- Dr. Jun Reyes will discuss what is Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most common entrapment neuropathy, affecting approximately 3 to 6 percent of adults in the general population. Although the cause is not usually determined, it can include trauma, repetitive maneuvers, certain diseases, and pregnancy. Symptoms are related to compression of the median nerve, which results in pain, numbness, and tingling. Physical examination findings, such as hypalgesia, square wrist sign, and a classic or probable pattern on hand symptom diagram, are useful in making the diagnosis. Nerve conduction studies and electromyography can resolve diagnostic uncertainty and can be used to quantify and stratify disease severity. Treatment options are based on disease severity.
The median nerve and flexor tendons pass through the carpal tunnel. The median nerve rests on top of the tendons, just below the transverse carpal ligament. The flexor tendons are important because they allow movement of the fingers, thumb, and hand, such as when grasping. The tendons are covered by a material called tenosynovium. The tenosynovium is a slippery covering that allows the tendons to glide next to each other as they are worked.
The main focus of our treatment is to reduce or eliminate the cause of pressure in the carpal tunnel.Reyes/ Reyes Physical Therapist may check your workstation and the way you do your work tasks. We may provide suggestions about the use of healthy body alignment and wrist positions, helpful exercises, and tips on how to prevent future problems. PT may also begin treatments to reduce inflammation and to encourage normal gliding of the tendons and median nerve within the carpal tunnel.
Although time required for recovery is different for every patient, as a general rule, you may see improvement in four to six weeks. We may ask you to continue wearing your wrist splint at night to control symptoms and keep your wrist from curling under as you sleep. Try to do your activities using healthy body and wrist alignment. Limit activities that require repeated motions, heavy grasping, and vibration in the hand.

Dr. Jun. Ano po bang mairerecommend nyo po sking Dosages sa mga supplements po na nabanggit nyo po and kaylan ko po DA pat itigil. Meron po ako nyan Fibromyalgia/ostreo mag-iisang taon na po pawala wala rin pero pag umataki mahirap gumalaw at lumakad. Masakit na legs, paa, balakang, pwet, leeg, likod, at batok, braso. Hindi na po ksi ako naaarawan ng morning sunshine pang gabi po duty ko laging puyat at walang kain, at exercise.....😭😭😭🙇🏻🙇🏻🙇🏻🙏🙏🙏🙏
Doc may low back pain po ako. Ilang doctor napo nilapitan ko nagpa MRI napo ako wala parin pong nang yari. Sumasakit parin po hanggang ngayon. Nagpa xray narin po ako. Same lang nakita ng mga doctor sakin Yong spine kopo ay naka tuwid cya imbis na naka baloktot. Pero sabi ng doctor sakin ok lang daw un. Sa basketball kasi dahilan nito. Baka po may ma suggest kau sakin doc. Salamat po sana ma noticed nyo ako.
