I regret not releasing this review earlier. Life is busy, and I really meant to write something meaningful, like the past analysis on a full album. As a RUclips premium user, I've downloaded this full album to my smartphone, so I could listen to the songs on a trip in October. I basically have listened to it some five times already now. It is impressive how much you have evolved as a musician, composer and singer. Of course, there are still mistakes, but the level you have achieved as an amateur is impressive. I tend to get emotional during long bus trips: it is a kind of melancholic feeling of being extremely alone and disconnected from everything. If the bus happens to crash and kill everyone dropping from a cliff, no one will know for some hours. I was in the middle of my first listening when those thoughts united: a feeling of completely isolation and the realization of how much you have improved. I was very proud and with tears in my eyes. The first song, as the author himself have admitted, occupies the spot of a "Smells like teen spirit" for ""Nevermind": even the chord progression reminds me of Nirvana. The song has a nice melody and Sega-like harmonies, apparently. The backing vocals are amazing. "The choices that you make aren't really yours" hits hard, and so does the will to fight the monsters. Inadequate is a very Rogger-like song, and it talks about deep psychological struggles. I happened to have this song in my mind during a test, by the way. I was destroying the pencil with a swift handwriting and my brain was "I cannot figure out a way not to feel So inadequate". I like the piano/organ in this one very much. "Tell all your friends that everything is all right (3x)" is very catchy. I don't like "Twice" very much, even though it has a heavier feeling to it. This is a bummer for Rogger, as, in his own words, "I really liked what I achieved with it, even though I probably ruined my voice"This song comes from the depths of the emotions. "I wanna heal myself (4x); I do (3x)", and I believe it. In my mind, "Burn" is very similar to "Twice" and it is not one of my favorites. The backing vocal during before the solo are dope, though. And so is the solo itself. It also is very heavy and reminds me of a Alice in Chains vibe. Very grungy. Maybe I like it more than I thought I had liked it. I like the chorus of "Too much air". It is so energetic. And the social critic is very nice indeed. How much do we pay for it? Is it worth it, breathing? "Broken" is sad and doesn't try to hide it. What do I have to say about "Fading" intro? Genius. I feel like drinking pure vodka while listening to this one. Indeed, it seems very hard to sing, and I shall not try at home unless dropping 2 octaves, perhaps. "All the things" fits the mood of the four last songs, and I really don't feel anything special about this one. "Irrational" adds more creepy layers to the whole insecurity and not-fitting ideas. I like it better than the last ones. "No, it's not irrational, Why are you so cynical". And then we come to the album's title: "Infinite Metaphor". The opening is already epic, and the heavy guitars entering afterwards just add more to it. The whole environment is epic. The guitar melody is beautiful. "Please help me find the door/I need to find a way out/ Outta this infinite metaphor" is such an amazing chorus, this is certainly one of my favourites, yet only compared to "Fight the monsters". We then have a version of a song from the era I met Rogger for the first time, 2015. I really don't remember the old version, but this one is pretty solid. I really like the drum loop with the vocals only. "Go / Lemme know" is very catchy. It was prob solid in 2015 and still is in 2023. "Titan" is also one of my favourites from this album. GET THE NEWS TO TITAN is certainly less sad the most of the rest of the songs, even though it can probably be considered depressive for normies. Amazing song in general, outstanding lyrics and keyboards. How to end an album? With a dead end, of course. The closing song has in its heart the mark of the album, for sure. But it also has a kind of epic and hopeful melody during the vocal breaks. Or it might be only my imagination to see light in a dead end. Could it be a fire? I think I probably haven't felt much about half of the album because my mental state in general has been slowly improving from the past years, it doesn't mean many songs are not nice.
