Trucks don't need to go full EV, I know some jurisdictions will try to force it but Hydrogen combustion and fuel cells both have major potential, as do hybrids. A reliable diesel hybrid system would probably dominate the truck market in the 2030s and forties.

EVs have the potential to be far more reliable, either they make the car poorly or the costs will go up to protect the industry.
