I checked with Cricket today, and they told me to go see if it might be the phone and maybe get it replaced at the phone doctor close to them, because I thought it may be a grounding issue, but I am going to send the SMH10-11 back to them TwoWheelObsession . I am sending them the receipt for where I got it from. I got it from Heartland Honda, where I got the bike from, and it retailed for 219.98, but was sold to me for cheaper than that. I hope I can get a 20s as a replacement instead of another SMH10-11 if this is a major problem product wise, or if I just got a bad unit that may have been abused before I got it in the dealership. Judging from the video you did, it seems that it might be a product wide problem, and not just an isolated incident on one bad unit. I hope you will show this video to Sena, or I will tell them about it when I talk to them again.
Thanks for the information. I will look into getting the 20s if they can not fix it. I am also going to see if there might be a grounding issue with my motorola smartphone as well.
TwoWheelObsession Thanks for the shoutout. I uploaded a video called "Trip to Heartland Honda for a Sena SMH10-11 receipt". I am also going to see if there may be a grounding issue with my motorola smartphone that I have with Cricket. I am going to check with Cricket today to see if it a grounding issue, before I send the SMH10-11 in for a replacement.
I had my bouts with this setup as well. I reinstalled the firmware on both as well as reset them. I finally got decent sound plus UHD voice, however, the next day that stopped & only got regular voice. Tried everything to get UHD again plus the popping noise started. After many back & forths with Sena, they said my GP10 was bad and are sending me a new one. I also got the popping noises through the SMH10 & my Garmin zūmo 665 unit and like your test, it miraculously stopped and all music & phone functions now work fine, just not the GP10. We'll see what a new GP10 will do, hoping it works fine as mine did for a day. Ugh!
thehexter1 I know my GP10 is good, #1 it works perfectly with the 20s unit, and this is the 2nd one. I had already had it swapped out when testing the 20s problems just to be sure. The static is 100% a SMH10 problem. Like I said it's there helmet to helmet, nothing to do with the GP10.
Funny, my GP10 worked beautifully for a couple of days once I got the sound issue working then UHD stopped and popping started. Also on the GPS/XM unit but that stopped, not the GP10 popping though. I have a felling it'll end up being the SMH10 that's faulty, we'll see. Works great helmet to helmet, music, GPS and phone. Now, get some sleep!
Yes, I can also confirm that the 20s to gp10 is a far better connection. Each headset has a priority list for the features, the smh10 does not have as solid of a priority software for the Gp10 as it was a new product deep into the smh10 production cycle. Renegades issue has to be in the smh10 or gp10 - either way, the smh10 just has to much white noise.
Thanks 3XDH, it's just that the damn thing work so well for a couple of days with the GP10. I sure wish Sena had a recommendation that the 2 shouldn't be used together. Oh well, live and learn.....

Smh10 and Gp10 still work fine - I used them in my Utah vids with only a few mishaps. They are just not optimal given that the 20s is available
I still hear a hissing sound when you are talking into your wife's helmet in the background. It happens when I am on the road as well.
