@@cloudyyskies9183 A senpai is an upperclassman. This is usually represented incorrectly in anime and/or mangas. I believe Haikyuu!, Boku no Hero Academia, Assassination Classroom, Charlotte, and some others use senpai correctly. Most other animes and/or mangas use it incorrectly. Fan bases especially use it incorrectly. The game Yandere Simulator attempted to use the term correctly, but it only caused senpai to be used incorrectly more often. So I believe watching anime doesn't have much to do with knowing the actual meaning.
(Btw some places in japan use senpai not just for upperclassman but for people with higher experience as well.)
