this was an exhibition match at the beginning of the season. I was on the other team (Bingham Miners out of Salt Lake City Utah we were top ranked in our state and Trinity was top in their state as well) You can't see in the video but we also have a tradition performing the Haka. We were doing our Haka at the same time as they were. The original plan was to be face to face with them doing both Haka's but the league said that we would need to face our own sidelines. We lost the game 42-28. Mad respect to Trinity. Watching this video brought a massive smile to my face.

Going up against them would be like playing the Clemson Tigers or New York Giants haveing a freight train hit you those were some big ass boys back than .

Anyone who has played American Football AND Rugby knows that American Football is much more high impact and with much greater chance of injury. Rugby is more linear, with most contact being made after side to side movement in open field. I never got my bell rung in rugby, but bumps and bruises were much more common. The high speed multidirectional impact of American Football is much much more rough than anything in rugby, and thats coming from an unbiased view of someone who played both for many years. Its not the absence of the pads that make Rugby less violent, its the structure of the game. I love both, but I don't like the argument that Rugby is more rough, because its just not true. Although you will get more minor hurts without pads, you will get way less serious injuries.

+. Kezzakilla No I haven't. But I still maintain that rugby takes a harder toll on your body long term, and you will sustain more minor injuries along the way. But the impact and injuries of football are much worse. People feel invincible with a helmet on, and the vertical nature of football creates many more high speed impacts than rugby which sees only a few hard collisions per game. The biggest fear of most people about rugby is the size and strength of the players. But coming from someone who wasnt outsized or strength'd on the field it isnt scary at all. It's nothing compared to catching a pass over the middle, getting hit on a full speed kick return, a FB and LB meeting head on in the hole or many other aspects of American football. Anyone who has played both at a high level understands this. Most people are unfamiliar with rugby and the thought of getting tackled with no pads by a strong person scares them. And so people who have played rugby like to make it sound rougher than it really is because they know others haven't experienced it and admire the danger in it. I understood this even while playing. It's amazing how much more manly the girls thought rugby was than football, and I just thought 'oh if you only knew'. The worst hits i took in rugby wouldn't even crack the top 20 of my football career. But in fairness I did play football 15 years and rugby only 5. But still, both are great sports. I wish I could still play, but my body has been through too much. Basically in rugby you are going to be sore more, and have more bumps and bruises, but in football you will experience more events that could severely hurt you.

Mate, I can shear 300 sheep a day on a good day,on a bad day 80mins of rugby ain't got shit on shearing buddy.
And then i gotta Manage the farm pay the workers feed the kiids list goes on and on gosh and still be a casual engineer on the side.
Rugby is just a social event for me, I play for the bros and the beers only time I get to myself.
Always been fearless in everything mate ,don't matter if they bigger or what Ill drop the cunt.
And football ,Well never played don't watch it couldn't careless about it aye.
Bro, if yah wanna play rugby play it in NZ. There's not a place on earth that plays as smart hard ,fast n tough as we do!!

If the team is mostly Tongan/Samoan, why are they doing a haka when that is a New Zealand thing? (I'm from NZ btw).
Shouldn't it be the Sipi Tau or Siva Tau?

    Respect the HAKA or STFU!
The haka (/ˈhɑːkə/; plural haka, in both Māori and English) is a ceremonial dance or challenge in Māori culture. It is a posture dance performed by a group, with vigorous movements and stamping of the feet with rhythmically shouted accompaniment.

Lisa Mia. The thing you seem to be missing is that is
"in maori culture", not for who ever thinks they can invent a crap version and use it as their own.

THERE'S A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MAORI HAKA AND A TONGAN SIPI TAU!!! and this is clearly a sipi tau .. it's understood why some people would think this is Maori because a few times, they poke their tongue out which they shouldn't, in a sipi tau you don't poke your tongue out! that is traditional for Maori's.. overall this video should be renamed to a sipi tau and the boys to learn to not poke their tongue out .. respect to the tokoua's for making their own sipi tau though :)
