Middle school I use to go around with our custodian and help clean up things. He did it because I was "the problem child" but he didn't see me that way and it meant a lot. Even does now.
He certainly sounds like a caring soul, and to do so much for the children, helping them out when he isn’t even asked, it helps restore your faith in human nature. 💙💙💙
This is the America we all long for. Imagine, if all governments, Federal, State, and Local, treated their constituents the way this man treats his young charges. Thank you Joe...
I am from NJ. I never thought I would watch Idaho local news, but Nate won my heart through his dedication to JJ and Tylee. I, now, watch everything he focuses on. He is a shining star in the news world. Feel Good Friday is so uplifting...THANK YOU NATE and THANK YOU for celebrating the hard work custodians do every day
Thank you boys for being such caring students. Having worked in a school for 19 years the custodians don't get the credit they deserve. You can see the love Joe feels for his students and his job. Enjoy your gifts Joe you certainly deserve them.
Thank You, Pam !! My Family And Everybody At The Big Church We Went To Loved Our Custodians, A Husband & Wife Team Who Both Retired After 50 Years Of Service. Everything Was Always So Clean And Just Like It Was Supposed To Be At Church Inside And Out. I Loved Going Thru The Line On Wed Nite For Supper At Church Where Mr. & Mrs. Washington Cooked And Served Everybody Their Good Food !!
I'm glad I was raised to know the janitor deserves the same humanity as anybody else.. people look down on those kind of jobs but they're the ones who make the world go round
I'm so impressed with his speaking skills, my niece is deaf and I know how difficult that can be to master. Then to be so loved on top of it, he really has a blessed life.
Nate, your Feel Good Friday stories are salve for the soul and love for the heart! Joe, you deserve the recognition and more - what a great example you set for the students. And the two young students that nominated Joe, you are already on your way to becoming good, loving adults. That you recognize and honor someone else’s hard work is so touching. God bless you all! 😊💗
I always noticed the custodians at each school I went to. Every one of them that I remember were humble and hard working. I love this news segment and wish more news channels focused on positive stories like this.
These just bring me joy! We need more of this in the world! Even if it’s just people expressing appreciation! Sometimes that’s the greatest gift you can give someone!
He got 2 gift cards. One was for a certain choice of stores. The other was for some hunting and fishing store. So, he got $100 in gift cards. Still, I'm thinking, "Is that all?" They probably could have asked some of the families in the community to make a donation and gathered a lot more than that.
Love 💞 how Joe is so humble, thankful grateful and more. He really loves he job a d the children keep him young at heart. What a blessing he is to his community and he enjoys every minute of it. He has the community that loves him and loves them back. That was so very nice to recognize his hard work and thank him for all he does. Very heartwarming. 💞💞💞💞
It's wonderful to see a man receive recognition for a job which most people don't think twice about. I'd also like to thank the parents of the boys for raising them to be mature, respectful kids!
so cool good no great kids!!!! seeing beyond what reaps for them.... Joe KUDOS!!!!! what a WONDERFUL COMMUNITY I LOVED IDAHO WHEN I VISITED THE PEOPLE ARE TRULY THIS NICE
I've been out of middle school for 23 years and can only vaguely remember a couple of my teachers, but I fully remember our custodian. His name was Bob, and he was a great man. Everyone looked at him like an old uncle and when we acted up, he could get all of us in line quicker than any of the other staff could. He'd simply walk to the middle of the cafeteria, wave his arms in the air and say "Alright, alright, let's everyone give it a rest now." Bob was awesome, and he was only one of many awesome custodians out there. Thank you all!!!
I will say this, I still remember Walter, custodian in elementary school, and Andy the custodian in middle and high school. Both were the icons of the school. By the way I am 64. These guys made an impression.
God Bless you Joe. Janitors and Custodians are the silent workers who more often than not make the biggest difference and impact on all of our daily lives simply by keeping the environment clean like the floors vacuumed, the tables wiped down, the bathrooms sanitized, the windows washed, and trash emptied and so much more and they are rarely even recognized let alone thanked for what they do. It really doesn't ever cross most of our minds what they do and how much they effect our lives Image what your daily routine would be like everyday if you didn't have the cleaning crew or the single janitor in this case doing what they do to prepare the environment for the next day. They are some of the true silent hero's.
That was So Refreshing watching those kid's wanting to give Joe something special. I just adored Joe's remark to Nate, straight faced, I CAN'T TAKE BRIBES- when Nate started telling him about the Gift cards... Way to go Guys..... 🌟♥️🌟🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you Owen & Dane for telling and showing how wonderful Joe is. Also for helping Joe do his work that shows a lot of intelligence and compassion. Your parents must be so proud of you both.
Or the people who don't like the cheapness of a TV station that makes money off of this segment due to the worthiness of this individual and then turn around and hand him cheap little trinkets so they can congratulate themselves for being so magnanimous.
Thank you for the heartfelt message and it’s so awesome to see others recognizing kindness ☀️🌎🙏 I wish to move to East Idaho I’ve been watching for years from Florida! Nate Eaton your a lovely human !!! You bring joy by sharing stories like this ! I can’t wait till Xmas !!!!
I love that the kids know enough to appreciate what he does and nominated him. Janitors don’t get enough praise for all they do.
Yep. School is like a little city. Many people are involved in making it work but too often all we think about are the teachers and students.
Middle school I use to go around with our custodian and help clean up things. He did it because I was "the problem child" but he didn't see me that way and it meant a lot. Even does now.
Spiffy kids. They appreciate the people that make their life easier.
Good parents too!
Now there's a word for we don't see enough of and we should see more of... Spiffy!
as a retired teacher i say that the custodian was my most valuable resource in the school!...KUDOS!!!!!!!!
Awesome
You are so right. It’s so important to show them our appreciation
my sister spoil the custodian. Bring them food and that. She said got to keep them happy incase you in them.
I'm glad to see Joe getting recognized for all his hard work. He's truly deserving of this.
Desring of recognition, yes. As for the gift cards, he deserves a LOT more.
@@andrewvelonis5940 YEAH LIKE MORE THAN GIFTCARDS
@@andrewvelonis5940 Yes exactly, for 27 years of service, a $50 gift card, I'm speechless
GOD Bless Joe & these two 6th graders who let us know about Joe .. 🙏🏼🇺🇸✝️💫♥️
He certainly sounds like a caring soul, and to do so much for the children, helping them out when he isn’t even asked, it helps restore your faith in human nature. 💙💙💙

