No insurance company should be allowed to overrule a doctors recommendation.
If someone has paid-in and a doctor has signed off on it, they should pay, by law, in full.
Anything less than that, is practising medicine without a license and needs to be prosecuted as such.

As a pharmacist working for these companies, I can tell you we are abused to the point that it is hard to express in words. The amount of pressure on us is severe. They don't care about patients; they care about numbers-the number of scripts that are filled daily, the number of vaccines that patients receive. There are quotas that need to be met, as high as hundreds in a short amount of time, with multiple things that need to be done at once, which significantly decreases patient safety. They don't care about patients or pharmacists that work for them. We are extremely overworked and burned out.

Thanks for sharing your personal testimony and account of industry practices. Thank you for your part in change for the better. For loving your neighbors and fellow people, as well. It's a constant struggle, and those who would enslave everyone hate the dissemination of the truth. Unfortunately, for Luigi and our country, he has landed himself in another institution of our society with a history of failing to provide justice, but fulfilling the mandated 'appearance of justice', as laid forth in the foundational constitutional contract. The lower courts are not Article III, and are not judicial but work in admiralty/administrative legislated authority. Subjecting the general public to statute is against the original intent and meanings of used words...It is treason, everything they do. They try to make it 'compelling' to rebut and defend our rights, but only criminals can be subject to involuntary servitude (and compelled performance is the same thing) according to the 13th amendment. And the 14th amendment is being weaponized against the people because a 14th amendment U.S. citizen is not afforded the same protections as state citizens/U.S. nationals. Out of ignorance, most people I've asked misidentify and think they are citizens...when they would properly be calling themselves civilians. Driving...is a commercial word when the courts use it, meaning you are carrying passengers or cargo for hire. Passengers are people who pay for the ride. If it's not commercial transportation you are engaged in, then you are somehow expected to know that there is a divergence of meaning from the vernacular. Such assumptions are detrimental to your rights and the due process and equal protections of the law, as originally intended by the founders of the country.

My floating pharmacist, John, passed away one Thursday night after sending me home an hour after close.
I did not come back to work til Monday. My other pharmacist asked me how John was doing last shift. I said “Fine why, is he sick?”

“Oh… John passed away Thursday night.”
I was counting pills when I heard the news and I could no longer see what I was doing through my tears. Everyday afterwards, I could not stop thinking about John.
He was a father to 7 (most adopted), married to another pharmacist, and in his late 50s. He used to joke about how the shredder reminded him of the chuckee cheese ticket machine…
I begged my (chain) retail pharmacy to provide me with mental health services because I was struggling. How could I not picture him everyday in the same place we used to work together? How could I forget the joy he brought to the pharmacy when it had become bleak without him?
After he sent me home, apparently he stayed 3-4 extra hours. When I left, we still had 500 scripts left in the queue… it was only him and I.
I thought he would go home after me… I guess after he got home, he either died from a heart attack when he got there or in his sleep (knowing this would not have changed anything, and it would have just made me more angry regardless), but I do know I was the last person to see him alive because his family was sleeping.
I do not know if he filled all the scripts in the queue, but I can only imagine if he was there that long he did. And what was it all for?
And it weighed on me. And it still weighs on me. I begged them for help multiple times and they refused to provide me with mental health services… I was traumatized.
      I am traumatized.
But after that, I quit my 4 year Registered Pharmacy Technician career, and I don’t believe in 2 weeks.
When I’m done, I’m done, and you do NOT deserve the courtesy of knowing when. Because I have always been the most reliable, efficient and thoughtful employee at every job, so when I leave, THEY FEEL IT.
I refuse to ever be in a line of work (again) that not only perpetuates the exploitation of patients, but employees as well.

I learned this. Drugs in Canada have capped prices agreed with by the pharmacuetical companies. a drug sells for $60 in Canada, sells for $650 in the USA, both made in the USA, one is sold in Canada, the other in USA, they have a 5 year patent. When the patent expires in Canada, the drug gets a generic certification, remains on the market as a generic drug that must be sold for much less, $10.00, however in the USA that same drug that sells for $650, when the patent expires, the drug company pulls it from the market in the USA and replaced with a new patented drug that sells for much more. $780.00. Same drug sells in Canada for $60 as well. WTF. this is criminal.

