  • Leave No Talent on the Table: Solving for the Gender Gap in Education
Richard Reeves spoke on April 4, 2024 at the University of Vermont Davis Center. This event was the result of shared leadership, commitment, and funding from a broad range of partners in Vermont’s philanthropic and post-secondary education communities. Several partners worked together to support important conversations about the experiences of boys and young men in our state: the Community College of Vermont, The Curtis Fund, the Insight Hub at the Vermont Community Foundation, the J. Warren & Lois McClure Foundation, the Richard E. & Deborah L. Tarrant Foundation, the University of Vermont, the University of Vermont Foundation, and the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation.
Richard Reeves is President of the American Institute for Boys and Men, an organization with a mission to raise awareness of the problems of boys and men and advocate for effective solutions. His 2022 book, Of Boys and Men: Why the Modern Male Is Struggling, Why It Matters, and What to Do About It, was described as a "landmark" in The New York Times and named a book of the year by both The Economist and The New Yorker. He is a non-resident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC, where he previously directed the Future of the Middle-Class Initiative and the Center on Children and Families.
