Kiana! I know it's kind of late but i really just want to say, about the collage situation, that you should REALLY REALLY pursue your dreams. If you want to major in arts, go for it! You are extremely talented, i mean, you've already had amazing opportunities and you're just in high school. Also, although I think it's very kind from you to be grateful with your parents, you should not be living your life thinking about what would make them proud. They are your parents, they love you, and they will always be proud of you. So please, PLEASE live the life that you want to live. Do what makes YOU proud, after all it's you who's going to live your own live, not your parents or anyone else, so don't sacrifice your future just for their happiness. When your passionate about something things come easy, it's just about being constant! PLEASE think about you, not to be selfish, but because at the end of the day you really are the only one that will get benefit in the future 💞
Noo don't cry bby (virtual hug)💕💕 Also I'm going into electrical engineering too!! It's so crazy that decades ago women going into an engineering field was taboo, thankful that in our generation it has gotten better
+thetwinsofhearts aaaaaaah i love you guys!! that's so cool that you are going into it as well, it really is crazy how much times have changed! thank you for the virtual hug [virtual hugs back]
when I was a freshman in high school, I thought I was going to be an engineer too and the top reason I wanted to do it was the income. but then sophomore year came along: I took an engineering class at my high school where I realized engineering was not for me. maybe find a median between practicality and your passions? for me, my dream, like many people, is to be involved in film or fashion, but I wanted a more practical degree. I decided that marketing could work in both industries, so that's what I'm majoring in rn. I guess my advice is to listen to your gut. if you're questioning about engineering, then I think that's a good sign that perhaps engineering may not be the right path to take. one more advice for anyone going to college is to apply for scholarships! they are worth the time to do!! anyhoo, Kiana you're so humble and sweet! this was a great q&a :)
+thatfashionreject i've had a similar experience! my parents gave me two options: engineering or medical. every since freshman year, i was always in that mindset of choosing engineering. i took a class focusing on it freshman year, and it was the worst class i have taken all my four years of high school, so that made me feel a bit iffy. i am also thinking i should maybe do marketing engineering since it'd better suit my interests? i don't know, it's all so confusing. but thank you for sharing your story! i am so grateful for such nice comments like these
I'm a little bit older than you and went into Political Science as soon as I graduated high school. Being completely honest, I wish I was more honest with myself and went for a career in art or fashion. Im close to a year away from getting my bachelors and am not particularly crazy about my college experience. Graduating is something I'm very excited about, but you know, lack passion is fatal. Follow your heart. Always :)
+Bárbara Puche thank you for your story! aaaah, i am worried about being completely dispassionate in something i major in. but whatever happens, i hope you find happiness in whatever you find yourself doing!
Kiana!! I honestly relate to how you feel about college in a tear-jerkingly, scary way! There have been so many sleepless nights and a whole lotta tears relating to what I'm passionate about and what my mum wants me to do + what brings about some sort of stability! I would love to go into something on the creative spectrum, such as fashion, art, or something like sociology, but my mum is adamant that I'm "capable" of doing medicine and I can't effectively gather how I feel about this! It's tough. I honestly wish I could bestow some form of advice to you, but the fact that I'm not the only one who is feeling torn between what I want to do with the rest of my life (!!) and what my family expect me to do provides a level of comfort for me. The only thing I can say, and have been told continually through the tears and hair-pulling stress, is to keep being passionate about what you love! If you decide to do engineering, keep passionate about your hobbies! It will honestly keep you going! x
I totally get what you mean with the college thing i would love to major in like English or the arts but I know doing something in the science/math area (ew) would give me a more stable job/lifestyle wish it wasn't like that tho
