that she doesn’t learn by the end of the number. BOSSED UP shows Cady’s full transformation into a Plastic, which the final version of the show is very weak on.
But STOP has tap dancing, which is fun. 🤷♂️
They should’ve reworked this for the film adaptation
@@user-qi4xd5nv7oI don’t get why they couldn’t do both songs in it show
Poor Kelly! She just kept getting hit with Reg- I mean Cady’s rage!
This was uploaded on my birthday!
Happy belated birthday! ✨
I like this better than Stop :(

Ironic that you've used a picture of Krystina as Gretchen here when Ashley was definitely still Gretchen back then
I love this song I wish they had it instead of stop
do you have a DC boot of MG?just asking if so,thanks!
I’m sorry I wish there was a full dc bootleg taped but there is none of them
Anyone know where I can find the OG version of this? I can't seem to find it anywhere
This song is back in the West End production 🎉
But stop was soo good
WAIT WHAT!!!!
Why didn’t they keep this in and stop and cautionary tale they could have done all 3

What cady kind of cady mean and who kelly
Yeah, I don't understand the "Our new Cady's kinda Cady, kinda Cady 2.0" line either. Kelly Wedell is a part of the ensemble and her name was changed to Taylor Wedell on Broadway
Lautaro Roldan Pizzorno oh so that her character name and she said move also can u explain the song someone gets hurt I don't really understand the message
@@DanielMazz Cady told Kelly to move because she was dancing in front of her obscuring Cady. Do you want me to explain the DC version of Someone Gets Hurt or the Broadway one?
“Our new cady’s kinda Cady kinda cady 2.0” is the “new” popular version of her is kind of like the old “cady” but kind of like a “2.0” version. In other words she’s bossed up
@@jameshalloran4968 Is that it??? Is that why people praise it? Weird
I will never forgive them for cutting this song
is their a bootleg of the show with these songs in?
sadly no, theres no slime tutorial that i found, only 2 songs which includes this and another different song for the end instead of "i see stars" but i lost it sadly but if i remember it was the woman playing cady singing at a pub after she finished her show.
What did Kelly do?
In the live performance the choreography had it so Kelly would start dancing Infront of Cady, and Cady would tell her to move.
Why is Cady so mean to Kelly 😭😭
Kelly kept going infront of Cady and dancing, while covering Cady
@@Itsmecody16did u see dc version
@@DanielMazz I heard it from other people
They should’ve just kept this song for memes on the album - in my opinion this is a great song but it does not fit the other music in the show like at all and I can why they took it out.
Jesus loves u 💗
Ready to get attacked. But this song feels... lazy. Sorry but I’m glad they cut it.
Could you explain how it feels lazy. I’m genuinely curious abt this cause this recording is also with them doing the choreography.
@@angsilaw The choreo is insane. And this song packs so many little scenes into one number it's so high-energy. So yeah, it'd love to hear why they think it's lazy
I agree the music is cookie-cutter and not up to MG standards. It's like a Corny Collins Show version of James Brown. It is fun and I don't doubt its a great dance number.
@@chrisf5828 There's a video of it and the choreo, the set changes and the costume changes are amazing
Lautaro Roldan Pizzorno there’s only really one proper melody and it’s incredibly repetitive (not always a bad thing). This contrast to a lot of the other songs. Eg world burn someone gets hurt more is better etc. The lyrics to me make it lazy too- like they just threw Kelly in there because move was the word that rhymed?
So let me get this straight, they cut this song which would’ve shown narratively how Cady actually turned into a mean girl and exhibits actually bad behavior…but kept “Stop”, which does not advance the plot in any way whatsoever and is just a bunch of trendy online phrases, “funny” stories, and forced feminism in the middle? Why???
