That was amazing, I feel like you have given me wings!!!. I know that may sound corny but, you make it look so possible!!. YES…please more tutorials like this one!!!. Why not…you have the talent and I have the desire to learn. Thank you so much for your kindness. 🙏🏼💕🌷
Thank you so much. I'm a beginner and I think I can actually make these chains! If you haven't already, please make a video about how to finish the chains to add a clasp of some type. Thanks again!
Can't believe I missed this one, Nolan. Yes, love to see how you do end caps and very interested in more chai and other technique videos. This is the first time I have watched a double foxtail chain being put together and actually understood where the third link went. Thanks heaps.
Your Tutorials are wonderful! The first video I encounter about wire wrapping was a beautiful pendant made by you. Two years later and I learn every time I watch another video! I thank you so very much! God bless!
What would happen if you pull the chain through a draw plate? Thank you so much for your wonderful instructional videos. You are a great teacher, and very talented artist 🙏💗🕯️ Oh, yes please, an end cap vid would be awesome! Eta: much gratitude to the patreon members.
That is actually a fantastic question! Pulling through a draw plate would actually be much more effective than manually squeezing the whole chain. I actually filmed a few clips using the draw plate but ended up cutting them because it was challenging to see what I was doing under this camera set up. Great call though!
Could you also draw it down to make a finer foxtail chain? Not just put it through a draw plate to straighten? I’d love to make a super fine one but it would be soooo fiddly! Thank you
Brilliant, thank you. I am a beginner so this is helpful. Can I add a pendant and charms to both the chains? I like seeing you use different tools, I also like the simplistic approach. That was great you showed me how to properly make jump rings too.
Thank you! Real nice; tempo, zoom, in focus, commenting and flow. Tools: you put links to Riogrande, but I miss the link to parralel plier you use to compress chain with. I have never seen a parralel plier where the jaws are 'forced' to stay parralel like that. My pliers tends to get unparralel.
Thank you for sharing this info! In the video, you show 2 smaller foxtail chains. Could you tell me what size jumó rings and wire you used for these? Do you use sterling or fine wire for these smaller chains? Thank you!
Amazing! What do you think would be the smallest diameter you could make like this, by hand? I have seen these being sold online as thin as 1mm, but I think that would be impossible...how thin do you think would be in the realms of possible?
Amazing video, you've got such a talent for explaining things. This was so helpful and a video on end caps would be great! 😁 How big would you make the rings if you were to use a 28 gauge wire?
For the white gold chain I am working on I made rings with a 6mm internal dimension in 28g round. It has worked perfectly so far! When drawn, the chain is about 1.5mm thick
I'm wondering what size mandrel you used for the 24 gauge double? Or better yet, how can I determine the mandrel size based on the wire gauge for the double?
My guess would be 7.5mm. To get the aspect ratio of a jump ring, you use the equation Aspect Ratio (AR) = Inner Diameter (ID)/Wire Diameter (WD) So for his big links, the guage is 0.8mm and the inner diameter is 12mm. AR=12/0.8 AR=15 24 guage is approximately 0.5mm 15=ID/0.5 15 x 0.5 =7.5mm

Well said 😊

Oh my goodness! I almost fell asleep but in a good way. Your voice. And thank you! Making my own jump rings from now on.
Of course, end caps Please!
You have taught me so much and encouraged me more..thank you.

You have shown me how to make my home made chains & rings
This was the best instruction for this I've seen.
Would enjoy seeing additional tutorials like this. Nice job, and very effective teaching style.
I love the video thank you so much. You're very easy to listen to and follow along. I would love to see how to put end caps on.
Simple but elegant and not as time consuming as I thought it would be . Thanks ..❤
Super, very clear instructions to follow, please do the end cups.
Thanks
Love this instruction. Please do the end cap video.
Your Tutorials are wonderful! The first video I encounter about wire wrapping was a beautiful pendant made by you. Two years later and I learn every time I watch another video! I thank you so very much! God bless!
Amazing! You make it look so simple. I'd love to see if tutorial on the end caps.
I loved your video. Yes please more videos.
Very beautiful chains! Thank you for your tutorial. ❤
I love all your videos! This was amazing! Thank you!
Loved the video! And would love to see you make end caps. Thank you for sharing! 🖤
More videos please
Thank you keep up the good work I appreciate your help
You are very talented ♥️ A great teacher too ♥️ Thank you ❤ I don't have the heating part of the project ❤ But fascinating to watch ❤
Thank you for this very informative video.
Yes, please make video for end caps.
Thanks man that was absolutely awesome, very relaxing and yes please show us how to make end caps.
I would love to see a video on end caps! This one was great!
Yes, please make a video applying end caps to this chain style
Yes! Please make a video of soldering end caps to finish the chain.
Good tutorial.

I wondered the same thing!

Thank you I feel like I can do anything
I love it!!! This is original sorry I have to replicate this
Love your videos and I'd love to see end caps please.

Thanks 😊 like it
muy bueno, gracias
I'd like to see how to add end caps/solder the ends into a jump ring
I would like to see what you do with the end caps, pls.
When I saw the thumbnail I was expecting to see a variation of Viking knit. I was surprised.
I am going to tackle with copper, thank you for your amazing, to the point tutorials.
Love the foxtail link.
❤

Could you create the links with a soldering iron and wire solder instead? Sanding off excess solder at the connection?
Do you know how to make the Asian dragonscale chain? It’s similar but there appears to be a bar between the links
Great videos! What brand are your wire cutters?
I use the Swanstrom brand cutters and pliers!
For the 24 gauge chain, what internal diameter did you use on the rings? This was a great vid.
My guess would be 7.5mm.
To get the aspect ratio of a jump ring, you use the equation
Aspect Ratio (AR) = Inner Diameter (ID)/Wire Diameter (WD)
So for his big links, the guage is 0.8mm and the inner diameter is 12mm.
AR=12/0.8
AR=15
24 guage is approximately 0.5mm
15=ID/0.5
15 x 0.5 =7.5mm
How can I calculate how much Wire I need for my chain? Is there a formula or some way I could know how much I roughly need to buy?
End cap video please
End caps please
do you know how to make a franco?
Hi Nolan thanks for sharing Question: can I put 4 links to broaden the link
More squarish or even 8links Thanks for replying
I'm using stainless steel to create this foxtail design
Would this be possible with out soldering
Possible? I suppose technically possible, but it would be a very fragile chain and likely significantly more work to form the links
@@RaftarkJewelry thanks
you can try buying already soldered rings, some online shops do have them available
You can hardly see where/how the solder pallions were dropped anywhere.
