  • In this one we'll take the throttle body off of our Suzuki SV650. You need to have the gastank and airbox off to do this. In order to remove the throttle body for you suzuki sv650 maintenance, you need to get remove the gas tank and remove the airbox first. The wiring and electrical connections are pretty easy to put back together, everything matches up pretty well.

Hi! Is 2022 and your video steal relevant on the 2021 SV650. I was put a handlebar riser on my bike, and without your video, I’m not sure I was able to change the throttle cables, but thank to you, that was an easy task. Thank you so much.🙏

There are probably no Philips screws on that bike. I'm mad that I didn't find out about JIS screws until several days ago. I ordered myself some new screwdrivers. Unlike Philips, they're not actually designed to cause the driver to slip out of the screw.

My fuel injected Sv650s 2003 is having rough running issues in the midrange (backfires and hesitation). I've popped the air cleaner lid off and I can see that when I rev the guts out of it, the butterfly valves open but when I just increase the revs gradually the butterfly valves just twitch and stay closed and it backfires. I can actually see the backfire flash in the throttle bodies, presumably from an incorrect fuel air mix. Anyone have idea why the valves are opening intermittently? Is it likely mechanical, a stripped gear for example, that engages sometimes and not others, or something electrical? Thanks for posting your "how to" video. I might just need to replace the throttle body assembly sometime soon!

It looks like there's a lot of slop in the top actuator rod. It bounces around when it returns like it's operating on a gear missing some teeth or there's a broken spline or something. Might be a clue but I'm not completely sure what I'm looking at because it's the first time I've looked at a throttle body.

I sold my SV a few years ago but if I remember right, the butterfly valves are driven by cables that can get gunked up. Have you lubed the cables recently? I never got into taking apart the throttle body, i just took it off to get to the valve covers.. let me know what it ends up being though!

It's a pain in the ass to get them back on -_- hahaha It usually takes me 2 tries (after I find that I have an air leak, from the gasket not sitting correctly.) -_-
