MFR. Our Dearest Friend and Compadre alias ¨El Crimen¨ Luisito, passed away Dec 1, 2021 in glory and in heaven. Our darling father joined the PRANG at 16 years of age with a single stripe on his shoulder. After that, Luisito became a fighter pilot with La Muñiz. From F-86s Sabres to F-104s Starfighters and beyond. On behalf of our beloved father, WE wish you all and loved ones, only the best from this day forward. Amen.

Breakfast was the best -- ham and eggs, bread and butter, coffee and juice, fruits galore and much more. Everyone happy, united, and looking forward to the mission at hand. I had the privilege of witnessing every single take-off from the end of the ramp and listen to my father´s voice on the radio. ¨Shall be back in hours Macho, enjoy yourselves, be good, and we´re going to the movies tonight.¨ God Bless You ALL! No wonder I spend 25 years in uniform with no problems and no excuses. Get the mission done Luisito. That´s all WE ask of you. Thank You Boricua! My Father is in minute 1:14, far LEFT! LMAO

I want to add that the fact that his general rank was not federally recognized does not detract from his exemplary military record. He won the DFC and the Silver Star in WWII, was a superb pilot and commander. I had the honor of serving and flying with him.

Love this video many flashbacks came to my mind.I was 5 when i saw the F-104s then the A-7s and my always favorite the F-16s i miss those fighters that always flew over my house in San Juan. Go PRANG!!
i was there when they had the 86 h best time of my life loved the island and the culture and the ocean and the o clubs and most of all flying the h what did we get standing alert back in those days i stood alert but i can't remember it has been a while
Gentlemen; This was a dream but then we woke up. Let me explain, since the late 80's the Air National Guard only have 4 C-130 Hercules Transport Planes one of which went down and crashed in the continental US in which the whole tripulation perished, even after they informed that there was something wrong with the plane and I think that we have about 4-6 UH- Black Hawk utility Helicopters. In the year 2007 there were about 18 times that Mr. Hugo Chaves invaded our air space but without fighters there was nothing that can be done except maybe to throw rocks at them. At the present as far as I know the remider 3 C-130 Hercules Transports remain grounded untill further notice. So the dream that we could defend ourselves is now gone. I remember seen F-16's Fighting Falcons at the international airport armed and ready, I also saw some A-4 Skyhawks flying by but that's about it. SEMPER FI!!!!.
@@larata1646 errr the actual governor is Ricardo Rosello. Plus i would blame the macheteros wich killed 10 seamen and destroyed various fighter planes and even affiliated themselves with cubas intelligence organization resulting in the U.S. military exiting Puerto Rico. In my opinion it does not have nothing to do with the governor but it would be nice getting some fighter planes for the air national guard due to PR being such a strategic naval point.

El video esta muy bonito. Para los Bucaneros debe haber sido algo impactante bajarse de un F-1 y montarse en un Peterbuilt. La guardia nacional aérea de Puerto Rico ha desempeñado una labor admirable y honorable. No importa la próxima misión ya sea de movilidad estratégica con los C-130 o de reconocimiento estratégico con los C-23 continuará rindiendo resultados admirables. ¡para adelante mis hermanos que por algo Dios quiso que fuéramos boricuas!
La razon es que un Ayudante General que no recuerdo su nombre, pero fue asignado por el Gobernador Rosello dijo que era mejor tener una unidad de C-130s por el translado del Army South de Panama a Puerto Rico y como la unidad en Muniz, para ese tiempo no paso una inspeccion a nivel del departamento de la fuerza aerea era mejor cambiar la mision. La PRANG fue y siempre sera una organizacion de hombres y mujeres dedicado al servicio de Puerto Rico. Fui y siempre sere orgulloso de mi PRANG!

@alexgomez123 Well, the everyday use of Spanish like the rest of the island is what you are going to hear unless there are folks that only speak English like units coming down for duty. Don't worry about it, when I was a member there were plenty of those that only spoke English and they did just fine, in the end it is part of the U.S. Air Force.
Can't believe they let this unit go to shit... they should have had more presence in public activities and interact with kids in school, etcto promote aviation... instead they just used it as their flying club... Now is gone... I lived close to several air bases in the USA and they are very much involved with their communities...
Yeah. I remember him. He came to a PRANG party in Puerto Rico during the 80's. The party was at Isla Verde. He was hanging out with El Crimen and they asked me if I could take him to the airport. That's the last time I saw him. Really really nice guy. Had great stories about the PRANG during the 60's.

Today, the PRANG has no air to air fighter defense aircraft, it only flies C-130 Hercules.