you're such a sweetheart, I just started watching your videos and I love what you're about, you seem so genuine and just such a ball of pure light .. sorry if that makes no sense but yeah when you cried it made me cry! that's exactly how I get when I think about how fortunate I am, it's very overwhelming when you break it down in your thoughts like that. n hang in there with school, I know how tough it can be to decide all of these huge decisions at once, all I wanna tell you is that you have options, so many options! it may seem like the easier, more stable route is to do the high paying career now, but I think for me personally, if I don't love it, I can't do it. I'd rather be struggling a bit financially and getting to do what makes my bones shine then being sad and unhappy with a lot of money, but yknow, those aren't always the cases. Im a strong believer that things will always work themselves out the way they're meant to. that's the best thing I can tell you x
I'm also on the same boat as you in terms of figuring out what I wanna do with my life ahhhh! I personally wanna dive into the world of writing, literature, and/or screenwriting, which has been my dream since middle school, but it's very difficult to chase after your dreams when everyone is pressuring you to take the "safe route", but, especially since I'm an INFP, my dreams will always occupy me ahahaha. it's still so frustrating and stressful... However, people also do say that the only regrets in life are the risks you didn't take, so never lose hope on your dreams, and hopefully, you'll find your true calling! :) And also (for reassurance), my friend, who's currently in college, decided to follow her passion of studying european history (even though her parents were urging her to choose the STEM route), and she's doing really great! She has a paid internship for literally traveling and researching through Europe! If you have the passion for something, you'll be happy :)
woah, you made me tear up when u were talking about how thankful u were for ur family and friends. luv u sm and godlike with college apps and all that bc its such a pain!
I've recently found your channel and watch loads of your videos. Jesus Christ, you being you gave me the extra push I needed to officially be me and embrace myself. You're such an amazing person! C: you inspire me
Kiana I've been watching you forever! This video really made me think about some things. ily! And I wish you luck on your college process I'll be going through it too :) x
UGH YES I feel you on the whole college thing. personally I can't see my self going into something I hate and being around cool inspirational friends motivates me to go for something I really enjoy. idek but I hope you get into your top school choice :)
Kiana! I always love your videos. My thoughts on college are pretty fresh since I'm a freshman *buh-dum-tss* in college lol. When I was getting ready to graduate I had everything planned, where I was going, what I wanted to do, who I was going with, etc. But none of it went that way. I was gonna go to a 4 year school, but I'm now at community college. I guess I just wanna get this across. If you're not entirely sure what it is you wanna do, go for a community college first. It probably sound horrible & dumb but in all 100% honesty, it saves you a lot of money. You can also do what I'm doing, which is transferring to a 4 year after 2 years at a community. It's also really great bc it gives you time to decide. In regards to the career path, choose what you feel most comfortable with but also something you love. Think about it this way, if money had nothing to do with it, what would you wanna do? But also use a lot of common sense to find a middle ground. This was really long & I'm sorry but I can vouch for there never being a thing as too much help. Best wishes honeybee! 😇💖
+Esperanza Varela thank you for sharing your story and advice! i hope all goes well for you and your studies, and thank you again for your kind wishes!
I just subscribed to you an hour ago and so far i'm in love with all your videos!! I'm filipino too and it's really rare for me to find a real youtuber who I can identify with (who isn't trying so hard to fit the generic vlogger-girl aesthetic... does that make sense???). And the fact that you got featured in Rookie mag just makes me like you that much more! It's on my bucketlist to get on Rookie, and i'm really happy for you!
i missed you babeeee! You're so inspiring , this whole video is amazing , the things you said about embracing your ethnicity and being grateful about the blessings we have in our lives. It made me realize a lot of things. You made me tear up a little by the way. xx love youuu .
