    So very helpful! I knew there had to be a way to make it easier, like home made report sheets with floor nursing. New to home health/ oasis and the cheat sheet is perfect!

    New to home health and its been interesting. I'm reviewing the handout now, and it is so clear and concise in comparison to the mammoth size document I reviewed during orientation. Thank you so much!

      I'm surprised you were able to do a rotation in Home Health. It's often looked down on in schools. Thanks for watching!

    I do a mobility assessment with each patient but not as thorough as you mentioned. I would like to improve, however, my start of care already takes 75 minutes. Some patients take forever to do any activities like they have all day to get it done like putting on their shoes. I could see a mobility assessment taking 30 minutes alone. Any tips on speeding up that process with patients who are fairly independent but move very slowly or have a hard time following instructions?

      Good question. For me, if the patient moves very slowly, I'll plan a follow-up visit within the next few days to confirm the rest of the info. You can also get input from OT if they eval soon after. You technically have 5 days to complete that info. If you're required to submit the SOC immediately by your agency you can always submit it with your best assessment of what you anticipate and then have it returned to you to adjust as needed after a follow-up visit.

    Hi Trevor, was curious how long it typically takes to complete an OASIS SOC. Duration in home and time documenting post visit would be super helpful, thanks!

      Hey Nate, for me, I spend about 60-70 mins in home plus another 45-60 mins documenting after. That includes the PT eval after the OASIS. If you're just starting, it's not uncommon to spend 1.5-2 hours in home and another 2.5-4 hours documenting.

      @@TrevorMinerPTDPT thank you! Also, if a company weighted a SOC at 2 points, does that include the evaluation even though evaluations are weighted 1.5 if performed on their own? Or if you did oasis and evaluation would that total 3.5 points in this example?

    • @TrevorMinerPTDPT
      @TrevorMinerPTDPT  2 года назад +1

      @@natelance9526 The 2 points is for the whole thing. SOC + PT Eval. They don't consider it separately.

    I am attempting to download the SOC assessment tool. In the video you say its free. On the website it says its 5 dollars.

      Yep. It's $5 now. The previous one, mentioned in the video, was free. The current one for the current OASIS is $5.