I had a cancer operation in 2023. It was large and left a very large wound. After the operation I was given a change of dressing and sent home with instructions to take care of it myself, no homecare or wound-vac. The wound was on my lower back upper buttock so me taking care of it was impossible without causing damage, the wound was 7"W x 6"L x 3"D.
I went to my surgeon's office two days later to ask if his nurse could change the dressing. The nurse looked at the wound and asked me "where is the wound-vac?" I didn't know what that was so she explained it to me, I told her I didn't get one, she setup homecare. The first visit from the home care nurse she asked me the same question "where is the wound-vac" I told her I didn't get one, she changed the dressing and took a picture of the wound. Two days later her next visit didn't go well, the dressing stuck to the wound, and I ended up passing out from the pain, the nurse called an ambulance, 7 days after the operation I went to the ER with an infection and a 109-temperature that caused brain damage all because I didn't get the wound-vac. I was in the hospital for 3 days before they gave me the equipment which caused me enough pain, I passed out again when it was installed.
I spent a total of 10 days in the hospital because I wasn't given the wound-vac to keep me out of the hospital, if they had given me the equipment the hospital was only going to get money for the operation and one day a week for wound care, instead they got 10 days of money for drugs, doctors, nurses and room charges on top of the operation and wound care visits.
Every nurse and doctor that saw the picture and heard the story said I should get a lawyer. When I was able to do it, I only had 6 months before the statute of limitations hit. I spoke with over 20 lawyers, none would take the case because I couldn't pay. One even told me to just bring to small claims court.
I'm still recovering 18 months after the operation, no work and no benefits, my food stamps were taken away because a friend paid my rent a couple months and I reported it to the government, they took them away because he gave me money. I have extreme PTSD because of this whole thing and I'm finding it very hard to continue.
I created a gofundme page with the picture taken by the homecare nurse.
    gofund.me/a481ec70
Justice for me and everyone who has the same horror story will happen when it is seen like this.
I've reached out to others regarding my story with no replies, I don't want your money, I want your exposure to help spread it.

My reasoning is that if it incentivized a handful of doctors to go halfway through the harvesting process on a middle-aged man (who survived it and is now severely traumatized and disabled), they wouldn't think twice about letting me die just to reap my kidneys, liver, heart, and whatever else they want. One that we don't have is having to argue with an insurance company that we pay hundreds a month in premiums and get denied, and if we are approved we don't have to pay a deductable. that's called extra billing and its illegal in Canada. Create an affordable system made in the USA. make it happen. UHC...UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE. billions in profit. @LiangYong-k4c doesn't surprise me at all. After it got through my thick head that every other developed country has universal healthcare I started leaving hashtags like #MedicareForAll on news sites on RUclips (for some reason I can always get RUclips).
I've been doing that for about 10 years now. I got terrible insults at first. But no one could shame me. And the fact that all these friendly faces on the news shows KNEW that healthcare was available in just about any other country - and never mentioned it! That really stoked the fire that kept me going.
Even before Luigi did his thing, I'd noticed the amount and tone of comments my hashtag gets has really changed. Sometimes I even get likes!
The anger is there, and it can't help but grow. Who's going to forget their son dying unnecessarily because of lack of medication? Or your wife or daughter dying because of lack of surgical intervention? More and more people will lose their loved ones unnecessarily, and they won't forget.
President Biden has a very touching speech about gradually healing as you look at the chair where your deceased loved one used to sit.

Disgusting that it has been allowed to happen. It can be reversed, if the people want change badly enough and collectively work for it.

if Martin Shkreli went to jail for price gouging, why are these large corporation CEOs immune to incarceration

Really. That felt like a bit of rare justice, but in effect, nothing really changed. They should all be behind bars.

I am in the hospital as we speak and United healthcare just denied me acute rehab. Now I have to go home like this and try to walk so now they can just bring the rehab to my house Congress needs to force Medicare to go back to traditional Medicare and Medicaid and get rid of these price gouging people and they are costing lives anytime. It's for profit. That's what it's going to be profit for them. No help or death for you

I only have Part B Medicare (which is the original) but it doesn't include dental, hearing or vision. You have to buy privatized Part D to get medication and privatized Medicare Advantage to get dental, hearing and vision. It's another scam.

I have united HC and have cancer. Lung surgery, $85,000, kidney removal, $108,000, bladder, $25,000, broken leg, $60,000, pleural effusion, $20,000 and now EV & keytruda, $85,000/month. Why they like drugs over surgery.

Lost my dear cousin here in Italy.
The ordeals she faced and all us around her was plenty to face and deal with.
Here the universal health care covered it all.
I can't wrap my head around the idea of how a patient with the same situation, over there in the States, have also face the bureaucratic and especially the financial ordeal, and be at the mercy of a cold corporation, who's main objective is not the best possible care, but instead the most (let's say) "cost effective".
    I feel you brother.

It’s sad this scam was started by a man fed up with this shady health insurance company, shot a CEO to start an investigation.

My dad had a good job with benefits, went to work every day, even worked OT, was a good, hard worker. He literally played by all the rules.
Unfortunately, he had Type 1 Diabetes. His blood sugar became harder to manage and one day he passed out at work from low blood sugar. Then he was fired (for passing out at work).
He lost his livlihood, his insurance, and after a downward spiral ended up on dialysis and ended up dead. Before he died, was on medicaid, living in medical debt, barely surviving. Then the dialysis center tried to charge us for the appointments he missed (because he was dead). Apparently, he should have called from his grave! I was in high school and my parents were divorced. My mom had to handle all of that, I can't imagine trying to fight those bastards!