+Christian Andrea i've missed your comments too! i am so happy you enjoyed this video, love you more! xx i was a bit hesitant to talk about the whole ethnicity thing and even leaving in that emotional part, but i am glad i did!
when you cried i was like sshhh *hugs the screen* i also have a little issue with college major and a lot with embracing my nationality. im still trying to accept and figure them out which makes it hard for me to feel grateful enough for what i have and this vid makes me re consider my perspective on things so i need to thank you for that x
ahhh im filipino too and i felt the same way when i was younger!! im proud of my roots now but i used to wonder what it would be like if i was white and sometimes i would look in the mirror and try to push my nose so that it was pointy like a white person's which was ridiculous
I first found your videos a year and a half ago and I'm really glad I did, I love how you're so real, and I love how much I relate to you, I first watched you and said "wow, she looks like me, skin, hair, lips, everything" and I was so surprised bc you are beautiful and I don't associate the way I look with being beautiful, I wanted to be white so bad and to hear you now saying what you said it's amazing, it's true, we need more representation and we need to love ourselves and our roots; and also, I'm with you with the college thing, I didn't expect you to say anuthing about engineering, and honestly there are parts of engineering that really fit the "creative person" style a little better, for me engineering and life is all about creating, but also if you have a carrer that you would like better you should take it, with passion and dedication everything is possible
That's so sweet that you want to listen to your parents and that your humble about them paying for your school. At your age it is tough to choose between 2 paths but I think you've made the right choice! But keep doing RUclips videos cause I lerve them 😊
ok so this is probably hella lame of me but my best advice (even tho we're like the same age) is to do what you want! i know heading towards a degree in engineering would be safer (career wise) because you're pretty much guaranteed a job after you graduate, but if you're not heading in the direction of doing something that you love then whats the point? i also know that you mentioned not wanting to disappoint your parents, but i am more than sure your parents will be happy with you as long as you're happy, and if money is your concern (like you feel having them pay for an education towards an uncertain career field) you can always apply for scholarships! Anyway have a nice evening and good luck with your acceptance to UT Austin, i'm sure you'll be accepted!!
Honestly having an engineering degree is one of the most practical things you can do because it's not just graduating with a college degree, you basically learn a new way of thinking. I'm actually in software engineering right now and it's the best decision i've ever made!
It would be awesome if you'd do a video on photography, like tips or behind the scenes ahaha. Your photography inspires me a lot!! And gosh I know, I feel like I am too young to already know what I want to study and what I want to be.. I feel like everything I will do later (career-wise) will depend on what I do now.. (Our school system is a bit different than in the USA though, but I don't think it's much of a difference...)
i really relate to your previous feelings of being inadequate, and ethnic representation. as a young girl i felt ashamed of my skin, hair, heritage and culture. now, i fully embrace it and i love being me! dont feel bad about getting emotional on camera, i am the same way. when i think about how blessed i am and the people in my life it makes me so overwhelmed with happiness! i can also relate to your struggle of choosing a safe route for your career, i plan to do the same. i still dream big, but i like the safety net of stability.
I'm filipino too. I used to always think that people thought i was ugly because when i was really young, boys used to straight up tell me that they only liked white girls. i used to kind of wish i was white from time to time. people used to tell me that my nose was so weird and flat, and tell me that it looked like someone "smashed a pan" on my face. but i'm very proud of the way i am now and i've come to accept and love my culture! I'm also having the college dilemma. i'm taking applied math classes and no sciences in grade 11. i have absolutely no idea what i want to do in the future. i wanted to do something that will help me have a good future; like a nurse or a surgeon. but i also feel much too dumb to do things like that, and i know that i would be so miserable doing something i don't enjoy. i want to be a teacher or an artist, but it's way too hard to do anything like that nowadays. so now i'm stuck :-/
I totally agree with you on the whole nationality thing i felt that way when i was younger too its great to find another person that feels the same way :,)
I'm actually on the same boat as you. Majoring in computer engineering, and even though I'm not 100% into it (totally hate that I have to take so much Math classes, I suck at Math) I don't want to disappoint my family or my boyfriend. I mean, it's better to try your best anyways, YOU CAN DO IT! C:
Kiana, I went for literature instead of art/illustration , which was not the safest option but it was safer than art. I just graduated, I'm glad I did it, I learned a lot, and even enjoyed some classes, but I was constantly depressed, so it is important to see what your goals are, but if in the process you are going to suffer I'd recommend you to really think about your own happiness.
