@@KJSawkaOfficial legit, I dont see enough love for the work you put into the band and every time seeing you perform is just inspiring :) keep going strong you got lots of fans like me who never reached out. Only love!
Very interesting, thank you KJ Sawka. I'm a bit of a beginner in this area. I think that for each piece of music you do research to create a palette of original sounds, often with distortion ?
Hey Antoine, thx for your comments and questions. Yes distortion helps at times with many sounds in composition, mixing and mastering. EDM and heavy styles lean on distortion quite a bit.
Meanwhile, in the darker music communities, I get -6 LUFS is too loud! its actually kind of interesting from genre to genre what is generally expected out of a master - which is why reference tracks are great. I mastered someone's industrial bass track today for a compilation I am curating and it was funny because in any other situation, I'd be pushing it up to -5 or louder... but had to keep it in line with the loudness of the overall compilation. Which has a lot of darkwave and ebm type stuff (which generally has very little sub bass, which I personally love a lot of sub, so I'm an outlier there) and generally doesnt go louder than -8 but more commonly -10 LUFS) anyway the nerd in me loves seeing the different ways people get that loudness and still retain fidelity.
Big love thanks for sharing some hard-earned knowledge !
ur welcome my friend. DM me on IG if you have any other questions

thx for the comment Tess, I love this! Yeah, way to go, matching the rest of the compilation. You can always keep a bit more sub in there :) ha
@@KJSawkaOfficial lol, yeah I remember first hanging out in the Dojo and my first tracks had no sub. lol. Boy did I learn haha.
