He scored 40(37). While he helped Kohli at the beginning, he only made it tougher at the end. 26(19) to 40(37) meaning he scored 14(18) when the rrr was above 12.
But he deserves credit for his bowling and the beginning part of his innings.
This definitely felt like a world cup win. The joy, the tears of the players were reciprocated all over India. Diwali came early for India.

I was there at the game. It was just mixed emotions throughout. Sad to be on the losing side but happy to witness a great innings from Kohli and an amazing game of cricket with that atmosphere.

It's hard to explain,but there was same emotions and energy among the all indian cricket fans when Sachin used to play and win matches.

Yeah, to be honest that was also a very very special inning. Michael Hussey single handedly chased down 190 plus total in semi final match. And I still remember he was shivering in the post match session due to excitement.
Just fyi, 48 were scored in the last 3 overs that day as well. A record for most made in the last 3 overs.

As a PCT fan, I will gladly take this defeat over the ones in 2012, 2014, and 2016. This team came back strongly after early wickets which those teams wouldn't have dreamed of and posted a respectable total that they almost defended (once in the Asia cup too). Fought till the last bowl instead of just giving up after a few initial overs.