I recently discovered your channel and omg you are so unique. I love it, you are such an interesting person! :) Also, I feel the same way about high school, I'm a senior this year and thinking about graduating is kind of scary but exciting lol
Hey Kiana! I love love love photography and I just wanted to know the cool effects you put in some of your Flickr photographs (a.k.a the ones that give off the kaleidoscope vibes and the cute hearts/clouds/stars in the background!) tysm, love ur vidssss
Hii Kiana aww i'd like to give u a huuug!! hahaha, about your career decision I believe that any job is a dignified job as long as you keep it ethically. Arts and humanities is a career area that's completely underrated, you should totally do some research and proof to yourself and your parents that the career you love has lots of vacant jobs or maybe jobs that can be created out of nothing.. also having a career and making it through is all about your confidence and passion into it. Personally i believe in your creativity and I also believe that you are capable of doing what you love on a daily basis as a career. Now fangirling: you're my fav youtuber and i luv uuu!!!
+Rock n' Vogue thank you for your advice! oh trust me, i've tried convincing my parents! i have a really great art teacher who has tried to talk to them about art school, but they never want to have the talk b/c they think it's just going to be useless. thank you for your kind support, i will try and still be creative in everything i do! and aaaah, love you too
So glad you answered my question! I'm looking at UT Austin too since a lot of my family members have gone there. But I can relate to you since there's nothing in particular I want to study besides music, but making a living as a musician is hard.
I am now going through a literally same thing with choosing between your secret passion aka filming and stability aka medicine. And I guess I'm not one of those free spirited and self confident people who are so sure that they will succeed in everything they are going for. I think when fashion for you and filming for me are not just words then we'll find a way how to be crazy good at them while being engineers or doctors!!
OMG KIANNA IF YOU GO TO UT I MIGHT SEE YOU!! *HYPERVENTILATES* WOW SUCH A SMALL WORLD //fangirl mode over XD Anyways, a lot of my artistic friends, and me included, have that same dilemma of applying to art school and living out our dreams but realistically speaking, for many Asians like us, we have to choose a major that's "practical" or something that would make our parents happy and it's definitely a hard pill to swallow when they say that art should just be a hobby and not our main focus in life. *cries* BUT! I believe there's a way around it *wink* *wink* Me and my friend were talking about it and she suggested to look into a Bachelor's in Science and the Arts that way you can still fulfill your parents wishes while at the same time be happy by taking low key art classes on the side (lol). I haven't looked into myself but I think it would temporarily fill that gaping crater in our hearts after we leave our beloved art classes 😭. It's super scary thinking about the future so suddenly but I'm sure you have a bright future ahead of you! I sincerely hope you get into UT so maybe we can form a super kawaii fashion squad or something haha. Also Austin is such a pretty and forward-thinking city with a TON of good food (I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get fat in the coming years! 😂) so I'm sure you'd fit right in! 😶😁 Anyways I'll end this super long essay here love you gurl and stay strong (and cute)! 🍑💕💖
I'm experiencing the same thing! I'm really into art (although I'm an amateur, I'm still learning) and photography and most things on the creative side however my mother really wants me to go into nursing so that's what I'm going for :( its not like I hate it but I'd rather be happy rather than bored
I feel the same way about "the college dilemma." 😂I think I'm your age and I'm also into fashion. It's unfortunately not practical as you mentioned. I don't think you should feel bad for not following your passion in art because having a stable job will give you the means to have the potential to pursue art in the future. ☺️
Tu vídeo me hizo llorar :'( no te das una idea de lo feliz que me pone que me llegue una notificación de tu vídeo te mereces todo lo mejor del mundo love you and kisses from argentina👼✨💌🌠you are an angel
i'm in 10th grade and i'm already thinking about university and moving out since my parents insist. i'm in the exact same situation as you are cause i love art and fashion but if i do give in to what i love i just don't think it'll benefit me in the future so... yeah. so i decided to take graphics design or maybe something else tbh, i'm clueless! at least you've got it all figured out, hope you do well. :)
growing up Mexican i 100% understand you. as a kid your taught that you are not beautiful if you are not white. i remember wanting to have blonde hair and blue eyes and hated my brown skin. now i know that i am beautiful and so are you. ily and thank u for this video
I'm totally doing the whole following my dreams thing and its 10x more stressful answering the question all old people ask: "what are you gonna do with your degree?' because I honestly have no idea what to do with my history and cultural studies major when I'm finished.
