Honestly for all of the cheaper and supposedly “more efficient and better” modern transformers toys, aside from the potential breaking, this is pretty cool to me
@@papermelon I would agree with you however I literally paid 1k for Flex Changers night bird I thought it was like 100$I am extremely disappointed and I will never financially recover from this
The transformation itself looks quite cool with it sort of flipping inside out in a pretty swift motion. The bands are quite ugly though on the car mode.
With all the hype over compliant mechanisms in the engineering world, I'm actually surprised that it took them this long to try it out for transformers. Supposedly, compliant mechanisms are more wear resistant than traditional linkages, so providing they don't cheap out too much and use a brittle material, it should be fine.
I mean. It's definitely gonna break pretty quick but so do pretty much any toy in the hands of a kid. It seems perfect for playing, no complex transformations plus it's just one motion. I could see kids absolutely loving these things
Weirdest ones I think i had as a child were the ones when the bayverse was at its peak, it was just the vehicle modes with a plastic engraving of the character transformed on the bottom with their name and insignia. Weird and maybe pointless but my parents had no money to constantly buy the normal transforming ones so these ones being cheap were a good alternative and I loved them so
Does anyone else get vibes of one of those rubber bands that looked like different things like dinosaurs and bugs from how the rubber band looks in robot mode?
Its cool they used plastic hinges. Saw a YT short on how practical they are. i still miss the metal transformers but alas that was a different life and a different time!
I think it's pretty cool, and watching you transform it is very satisfying ^^ But that being said I can't imagine it'd have very good build quality, especially when it gets older and the rubber bands get brittle
I think this is actually really cool for people with Sensory issues/anxiety. Think Fidget spinners but for Transformers Fans. Ill need to pick them up.
Nah I got this same Nightbird for the fun of it and it didn’t disappoint. Feels like a lot of people rly want highly posable and accurate looks so much that we forget these toys HAD gimmicks back then so it’s always fun to pick one of these up to remember the kinda weird creative side of the Hasbro Transformers team
Haven’t bought a Transformers toy for years but I remember having the Optimus and Megatron toys from years ago, then I went into a store not too long ago and saw the new ROTB toys and they were utterly abysmal. I feel really bad for this new generation who have shitty products, can’t believe that the toys from ‘07 are better than today, the quality should be going up not down
I think the coolest transformer i still have is devisator combiners but the cool 40 step transformer ones and all 7 parts combine into a 3 foot tall robot fully combined
Hasbro failed with the movies toy line. None Of them made me want to buy one. I've just been getting the other lines that are out at the moment. Except for the earth spark toys I think they dropped the ball there too.
Nightbird, made such an impression on me in “ Enter The Nightbird “ and then they make this shit!? now, Masterpiece MP55, that’s a Nightbird ! figure Hasbro, take notes
I wanna go back to the 2000’s man, back when transformers were ACTUALLY transformers not these twist and rotate 4+ BS 😂I miss the puzzles and it was satisfying when you remembered how to transform it without the manual
Ummm those are the majority of figures available now, this rubber band thing is just a random cheap gimmick line of figures to fill out the whole movie line 🤔 you really think they're gonna stop making transformers that transform? 🙃

I’m seeing this the same day as Robosen revealing Grimlock.
The chasm of engineering quality is unreal, this figure makes my head hurt.
True, although one could argue there’s also a $1,489 price chasm between them too, sooo 😂

I’d give it 8 out of 10 for being so simple. My toddler loves his and is happy with the simple transformation.

If nothing else, the transformation is interesting without being frustrating.
Mess up while transforming the toy and it becomes a background decepticon in a Bayverse movie.

Weirdly enough I think it somewhat captures the aspect of the very fast, somewhat action, transformations of the newer movies and shows.
If this was in the transformers movie, the transformation on this night bird will be awesomd
They really cranked out ALL of the weird in the movie lines.
Nobody will ever convince me that these Flex Changers and One-Step Changers will ever be good Transformers toys.
I kind of appreciate these weird gimmick toys even I don’t own any, they are just fun looking I could see myself getting these if I was younger
Love Nightbird. This is a great toy for young kids. Easy transformation and no parts to lose
Even after the rubber pieces inevitably breaks and the figure is in pieces, it will still be movie accurate.
Hasbro is just scamming children and parents at this point.
Bro skipped leg day
Well it is named Nightbird, duhh 😅
this isn't a transformer, this is a ragdoll.
I feel like this could be the beginning of some interesting technological advancements for Transformers engineering. As it is now…it’s weird.
It’s crazy that this was my first transformer I’ve ever had 😭
But now I have stuff like studio series grimlock and a sealed 1980s airrazor
I mean, I have something like this where it's super easy and all it turns into is a jet with legs.
Oh, it's held together by compliant mechanisms, that's actually cool
And somehow it's the one Nightbird with the least kibble
I mean, its the closest youll get to a transformation that works in a similar way to the Bay movies

We need a masterpiece version of this character, mostly to have an R32 transformer, but nonetheless, we need one.
