When I was watching Jenkins, It remined me a lot of Derrick White. Or at least having him in that roll. Not a superstar or anything but just someone who does pretty much everything at an average to above average level.
Loved watching Bobi’s BB IQ! He showed excellent low post passing, quick decision making, pump fakes, shooting the passing lanes for steals and overall court awareness/spacing. Duran and Bobi together in the low post will be fun to watch with their inside passing and playmaking.
Thanks for doing the summer league stuff. I love watching the games every year even though it's so hard to take much from them. I do agree about Bobi. Hopefully he keeps playing well.
Yes, Sasser could come back and drop 30. That was his MO last year (i.e. inconsistent). But because of roster construction it appears his chance to play is at point. He just isn't. He basically runs around the perimeter. I don't remember a single play from last night where he broke down the defense. He is also too small to see or make longer passes. And, despite great effort, he is just too small to defend on switches. So, unless Ivey somehow magically is willing to and turns into the off the bench PG, the Pistons have a roster hole. Actually, they have a big hole anyway because there is no way that Cade avoids an injury or rest, which means the "back up" will be starting games. That said, Jenkins was intriguing although its impossible to predict from one game or from summer league to the actual NBA.
@@PistonsTalk cause that is the only way he will get minutes in the NBA. Not many teams are going to give minutes to a 6'2" SG. Daniss Jenkins was far superior to Sasser in pretty much every way though.
Holland seemed to do a lot of standing in the corner. Woulda liked to see him be more active off ball to make himself avaliable like Klintman was doing. Loved Bobis off ball activity and cutting
Appreciate the additional post game content. Your analysis and thoughts after games would be dope moving forward. The level-headed approach is much needed when it comes to the Pistons. Quick thoughts: Sasser just isn’t a point guard, if THIS is the Klintmann we’re getting Stew’s days may be numbered sooner than later and Holland looks like an adequate back up SF to Ausar and/or Tek (once he puts on weight)
Why would a second-round rookie have anything to do with Stew? Stew is still the second-best player on the team, they should probably keep him. Totally agree that Sasser is not a point guard in any way.
Yea Holland got stuffed by Tucker three straight plays, not very encouraging. Tim Legler even made fun of him. Shades of Stuckey right there. Hopefully he gets his jump shot down so he’s not so predictable.
Stuckey had his issues, but at least he had good body control at the rim, was strong, and could finish or draw a foul in traffic. But, you are right Holland did not look good. In addition to the stuffs, he had 2 or three wild missed attempts to finish at the rim.
@@DavidRichardson-ge2ho yea that’s kinda where I see Holland easily getting to. I think eventually he’ll have good body control, he’ll get stronger, and he’s already showing he can get to the foul line, but if he keeps driving like Stuckey did he’s gonna end up like him, except worse because of todays NBA. If he gets that jumper and three going it’s a different story. Guess we’ll see.
I liked what I seen from both Ron & Bobi. Especially Bobi. He was the pick I wanted & I think both players can help this team. That being said, with our current roster I wouldn't be surprised (I kinda expect it) if both players see some G-League time. I'm keeping my eye on Tolu Smith. Might be a solid center in the future.
If they don’t force Sasser to be a PG then he’ll likely be out of the league as an undersized SG. It’s really sad because his scoring is his best attribute but he really doesn’t have the green light to show it on this team with both Ivey and Cade.
@@scottwickett1273 to me Cade is better off the ball and should only think about scoring, he’s a dog but we really need a point, especially when Cade is on the bench.
@@Loveislife-cf1qp You're wrong, he's a point guard, point guard is a state of mind. And yes, of course they still need a second point guard, they don't have any others on the roster yet.

Because he demonstrated last year that he can efficiently run an offense and get others in position? Its a mystery to me why fans or the Pistons organization would think Ivey is any more suited to PG than Sasser is.
@@DavidRichardson-ge2ho It is called development and when Cade was not playing in Ivey's rookie year. Ivey had the ball in his hands a lot more and looked just fine. Needed to fix somethings but overall was a net positive with the ball in his hands.

Its pretty clear the plan is to have Ivey be the PG when Cade is off the floor. They brought in 2 shooting guards and no PGs.
@@thepeacefulmind3411 Sounds like a bad plan.
Ron made a lot of good descisions. Can tell he’s a good team chemistry guy. Nice touch around the rim.
Klintman a steal in round 2!! Size,hustle,transition,handle...shoots thew 3 well when his feet are set!

Held their own until the last quarter. Reminds me of a certain team last year
Sasser isn't an effective point guard, he just isn't. Even when he shoots well, I don't see him being reliable in that role.
I agree I don’t know why they are forcing him to be one
Sasser definitely isn’t a point guard. Holland is extremely raw, but good defensively. Not overly concerned. Just summer league 🤷🏽♂️

He should have the green light off the bench as a spark plug what a shame.

Can’t really judge these guys in the summer league, but we must find a true point guard. Haven’t had a point since billups.