i really wish that i had a different ethnicity and wasn't just white, i know that i might not think that if i wasn't white but i just feel so boring. i wish i had a unique culture to embrace. i love you kiana, i hope you find happiness in whatever you decide to do about college and everything else !! ❤
i'm starting uni next week and i'm gonna be studying german philology so i'm not sure at all if i will get a good job after finishing my degree. in austria you don't have to pay for uni so i have some time to try different things but i really wanna do something i'm passionate about. just don't stress about it too much, i'm sure everything will be awesome :) xx
i actually have a really cool story about engineering vs what i actually wanna do. one night i was sleeping in a camper with my brother(he's a chemical engineer) and he asked me what i want dot do and i told him about wanting to venture into social justice and activism and he kept telling me about thinking of going into engineering and i was like "yeah i guess maybe" and then he like paused and got really quiet and said "but honestly you shouldn't go into that because your something completely different then me or dad or mom, you work with people so well and thats what you need to do as a career because you honestly can make it that way because your so much different, your a people person." and yeah from that point on i knew i wanted to go into that and I'm still not completely sure but thats my kinda story with it
You should consider tamu! i was in the same boat as you, with UT, and was dead-set on going there, but my plans changed and my parents said no (they're paying for college for me too, so i can't exactly go against them haha), but yeah! The engineering school is amazing here.
also i am very hungarian and thus i tan so easy and so many people ask me and i got called oompa loompa, and also my friend has struggled with this so much and used to be told "your black you can never be beautiful
Kiana! I know it's kind of late but i really just want to say, about the collage situation, that you should REALLY REALLY pursue your dreams. If you want to major in arts, go for it! ahhh im filipino too and i felt the same way when i was younger!! im proud of my roots now but i used to wonder what it would be like if i was white and sometimes i would look in the mirror and try to push my nose so that it was pointy like a white person's which was ridiculous
+Rachel N yeees! i did that too! i am glad we have both found pride in our ethnicity
I really needed to hear that one day people will love and respect me. it hurts sometimes but I know the best is yet to come...
Awwee Kiana!!! We luv you!! & we love how genuine you are!!! Go you bb!!!
That's so sweet that you want to listen to your parents and that your humble about them paying for your school. At your age it is tough to choose between 2 paths but I think you've made the right choice!
But keep doing RUclips videos cause I lerve them 😊
+There She Goes thanks so much! and i will, no doubt :')
LOML I MISSED YOU OMG
AAAH, LOVE U
ok so this is probably hella lame of me but my best advice (even tho we're like the same age) is to do what you want! i know heading towards a degree in engineering would be safer (career wise) because you're pretty much guaranteed a job after you graduate, but if you're not heading in the direction of doing something that you love then whats the point? i also know that you mentioned not wanting to disappoint your parents, but i am more than sure your parents will be happy with you as long as you're happy, and if money is your concern (like you feel having them pay for an education towards an uncertain career field) you can always apply for scholarships!
+Isabelle del Mundo that's what my siblings have said! thank you for sharing your story
+Kyra Laureen and virtual hug omg aw
i really relate to your previous feelings of being inadequate, and ethnic representation. as a young girl i felt ashamed of my skin, hair, heritage and culture. now, i fully embrace it and i love being me! dont feel bad about getting emotional on camera, i am the same way. when i think about how blessed i am and the people in my life it makes me so overwhelmed with happiness! i can also relate to your struggle of choosing a safe route for your career, i plan to do the same. i still dream big, but i like the safety net of stability.
