I mean, Melgarejo did great. No question about it. But how is it possible that Ishikawa is not the MVP of this match? Both did great and numbers show it. Ishikawa's total points was 18 while Melgarejo's was 15. At this point, it is still too early to decide who is the MVP, because even if the total points is not the top, there are still factors such as "whether he scored in important situations" and "attack success rate". But look at the box score. Melgarejo has 12 points and 2 errors on attack with a 40% success rate while Ishikawa has 14 points and no errors with a 63.64% success rate, Melgarejo has 2 points on block while Ishikawa has 3 points on block, and they both have 1 point each on service aces. One thing Melgarejo did better was his service. Melgarejo hit a total of 8 services with 1 ace and 1 error, while Ishikawa hit a total of 12 services with 1 ace and 3 errors. But I think this is not that important factor that outweighs other stats. Don't get me wrong, I love Melgarejo. In the games he has won MVPs so far he's done very well and helped his team win, even though he started on the bench. As I watched those games I was thinking that he should be in the starting 6 (even if his reception is not great). And of course I know at the end of the day MVP or not is not that important because winning is everything for team sports, but still, why...?
Still don't get why Yuki was not the MVP of this match. Both did great but Yuki did excellent job from receiving, attack, dig, top scorer. Everyone thought he was MVP. He has something with Milano? Really confused
