- Doo Wop legend Kenny Vance performs this classic hit. Not the Lauryn Hill or Sesame Street Doo Wop hits but still rockin crowds in his hometown of Brooklyn, New York and worldwide, a gentleman with soul in his doowop.
March 6 12:05 am still listening to this great doo wop
The good old days may be gone but not forgotten 🎶
How can 268 people give thumbs down to this? Listening to that voice is like listening to the voice of God !
I do not know! I love ❤️ Kenny and his voice!
Some people are tone death
That just tells ya what kind of morons we have in this world today.I agree with ya ...God blessed us when lived in this Era..😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
@@patschuler7466 tone what?
Those 268 people don't know good music.
The Moonglows , Harptones and the Dells .. how cool is that ! 👍
2024..still love this...born in 1947...I feel young again!
Me too
@@dereksmithjr4970me three, 1948.
I was born in 1947 too, and still love this great music.
Born in 1981. Love ❤️ this and all the old time hits. Todays music can’t compare. There are some of us out there
I’m hear with you,all I can do is pray and pat my feet.❤
💯 agree Born in 1947...so many memories. Love Kenny Vance ❤️
I'm 89. 50's and 60's songs were popular in my "glory" years. I can bring back those years anytime I want listening to RUclips selections.
I kid you not my grandma grew up with Kenny, and he came to visit my house today! He played this song for us in the dining room, it was awesome. Edited- Hey guys, unfortunately my grandma passed a few months ago. She had been staying at our house slowly weakening from pancreatic cancer. Remember Naomi Perlman
I love Kenny' Vance ❤ what a great group. Still listening 2024.
brings tears to my eyes this is the way it should be today
Yes yes yes yes yes yes you are so right
Love the Doo Wop era! Being born in the early 40's i was raised with this great music where you can understand what they are saying!
I was born in 1959 and I love doo wop music, especially Kenny Vance and the planatones, went to every door wop show possible 💯♥️👍
@@alisafehr4708 Born in late 1970's but I still like it!
@@jackwilliams5474 real talent and no auto tune when artists could actually sing and you can easily understand the lyrics and no dancing naked girls... Kenny Vance and the Planatones are a real band not like today where they have "groups" SMH
@@alisafehr4708 100% right brother!
Remember when music wasn’t auto tune, artist had actual talent and class ? ❤
Ll
yeah like the stones and zeppelin
It's sad to hear what people consider good music today when you hear what beautiful music once was. There are still great bands that embrace the sounds that paved the way to modern music. But this music isn't what sells. Sexy money and material gains is what sells, while you literally have to search out real music in obscure places online or in whas left of local music scenes. As a musician it hurts my soul to put on the radio these days.
@@Jamiir215 I so agree ,it’s sad it’s not music it’s pathetic reproduce garbage same thing over and over .I don’t know how people can listen to it and actually think it’s good .Holy carp! I’m great full I grew up when I did .I’ve seen so many great bands .Much better days in practically every way . I can’t believe the prices they pay for a concerts and sleaze . Where do these kids get that kind of money ( mommy & daddy) I would never have asked my parents for money for a concert.
Doowopforever always !! by dave 10/19/2024.
There aint no better music than Doowop !!
Being a 69 year old widower I lived this music as a young boy/man and this brought tears to my eyes. A homage to a great era and some wonderful music
Me too David, love them, I am 79 and would love to dance to this again.
Boo Hoo....
Well said
Listening to this song in March '20 and I wish I was back in the 50's and try to forget the maddening Covid 19 Virus that is killing so many.
Wouldn't it be priceless if we could go back. I'm tired of the Covid, Masks, So call protesting the whole 9 yards of 2020😢
You and me both

Best music hands down...im from queens and I grew up with this music, my uncle being one of the former members of randy and the rainbows....just singing on the street corner.
Amazing that so many millions bought into this Plannedemic MASKquerade.
The national anthem song for all us doo woppers!!!!!