+TotalyNicki i am glad we can relate to each other! thank you for sharing your story, i hope all goes well for you
thank you kiana, you as well:)
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH OMG ❤️
I totally agree with you on the whole nationality thing i felt that way when i was younger too its great to find another person that feels the same way :,)
---------(another thank you)))i really appreciate you adding the nationality part in, you should cover more controversial/ deep things!!!! 💗💗💗
+alexandra michael i am so glad that it meant something to you! i was hesitant in leaving that part in, but i am happy i did :') thank you!
I LOVE YOU, MISS YOU BFF
+TheFashionNMakeup i started tearing up, when you started crying! bb don't cry
yOU ARE SO GENUINE I LOVE YOU SO MUCH YOU ARE JUST SO GREAT X
AHH literally going through the same thing with choosing something you love doing vs stability. ily and hopefully we both choose the right path xx
+nicole a also yay for being filipino! pinoys reunite lmao
+nicole a i am happy we can relate with each other! and yeees filipino pride
I was so happy when I got the notifications that you uploaded! Love you!
+Smile4Gracie love you too!
+xGERRELLEY glad we're on the same boat! THANK YOU!!
Did anybody else start crying when Kiana did?
I feel you at such a high level with your college rant
+Kat Roze i am glad we can relate!
Aww I love you!!! That quote was amazing.
+Nia Robinson i love you too! thank you
awww kiana! this is so cute. love you x
Also, I feel the same way about high school, I'm a senior this year and thinking about graduating is kind of scary but exciting lol
you should do a tutorial on your rainbow sherbet nails! They are so cuteee
+Katherine Haig they have one on rookie!
Hey Kiana! I love love love photography and I just wanted to know the cool effects you put in some of your Flickr photographs (a.k.a the ones that give off the kaleidoscope vibes and the cute hearts/clouds/stars in the background!) tysm, love ur vidssss
+Elisha Lozares i used a prism and just photoshop for the others! thank you
Hii Kiana aww i'd like to give u a huuug!! hahaha, about your career decision I believe that any job is a dignified job as long as you keep it ethically.
+Gabriela Ruiz glad we can relate to each other! i hope all goes well for you
My angel baby
love u kiana u deserve the best 💖
+Addison Philips
Ohh please meake a video about your music I love all the songs you put on your videos! kisses
+junofiredhimself i hope we both find our ways! thank you for sharing your story
okay i teared up omg ily (:
OMG KIANNA IF YOU GO TO UT I MIGHT SEE YOU!! *HYPERVENTILATES* WOW SUCH A SMALL WORLD
//fangirl mode over XD
Anyways, a lot of my artistic friends, and me included, have that same dilemma of applying to art school and living out our dreams but realistically speaking, for many Asians like us, we have to choose a major that's "practical" or something that would make our parents happy and it's definitely a hard pill to swallow when they say that art should just be a hobby and not our main focus in life. *cries*
BUT!
Anyways I'll end this super long essay here love you gurl and stay strong (and cute)! 🍑💕💖
I'm experiencing the same thing! I'm really into art (although I'm an amateur, I'm still learning) and photography and most things on the creative side however my mother really wants me to go into nursing so that's what I'm going for :( its not like I hate it but I'd rather be happy rather than bored
Ur making me tear up as well! Love u
i wish ya the best! i love youu!
thank you so much! ilyt
AHHHHHH YR VIDS MAKE MY DAY
+jo banana you make my day!!
I love you so much kiana!! Also i'd love to know where your hat is from!!
I love your videos so much Kiana! Im so inspired by you!
+Gabrielle Narcisse thank you so much gabrielle!
