If you need to use the temperature & contact sensors outside (they are not waterproof), the large & small sizes of Tic Tac boxes make excellent cheap covers.
Amazing video, many thanks. would it be possible to add 3rd party ie non aqara zigbee products - eg lights, plugs ad pair these with the aqara app, and then will they be exposed to homekit natively , or can I use homebrdige to link these 3rd part devices paired to the aqara hub via zigbee?
I was hoping you'd show how to set up a HomeKit automation for turning on or off a Phillips Hue light when my Aqara motions sensor detected motion. Also I'd like to see how you set up automations for a motion sensor and a temperature sensor, so I could turn on both the light and heater in a room if the temp is below a certain set point. Let me know if your have follow up videos. Thanks
Hi Andrew! Is the smart plug UL listed? I’ve read that it’s a signal extender for the Aqara products which is awesome. Can’t find any info on the UL listed aspect.
Aqara products are great but their app can use a lot of improvements. Adding true dark theme (no white background) and fonts that increases in size accordingly to accessibility text size settings. They would need to look no further than Apple’s Home app as it has both of these features. Also, ability to add custom wallpaper and/or solid color wallpaper (like solid black) would be great to have as well. Provided wallpapers tend make certain part of the app harder to read. Here hoping they can make their app as great as their products.
I am moving into a new two-bedroom apartment soon actually in a couple of weeks. Where can I find a guide for what I will have to do to set up a basic smart home system.? Thanks
I initially liked the Aqara products because they easily connected to HomeKit, but support certainly could be better. For example, when I had a vibration sensor that was sending false notifications even on low sensitivity they wanted a video of the sensor when it was sending the false notification. This request showed me how ridiculous and lack of knowledge support had about the sensor. So in my opinion a company is only as good as the support they give their customers. Perhaps I would feel different about Aqara if the camera and sensors were free.
I have the Aqara M1S that supposedly supports custom ringtones. However I can’t figure out how to add a custom ringtone to the list of existing ringtones. Has anyone else been able to do this?

Thanks for the great video! Does Aqara app allow viewing 2 Aqara cameras on two different locations on different networks?
apple homekit still has a 1080p limit?
Andrew, what home security system do you use and how's it worked out for you? Is it HomeKit integrated?
Top advice here - and with Aqara supporting Matter, they’re a great choice to start your HomeKit smart home with!
Will we be able to use Matter with Aqara as soon as it launches or do we need to wait even more? Thanks in advance
thanks for this useful video. I have almost nothing in my Home - because I can't even get apple's homePod minis to work properly!! :(

Whats the biggest pro using apple homekit mode? Really dont want to lose the 2K
We need more Aqara products in Australia. Please and thank you!
Congrats Andrew! 🎉
I thought you were going to make it tutorials about how to use that or set up shortcuts

Amazon assistant or Google home is better for Aqara system? Thank u
Do you need to use their hubs for HomeKit?
Yes, the cameras are the hubs, I don’t think you can use the sensors without an aqara hub
Congrats on your coming baby

Is there a way that I can use a keyfab for the system?
No
