Idk why but this reminded me of the time my sister backed our dad’s new Porsche through the closed garage door. She forgot to open the garage before stealing our dad’s dream car which we were barely allowed in as a passenger. She definitely didn’t have permission to drive it at 16 years old. Lol she was in so much trouble

Took me a few rewinds but it dawned on me that the car was empty! I was like why would someone do that and then just sit in the middle of the street?? I have held a full UK driving licence for many years. No matter what (Manual) vehicle I am driving, when I leave it, I apply the parking brake (Hand brake) and I ALWAYS, but ALWAYS, leave it it gear.............just in case! Some time ago, the "just in case" prevented one situation from occurring.

That could have been dangerous, a kid could have been playing like kids do sitting on the ground and that person didn’t secure the car in park and didn’t apply the parking brake. Or maybe it was a manual transmission and they left it in neutral and no park brakes on.
It was insanely lucky because there WAS a kid!!! Not even 6 feet away!!! S/he climbed out of a car parked on the far side of the road and walks up the stairs to the house across the street.

I went over & knocked vat the door. Danny was in the house but had headphones on. His car was now blocking n the street so I just kept knocking which made his dog, Sandy, start to bark. He finally came to the door & I said his car had hit the fire plug & was now blocking the street! His car was dented but the fire plug was fine!! If not for the fire plug, it would have hit my house!!
Ya know it's funny. I fucking hate hornets. I was in the middle of an intense battle with a hornet at the drive thru one time. My foot legit slipped off the brake just enough to tap someone's backend. Kicker was immediately after the contact, I got stung.
Even if it didn’t have the parking brake on, it should not have come out of parking gear in the park setting. There have been recalls. He should check.
Many times the weight of a vehicle alone can overcome the compression the engine provides. This is why leaving it in gear(on a standard transmission) is not enough to ensure it will stay in place. You need to set the parking/emergency brake also.
No matter what weight the vehicle is, if you leave it in the opposite gear to which way the vehicle is facing, it will NOT roll. If parked on a downward slope, select reverse and if facing uphill, select first gear. It will not roll, no matter the weight.
They've hit my car previously.... so yes. I bought cameras shortly after my old van was totalled in a hit and run. Luckily the person that hit my old van admitted guilt later on, but that's not usually the case.
Cameras around the house and in the car are an investment. Whatever happens, whether it's your fault or someone else's you have the it on "tape" And always turn your wheels to the curb, set your brake, AND put it in gear! 👍
The time I pulled on my handbrake and it rolled forward, the pin fell out the cable fell onto the floor, the wire clip fell off months ago and than at that moment I knew what it was, luckily it didn't happen later than it did and it was just luck.
This reminds me of the shopping carts that seem demonically possessed caught on Tesla cams, just rolling from the cart corrals, completely on their own. :-)
that's a handbrake failure, red car is likely a manual, this is why you leave the car in first on an uphill and reverse on a downhill when you park a manual transmission car, if your handbrake fails the transmission should prevent it from rolling

I did the same thing in my parents VW Beetle, playing with the handbrake and the stick shift, got out and watched the car roll back and across a 2 lane street into a telephone pole. this baby did the same with the two vehicles as seen in this security video.
That sucks for both parties involved in this cause neither one did anything wrong . This was simply a mechanical fault and is hard to catch it before it happens . Hope the insurance company's paid or assisted with both repair bills .

It's a wide angle camera so if I turn it, I'll catch the side of my house, the neighbors house, and miss part of the driveway. Everyone keeps telling me I can flip the video in the RUclips editor, I just haven't figured out how to yet. I guess I won't have a future in video editing. 😄

THATS WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND AT ALL.... most vehicles won't allow you to remove the key from the ignition if you are **NOT** in park.... so either they left the keys in it and knew it wasn't safe..... or they don't know how to use their own vehicle... I just hope they have insurance... smh..

There were certain model Fords, Mercury's & Lincolns if the vehicle was on and in park, the transmission would automatically on occasion into reverse. Ford knew about this problem, but not until there were deaths and serious injuries did Ford put in a recall.. never buy Fords products. 👍
It seems to me the car is a manual transmission and was parked with the e-brake, unfortunately wasn't put in gear as well and gravity did what gravity does🤣. I've been there so I speak from experience fortunately in my case the driveway is shorter and no harm was done other than having my car in the middle of the street🤣

This is complete negligence. Blows my mind how this is even possible. If it’s a manual it’s so simple. Park brake and in gear. Done. No excuses.