Awww thanks for replying
I feel the same way about "the college dilemma." 😂I think I'm your age and I'm also into fashion. It's unfortunately not practical as you mentioned. I don't think you should feel bad for not following your passion in art because having a stable job will give you the means to have the potential to pursue art in the future. ☺️
Tu vídeo me hizo llorar :'( no te das una idea de lo feliz que me pone que me llegue una notificación de tu vídeo te mereces todo lo mejor del mundo love you and kisses from argentina👼✨💌🌠you are an angel

omg I love you soon much 💜💜 and your style and just everything about you 😊
+Megan Gutierrez thank you so so much!
i'm in 10th grade and i'm already thinking about university and moving out since my parents insist. i'm in the exact same situation as you are cause i love art and fashion but if i do give in to what i love i just don't think it'll benefit me in the future so... yeah. so i decided to take graphics design or maybe something else tbh, i'm clueless! at least you've got it all figured out, hope you do well. :)
who the hell disliked this i will fight them I LOVE YOU KIANA
growing up Mexican i 100% understand you. as a kid your taught that you are not beautiful if you are not white. i remember wanting to have blonde hair and blue eyes and hated my brown skin. now i know that i am beautiful and so are you. ily and thank u for this video
+karen sanchez yes!! i completely relate. i am glad we have both found not only acceptance, but pride in our ethnicity!
I'm totally doing the whole following my dreams thing and its 10x more stressful answering the question all old people ask: "what are you gonna do with your degree?' because I honestly have no idea what to do with my history and cultural studies major when I'm finished.
i loved this video kiana!! i'm thinking about ordering an issue of rookie, but i have no idea which one to get! any recommendations?
+chloeohallaron you should! they have them on amazon!
Aweheehej I'm Filipino too!!! :) ahhh!!! I'm cryinggg
+Vashti Sy whooo!
i really wish that i had a different ethnicity and wasn't just white, i know that i might not think that if i wasn't white but i just feel so boring. i wish i had a unique culture to embrace. i love you kiana, i hope you find happiness in whatever you decide to do about college and everything else !! ❤
This was uploaded on my birthday yay
THE MOMENT YOU CRIED I CRIED TOO
Oh my god that is so weird I've been into the 60s now too. You should look at what people wore in France then! It's so cute
+Lulu Naef ohh, i will!
~*~*filipino pride grllll!!!*~*~
+Claudine Mallare yeees!
i'm starting uni next week and i'm gonna be studying german philology so i'm not sure at all if i will get a good job after finishing my degree. in austria you don't have to pay for uni so i have some time to try different things but i really wanna do something i'm passionate about. just don't stress about it too much, i'm sure everything will be awesome :) xx
+Katharina H. i hope everything goes well for you! and thank you for your kind wishes
i actually have a really cool story about engineering vs what i actually wanna do. one night i was sleeping in a camper with my brother(he's a chemical engineer) and he asked me what i want dot do and i told him about wanting to venture into social justice and activism and he kept telling me about thinking of going into engineering and i was like "yeah i guess maybe" and then he like paused and got really quiet and said "but honestly you shouldn't go into that because your something completely different then me or dad or mom, you work with people so well and thats what you need to do as a career because you honestly can make it that way because your so much different, your a people person." and yeah from that point on i knew i wanted to go into that and I'm still not completely sure but thats my kinda story with it
+Anna Jones that's awesome. i hope that whatever you find yourself doing, you love it! thanks for sharing your story
omg i love you kiana like i wish we went to the same school.
+Joy Chase i love you too! and aah, that'd be so cool
YOU LIVE NEAR ME AHHH I DIDNT KNOW THAT LOL
You should consider tamu! i was in the same boat as you, with UT, and was dead-set on going there, but my plans changed and my parents said no (they're paying for college for me too, so i can't exactly go against them haha), but yeah! The engineering school is amazing here.
+Efua Quagraine i was thinking of going there! i might apply, but i am not for sure :')
it's not as cultish/conservative/country as some people make it out to be, and it's def more diverse than i orignally thought!
UR MY FAVE ♡