There are days when I wish I could roll back the clock & take all the sadness away , but I have a feeling that if I did the joy would be gone as well ! Take Care Friend 🎉
Love Kenny.
Great stuff! Listening to this fabulous music I’m back in high school again-65 years ago! It never gets old!
At Erasmus Hall High School, we used to harmonize
Me and Benny and Aaron and two Italian guys
We were singing oldies, but they were newies then
And today when I play my old 45's, I remember when
We'd practice in a subway, in a lobby or a hall
Crowded in a doorway, singing doo wops to the wall
And if we went to a party and they wouldn't let us sing
We'd lock ourselves in the bathroom, and nobody could get in
'Cause we were looking for an echo, an answer to our sound
A place to be in harmony
A place we almost found
And the girls would gather 'round us, and our heads would really swell
We'd sing songs by the Moonglows, the Harptones, and the Dells
And when we sang "Sincerely, " we really sang it high
Even though it was falsetto, we almost reached the sky
We've sung a lot of changes since 1955
And a lot of bad arrangements we've tried to harmonize
Now we've turned into oldies, but we were newies then
And today when I play my old 45's, I remember when
We were looking for an echo, an answer to our sound
A place to be in harmony
A place we almost found
Hard to believe he can still hit those notes after all these years. My goodness!!
Yes hard to believe and I'm very grateful he can!
My favorite Doo Wop song!! "Looking for an echo!" Never get tired of hearing it. Great NY song. It should get more air time. Kenny, you re still appreciated.

"Me and Benny and Aaron and two Italian guys." One of the greatest lyrics ever written. This song is a complete history of early vocal groups.
Love this
Me, Benny and Ira.
Wow...could he ever hold a pitch perfect high note for the longest time.
I was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1959. I love this music even though I missed the boat. A little before my time, but I still love it!
I was born in Brooklyn in 1946 and this is my favorite music 🎶
@@genebigs1749 I was born in 1949 in Central PA. I was and still am a lover of doowop music. I remember falling asleep laying in bed listening to this sound on my little transistor radio that I got for my 11th birthday in 1960.
I love Kenny Vance. My grandsons and I sing along with him when he sings"Looking for an echo". They think he is so cool, which he is. Hoping he still does concerts. Saw him twice at Ocean Grove. Absolutely the best !!
Love this song-Thank you 84 yrs old and still love this music
This is what real music is. We need more of it in this world now
Saw the planotones in concert twenty seven times. No others come close to their talent in doo wop.

The best times of my life. The music was amazing! The cars, chrome with class and style. Drag racing almost every night. Listening to the Wolfman on our AM radio, playing our 45 records. We had it all, drive in movies, no traffic, no emission bullshit and the cops didn't bust our chops. We had real freedom back then. I feel so sorry for the younger generations. They don't know what true happiness is. Rock on Kenny, Doo Wop forever. What a hell of a performance. From hy hometown, Brooklyn, Go, Brooklyn, Go!
WILLIAM EDWARDS couldn’t agree more with you, I am 70 now and sure do miss those times, the 60’s were great yet hard JFK, MLK, RFK, Civil Rights, Vietnam but I would go back to 50s & 60’s in a minute all the great things you mentioned the muscle car era, Wolfman, Cousin Brucie , Doo Wop, all the music and yea the Drive Inns what a time or as they say oh what a time!!
WILLIAM EDWARDS I hear you brother!!! I was across the line in Plainfield, N.J. Great memories!!
I remember it well my friend. We had it all.
I was born too late, but that’s where I would want to go.
yes life was great!
55 years later and he is still hitting the notes and still one of the greatest.
Those were the good old days.
Saw you perform at Lehman College years ago and loved your music. My hubby passed in 7 months ago and seeing this brought back precious memories!

