Interesting to show typical human parking with cars stacked right next to each other, but automated parking with at least one free parking spot between parked cars. Looks like Ford doesn't believe in their technology even in their promo video.
Ford, you did it. You made a car that can park itself in empty parking slot surrounded with no cars. Yay! I guess you haven't figured out that ad should show car parking in the same parking slot a lot faster than this guy to impress people. Also fact that parking lot have to be equipped with your parking technology makes it a garbage feature. Hyundai or Kia (can't remember which one) made it better, letting you to aim your car for parking slot and drive it forward with your key fob.
Only works in parking spaces equipped with the valet parking technology. That is like a Teslas autopilot that only works on special Tesla "autopilot-roads". 🙄
You have to start somewhere. If no manufacturer picks up a new technology then little will change. Same as with UWB, NFC, WiFi6, you name it. The usability will increase over time. I like it!
I have never see a car park so empty, and what happens if the floor that the system is based on does not have any spaces, you have not explained how it knows where there is a space, and if the car will fit, what happens if you park it and another carparks next to it weirdly making exit very hard, will the car just keep going backwards and forwards trying to escape, this has the makings of a good idea, although not new, BMW and others have been doing for a long time, and is expensive on those systems, how much will it be on a Ford, which is supposed to be (but no longer) a cheap car to own
I think most car parks with automated barriers keep track of the number of vehicles in them, so I guess this could be communicated to the car so it would only try to find a space where there are any. Problem would be if one or more people have manually parked badly, and taken up two spaces in a car park that is already full, then this could be a problem (unless they have spaces reserved exclusively for self-parking cars).
You just made an app for the car you know that this will give an easier why for hacker to steal the car. FORD you better make the car safer and get away from any app
It works when the perfect conditions are gathered.
Das ist großartig 👍
Funny if the car drives on and leaves you hanging .🤣 Sends you a text catch a ride with someone else.

Форд лучшие!!!
Hey why did you stop making the grand marquis and the crown victoria if you don't make them atleast in a suv version I will cry
Looks very easy, but I want to see it in an overcrowded parking space with very small places.
Wow it's amazing

BMW does this far better, and I loath BMW, you shoudl see the tech at work, mind you the key fob is the size of a Mobile phone....
Sweet!
What is the model?
Kuga ST Line X

Ford puma inparkeren
I guess that’s only working for cars with an electronic gear change (shift by wire)
"Shift by wire" 😅 it's usually known as automatic transmission, and the majority of new cars are automatic, especially in the US.
So…cool

It'll still be useful in some places, and thats better than no places.
