OK, so comparing a vertical -vs- any horizontal antenna on low bands: Ideally do low-angle A/B tests after midnight for longer low-band-skip not at 17:00 when skip is still high (Germany will be about 35 degrees or greater). A low-to-ground dipole (not just a delta loop) will ALWAYS outperform RX during the day over a vertical on the lower bands. The best method is to RX in stereo on BOTH antennas at the same time (left ant A and right ant B) [users need a twin VFO radio for that]. This is how I transmit my livestreams. Then for headphone users, you can actually hear the drift across your ears. Some people think QSB when it's actually polarisation changes between antennas. So I look forward to your next test! @@piquat1 go for it, great antennas and multi band without ATU. You just have to remember about radiation angles hence what Callum states above and what I tried to make clear in the video. My loop is low to the ground so better for local work, but also quieter anyway as loops are, hence why i use it as a websdr antenna
This is what I love about the hobby, experimentation. I run a 56 Meter long horizontal antenna about 10 meters high, fed with 600 Ohm open wire with a 4:1 balun, and it is a really good performer, and I couldn't be happier. However, if I didn't have a loop, and bought a DX Commander I would be very happy with it as well. The best antenna is the one that works best for you. Still, this is a good comparison and I've done a few myself and had similar results. The loop is quieter and mainly because a lot of man made interference is more vertically polarized.
Unfortunately the Anan10E doesn't have the capability due to only a single ADC. You need the models with Dual ADC for that to work such as 100D, 200D etc (D = Dual ADC!)
@@ianxbu5091 l've only found one 100 available in Europe, l believe it is the last one. I hope to place an order for a Charly25, early next month, as they are still available in Q3, it too will run Thetis.
@@ianxbu5091It is well known that verticals pick up more noise. Especially local noise. But can the Delta Loop do all the bands that the DXC can? Besides, it's not the noise level that matters, but the SNR.
@@camworkstv Yes the delta loop works on every harmonic so is a true milti bander. It was my first antenna. Its not as good on the higher bands as the vertical though. Alot of this is down to the radiation angle of both antennas. Verticals have a low angle for longer hops and the low-to-the-ground loop has a high angle which is better for short hops. Good to have both to switch between, but even then the loop simply hears better and is much nicer to listen to as you can hear...
@@ianxbu5091 I didn't have the opportunity to listen to the sound (I'm at work), but nobody prevents you from using a receiving and a transmitting antenna. Especially with transceivers with two sockets like the IC-7610. Unfortunately my 7300 has only one antenna socket, but I have no big problems with local noise here.

@@piquat1 I'd say its local so radiation angle wont effect it. It's much better at weekends or in the evening. It comes from local businesses!

I dont like the sound it makes
That noise level can be brought down even more via diversity, l like that function.

Are you sure the noise is not locally caused?
Most probably from the neighbours, but it shows how much less the loop suffers given the antennas are next to each other