💞 Truly doo wop at its very Best...From a 74 yrs young doo wop lover. Loved this song then and still love it now. The best years of my life...💖😊💖
🥰🥰🥰❤❤❤
Hi my dear darling Katherine. You had written that you were 74 years old, but at this age I estimate you to be much younger. My estimate of your age is approximately 64 years old and NOT OLDER!!!
I am very happy that I can communicate with you from time to time. It does me good, because despite many setbacks I am a single man. Ideally, I would like to meet a very sweet and reliable woman who can mutually support each other, and so on.
Lots of love and a big hug from me,,,, you Walter 😍🤩😎💝💖💝👌👌👌
My husband harmonize with them and he's from Brooklyn NY😊
Nothing better than those oldies back in the Brooklyn Paramount.
According to my father. Miss you big Lou. Elton and Pitkin. East New York.
This is dedicated to Mike B, from Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. Mike was my life long friend ... and he just past a few weeks ago. You will be in my mind, and heart, forever, my friend. All the concerts we saw together, all the shows and all those insane adventures. Rest In Peace! You Brother!
This is my dads favorite song and if it wasn’t for him introducing me to this genre i wouldn’t listen to anything. Im turning 35 in march. Happy New Year everyone
Kenny - you met my father at one time, his name was Danny Cap and boy did he love you. He was born 1951, diagnosed with cancer in 94 when I was 1 year old and we lost him January 2021. I cherished and envied him so much, the love in this song is much similar to love my father showed in life. You were with him in his final days and one of the last things my father said to me was “Looking for an Angel”. Thank you for this song. In a dark time it brought light . I enjoyed it many times with my father and still enjoy it now thinking of him every time! Thank you
This music even makes my arthritis feel better. ARE YOU FEELING IT? MY VISION IS BLURRED BUT MY ABILITY TO HEAR THIS MUSIC IS A GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING.

Great song! For all the old Doo Wop singers...This is the story of our lives! Keep it up Kenny!
This is so so good love the guitar work and harmonies also love Australian group ol 55 version back in the mid 70s
Today is April 9,2019 and I heard this song for the 1st time. Also this is the 1st time I heard Kenny Vance. I'm stunned. I'm 69 years young and I've always listen to music and oldies. So I've started listening to all his song on RUclips and believe that he is one of the greatest singers I ever heard. I love his voice and songs. I'll be watching to see if he comes the the Chicagoland area. Maybe the Arcadia Theater in St. Charles and I will be able to see him in person. Thanks
Me too James I'm 67

Ossie, Georgia I'm 76 how which means I grew up with REAL music but I don't remember this song back. I heard it with this band on one of the PBS shows several years ago. It became one of my favorites.
I have been blessed to have seen Kenny and his group in person over 40 times and listen to his beautiful music almost every day, Kenny has always been so nice to his fans-when I broke my neck in a terrible fall 10 years ago I was totally overjoyed to hear from him, Many times when he ended hia concerts he invited his fans to come up and greet him. A perfect gentleman. Lord, please bless him always and thank you, Kenny. HOPE YOU ARE WELL! John Rembis
I get tired of the same 4 chords in blues songs, in country western "I lost your love/I found your love" songs, but I somehow NEVER get tired of Doo Wop. I will be listening to it and singing it till the day I die. Thank you Kenny.
Beautiful memories ! Beautiful harmonies ! Beautiful melodies !
Excellent voice and song
Absolutely the greatest music ever!!! I could listen over and
Thank you for a magnificent performance..I have been on a binge for the past few months...this song and many others cuts through the covid insanity a5nd the idiot leaders like NYC and New York State
This is what i'm talking about, what a super great voice by this one of the greatest artists of all time,i love his voice so much, no comparison
Kenny was brilliant Saturday night at the Doo Wop finale'!!! He had son Ladd sing the falsetto notes, and the group brought the house down. Notice how he ends here with You Are an angel..and think how spiritually centered so much doo wop is..we are blessed in 5 part harmony.THANK YOU Kenny