That was very sweet of those young men. And joe is a special guy to look out for all those kids
God Bless Joe! It is a heart warming ! I was a custodian and i loved the kids and teachers! 😇😁😘

What a good man 💯 nice to see hard working normal people get the credit they deserve 👏
As a CODA ( child of a deaf adult) this made my day. Thank you Joe 😊
These kids have some great parents. These kids are more mature and appreciative than a lot of adults. Well done!!
Loves his job and does it very well no matter how much he makes. He shows dignity, pride, and caring.
Joe's story is so important. Children need to know how hard some of us work and Joe's a testament to that. Great story Nate!
What lovely boys to appreciate him and nominate him. Jim you are a good soul and you are good for their soul. 💙
Most custodians/janitors are like that. The spiffiest of spiffys
The parents of these boys have done a great job! They have raised some terrific young men.
I'm glad I was raised to know the janitor deserves the same humanity as anybody else.. people look down on those kind of jobs but they're the ones who make the world go round
Fair play for the Lads that did that, all those that helped him during Covid. He came across as a really nice guy. Well deserved.
I'm so impressed with his speaking skills, my niece is deaf and I know how difficult that can be to master. Then to be so loved on top of it, he really has a blessed life.

He's certainly worthy of a lot more after 27 years of service!
These just bring me joy! We need more of this in the world! Even if it’s just people expressing appreciation! Sometimes that’s the greatest gift you can give someone!
Sounds like JOE needs a Raise in pay.. !!!!!
Everybody Needs That; However, After 27 Years
Joe Seems Pretty Happy !! 😎
And, I Bet He LOVES To Be Off On Weekends For 🧢 🎣 !!
I didn't hear any complaints about his salary.
Yes, I thought that too! His salary is probably not that substantial. A little more money by the end of the month is always welcome.
@@kayeruss7313 This type of person never complains.
$100 in gift cards? I suppose it’s something, wish it was more.
Good vibes! I just love them! My heart is just full.
I love these segments. He was awesome as well as those boys! ❤️👍🙏🏻🥰
Cmon you can give him more than that. Let him spend some time with the teachers students and the families. 27 years he is like a family at the school.
I said the same thing just now i posted a shame on you for acting like $50 bucks was a gift i had a rant im horrified.
