my husband is always laying "theory" on me (which I could care less about) But the way you explain it makes it REALLY COOL. I'm going to go back and deeply study your parts 1,2 and 3. I have a feeling it will help me a lot. Thanks. Back when I was a kid studying classical, my teacher was always encouraging me to take a theory class. (Like, No way! BORING!) LOL.
Your videos are really educational. Can you share some tips for playing with the left hand. I tried your EAE while playing afdea on left. Not sure how you came up with afdea? Interested in the methodology. Thank you so much.
Hi Jared, I am a worshipper who loves music and playing instruments however I have always been held back mentally by a disability in my right arm which makes me have to play with one hand. Every tutorial I see online obviously caters for both hands but I happened to come across your videos and RUclips and felt it could help me but I would like a little more guidance as I’m using just one hand. Can you help me please? I have started playing the keyboard for my church but want to improve my skill and take away the limit in my mind of playing with one hand
*okay question, good sir: is that inversion for minor7th chord a popular one; like the 1-5-6-4 progression?* *I incorporate that 5th in the bass left hand too!* *I need to now start incorporating the minor7 to minor chords and maj7 to my major chords..* *ACTUALLY …can that too be implemented: C, F, G, Am -> Cmaj7, Fmaj7, Gmaj7, Am7* *your videos are so informative even for intermediate players!* 🏆
Thank you! Yes, it’s most common in contemporary worship music to play the 7th tone within the chord using that inversion shape. We hear the minor 7 instead of minor triad frequently. In fact, they can usually be substituted for minor chords on a chord chart without any problem. But that’s not necessarily the case in other styles of music. As far as the Maj7 chords goes…that drastically changes the sound of the chord. They’re not typically substituted for major chords and should be used only when inidicated on the chord chart. I hope that helps.
You are a blessing to my life. This channel is helping me alot. GOD BLESS YOU.
