Only got into them a few years back, well into my thirties. Rap is not usually my bag, but Chuck D is a class apart. He's right up alongside the likes of Bob Dylan and Ray Davies in terms of lyricists, imho.

best mash up ever. public enemy tends to f up their backing tracks , and this one shows how great they'd sound with nicer bed of tone and texture.....this was sick AF.....more pls

This mash up is both funky and banging. An absolute stormer!!! Saw Public Enemy warm up for the Stone Roses in Manchester a couple of years ago. Immense!!
Public Enemy and Run-DMC built the bridge between hard rock and rap. PE is perhaps the only rap group to consistently tour and share stages with rock acts (or electronic music acts like the Prodigy). Always testing themselves against the high energy that elite rock groups bring to the table.
+John Locke not to make a comparison or to contradict... just a suggestion on something to check out... featuring rock/rap. Get the soundtrack for the movie, Judgement Night
I found Run DMC/Aerosmith thing corny, sachirrine , unsophisticated and easy. The Anthrax PE and Prodigy amalgams were way better. I don't think Walk this Way deserves its standing in rock n roll history (and by rock n roll I mean the historic sense. Any artist that had integrity, didn't sell out to brand placement and marketing
I love this mix dude! As soon as i heard Stand Up for the first time I wondered how many people would mash it with some lyrics and you've nailed it. Great job!

Wow man! Congrats to you. The fact that Liam had contact you is a sign that you made it. Excellent work bro! EXCELLENT! Saludos desde Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Saw Public Enemy open for U2 at Oakland Stadium in the 90s (Achtung Baby Zoo Tour). The ignorant, provincial, predominately 20-something San Francisco Yuppie crowd booed the band that played prior to PE offstage...The Sugarcubes, (featuring BJORK!). Those three bands had one thing in common. They were daring and original and exciting as hell onstage.
How am I only discovering this now?! This is incredible!!
RIP Keith - absolute legend
It's so funny, Public Enemy has been around for decades and at age of 58 I discovered them and absolutely love them
