Actually the person that puts the Sam witch hunt into motion is Carly, Jason had told Carly and only Carly that Sam had claimed to go to Miami only to stay in town because she was still angry with him, Carly instantly wanted Sam to be up to something because then Jason would leave her and she'd get him to herself, when Kristina is snatched Carly goes to Sonny's house and paints the scenario for Sonny that Sam has taken Kristina which is why Jason hasn't told him about Miami this instantly leads Sonny to mistrust Jason but rather than turning on her Jason defends her which instead causes a rift between Sonny and Jason. Sonny treats all women like trash when he's done with them because he's misogynistic but i think he runs with the Sam theory because Sam would never hurt Kristina a business rival could potentially kill her and it would be his fault and Sonny never admits when somethings his fault.

Alexis has always thought that she was better than everybody. Years of self righteousness, being smug, entitled. She put much pressure on her daughters. Christina was denied her father's involvement her whole life. Christina was vulnerable to Shiloh because of the absence of her daddy. Sonny was denied an opportunity to play a part of his child's life. This has severely messed up Christina. She is just starting to get her crap together.
