    A nice surprise to wake up to this morning. A bright, welcoming quality video from my favourite provider. Platinum Lounge looks very relaxing, colour scheme is easy on the eye. A great place to while away a couple of hours before boarding or in transit. Happy travels. Regards, Les in drizzly overcast Melbourne.

      Thank you... The Blueberry Juice is amazing. For something different, add some Sprite or Soda Water to it to give it a fizzy boost.

    Nice trip report. Liked and subscribed. The lounge looked great. I enjoy the lovely cabin of Finnair's A350, and it's lucky that you got this special aircraft

      Thank you. The Platinum Wing lounge is great, even the regular Business Lounge is nice when the other is closed. I had been keeping my eye on the Moomin aircraft having been on the Marimekko aircraft, plus the Oneworld livery aircraft.

    I recently flew Finnair for the first time from Bangkok to Helsinki. Really enjoyed the experience. Also I think I may have flown into Japan the same day you did (but from Sydney), the rain was incredibly heavy, we only saw the runway just moments before touching down! Thanks for your review 🎉

      I also do like Finnair (as you may be able to tell by the number of videos I have of their flights). Whilst the service is always great, and I do love the A350 aircraft, I think the catering in Economy has taken a step backwards in the past 2 years (it is good, but very minimal).
      This flight arrived into Tokyo on Tuesday, the 18th of June... and the rain was crazy heavy.
      The next couple of days when I was at the Disney parks the weather was great, until Friday, when the rain was crazy again.
      Thanks for watching, and thank you for the kind words.

      @@ausflyer Yep I must view your other Finnair reports! I was lucky enough to fly Business from BKK to HEL. Other than the cabin being way too hot, it was comfortable and good service. A350 is my favourite aircraft. Yes, that's the same day I flew into Tokyo from Sydney on Japan Airlines, it was turbulent really the whole way from Sydney (that was at the start of my Europe trip). I also flew Norwegian, Swiss, Zip Air, Singapore Airlines on this holiday. Unfortunately now back in boring Melbourne. Thanks again!

      @ausflyer  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@steph8022 lol... Melbourne is not that boring. The many times I have flown Business Class with Finnair I find the cabin gets a little too toasty for my liking. The only thing I do not like about the Finnair A350's (and several other airlines do the same) is the lack of adjustable air vents.
      Being home after a trip can get a little depressing... looking forward to the next trip can help ;-)

    Finnair used to boast the fastest connection between key Asian cities & Europe, but these flights now take 10% to 40% longer because its planes can no longer fly over Russia. Helsinki-Tokyo service that used to take around nine hours, now grinds on for around 13.

      Having flown between Helsinki and Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, it would certainly be amazing to cut 3-4 hrs of each flight. But it is what it is given the circumstances. The bonus with the Helsinki to/from Tokyo flights in Winter, is a chance to see the Northern Lights which I have been lucky to catch on 2 occasions.

    • @oz3278
      @oz3278 Месяц назад +1

      @@ausflyer I thought Helsinki to Tokyo went south and then east? I heard the PA announce that you were going over the North Pole ... I know the Tokyo to Helsinki route goes over the north pole, but wasn't aware it could go back the same way (I'm guessing winds dependent)

    • @ausflyer
      @ausflyer  Месяц назад

      @@oz3278 having flown between Helsinki and either Tokyo Haneda or Narita a dozen times (in either direction) with both Finnair or Japan Airlines, all flights except one have been over the North Pole (or near enough). Same with the flights between Seoul (ICN) & Helsinki, they take the arctic route most of the time.
      All my Helsinki flights between Singapore & Hong Kong are always via the Middle East and Sub Continent.
      I just checked the last 3 x AY73 flights, 1 was via the Arctic Route, 2 via Middle East & China.
      It largely comes down to trade winds from what I have been told

    Thanks for sharing. I am on a Finnair Helsinki to Narita flight in April 2025 and have used my Oneworld status to also book row 31! How was it overall?

    • @ausflyer
      @ausflyer  Месяц назад

      Being just under 6ft 1in (184cm) and curves/bumps in all the right places I find it a great seat due to the massive amount of legroom, plus if you need to get up and stretch, or go to the lavatory you can easily get around anyone in the B or C seat.
      If the aircraft only has a light load, I will change to 32 or 33 (Comfort Seats) as you can raise the armrest and stretch out (row 31 has the screens and tray tables in the armrest so they cannot be moved).
      I am flying ICN (Seoul) to HEL in just over a week and being a full flight, have 31A locked in.

    Do the econemy seats have a charger (USB A or C) for charging my Tablet ? I need to know so i can bring th right cable to the fly.

    • @ausflyer
      @ausflyer  Месяц назад +1

      I always travel with both cables, however I am sure it was a USB-A cable that was available below the screen.
      From Finnair “All our renewed A350 and A330 aircraft have USB-A ports available in each seat.”

      Finnair are doing a lot better than many people realise. Whilst the issues of having airspace closed over Russia & Belarus is a nightmare situation given Helsinki's location, Finnair have managed to pivot. They have multiple wide body aircraft being wet leased by Qantas & Qatar, plus there network to/from the U.S. has more than doubled.
