Which city do you prefer .. Aberdeen or Inverness. I am trying to think of a new destination for my wife and I and fancy combining both of these cities. I didn't actually know, until a couple of days ago that there is actually a direct LNER train from Newcastle to Inverness, as well as one from Aberdeen to Newcastle. My wife and I both like LNER, the trains are good and more importantly, you can select the seats you want at the time of booking. Their website shows a seating plan from each carriage which you can select from. Most other UK companies just ask for a preference, then they allocate seats for you. Trying to get two seats together at a table on a recent trip to Liverpool was a nightmare, with TransPennine Express. I phoned them, they suggested I book any seats, then phone back then they MIGHT be able to do something .. what a lot of faff .. LNER system works perfectly, so why can't the other companies do the same ? Do the trains in Norway let you book specific seats ?
It’s hard to choose between Inverness and Aberdeen. Two very different cities, I think they are both nice cities worth visiting. Good point about the seat reservation. I haven’t travelled with trains in Norway the last 15 years, so I am not sure. I should think it is on the long distance trains. Trains are not the best way to move around here in western Norway.
@@oluwoleodetola1626 I could not answer that, since I don’t live in Aberdeen and don’t know much about the subject. But I do know that Aberdeen is the oil capital of the UK.
