An engine cover keeps most dirt and dust out of the engine bay and helps keep the air cleaner filter elements clean as well as they also stop sticks and bushes getting inside the engine and becoming a fire hazard. Trust me, there's a reason to always run with engine covers. It saves money, down time and hassle. Wanna know something else ? I have a canopy fetish too. The 4 post air cab on the D9H 90V is the best cab for visibility.

D9N is my era. Love the no Glass ROPS with the triangular top. Engine cover intact.
The D9N is the high sprocket drive configuration. And poorer in traction.
