This was very informative for me, thank you. Is it possible to define the gutter data within Civil 3D or only within SSA? Is it possible to do a partial import or update of the existing model into SSA? Thank you.

When I did the video, keep in mind I am showing functionality of the software and I was not necessarily concerned with the design. I apologize, I was not focused on teaching design necessarily. Does that make sense?

Hi John, thanks for these videos I visit them whenever I get stuck, but I wanted to ask if it is possible for SSA to automatically optimize and change to adequate pipe size.

    Hi John,
I am one of your fan and learn a lot from your videos. I am facing a trouble in SSA and hoping to get a little help from you. I have a EPA SWMM model and I want to import it in SSA for further improvement. But by doing that the inverts are offset exactly the inverts number of the pipe. For example if a pipe has inlet invert is 350m and outlet invert is 351m, after importing the network in SSA these inverts are just going up double (imported inlet invert = 350+350= 700m and outlet invert = 351+351=702m), which is not right. Would you know what am I doing wrong here? I appreciate your time and help.

How do you do a bypass link in a field, say like an airport infield area? Direct or gutter? Or do you just say the lateral pipe leading into the trunk line?

Can you please explain the design of the vertical pipe using SSA?

When you add the "gutter" for bypass flow, we do not have to worry about the length and inverts of the gutter function?

      Correct.

@@johnsayre4827 Why do we not need to worry. Are these values not used in the bypass flow calculation?

After setting up SSA and run the analysis, I get the error message "INF is not a valid floating point number." Any idea how to fix this problem? Thank you.
