Hey Mike, the wrestling open day is tomorrow and im so excited, they have different workshops such as a promo station, an entrance station and doing drills in the ring such as rolls and running the ropes. Couldnt tell you how excited I am, thanks for providing all these videos so i know some key tips before going.
Other than my online classes, the majority of in-ring stuff I do is up at The Wrestle Factory, which is located just outside of Allentown, PA. Maybe I'll see you there!
I must say that Highspots’ customer service is really bad. However when other things go wrong for me they are a decent alternative, aside from the fact that they sent me a set of gear in the wrong color and then told me they sent me exactly what I asked for, then took over 3 weeks to send me the right pair after returning them.
@@TilWeMakeIt Yeah. I’ve recently had to resort to them for some blue biker shorts, because getting some custom made would end up taking too long. I’ve literally not even gotten a conformation email of the order even, so I have no idea if the shorts will be here in time.
Thanks for having this channel! Although I don't think I'll start a pro wrestling career at 40, your channel has to be the most insightful on the practicalities of how to get started, and is very intriguing to watch. Question about boots: I just want a pair for a Bret Hart Halloween costume, but are they durable walking around outside? The $60 costume ones are garbage I'm sure, but RD Boots regularly has clearance models for $100.
I am not a wrestler or aspiring to be, just a big fan that being said I love all your videos because I always like to learn more about this art form. From local guys I know I've heard what normally happens is someone finds a good gear maker then word gets around, the gear maker gets overloaded and starts missing dates, eventually gets out of it.
When it comes to gear, the big gear makers who make some for the superstars ... they focus on the superstars so expect it to be pricey and expect it to take a while so have patience. Have patience for all gear makers. eLucha and High Spots are okay for beginners. Everyone starts somewhere, once you find a gear maker you can build a good working relationship. When you ask other wrestlers I find some people are hush hush about it bc they don’t want to overload their “guy/gal” and take away from their own return time. Some people are happy to tell you who made their stuff! I also had a gear maker i gave a 6 months heads up and ordered for Mania weekend. She quit making gear a month before manía weekend and deleted her social media. So yup there goes my payment. I can hopefully take it up with PayPal
As a wrestler and gear designer working with the Elucha team I can tell you that they have invested a lot in new equipment recently to give a better answer for wrestlers on all levels. The only problem you'll probably hear about them is it takes them forever to answer emails 😬😂
I think I’ve become too much of a smark. I have the opportunity to wrestle but then don’t know if I should or not because I’m a very sheltered non independent person so that’s also scary but tbh I don’t want anything else in life.. 😂
I got some good gear but I’m looking for specific types as a primary set, pants specifically right now. What are your tips for finding specific types or brands(not sure what to call it..) I’m doing bray Wyatt type of pants with some other inspirations added on. The pants I have now are stiff material which is fine just not expected.
Hi Mike, I’ve been watching your channel and the truth is the way in which you explain everything that is needed to enter the wrestling business is excellent, which very few do and you do it with all the pleasure and I admire you for that. As for wrestling gear, I wanted to ask you if it’s possible to wrestle with jeans, since I’ve seen wrestlers who do it often (Juice Robinson and Jon Moxley for saying some of them) my question is what kind of jeans they must be to carry out a good match and performance?
Thanks for these kind words, Victor! It is possible to wrestle in jeans, as you noted some prominent examples. The jeans MUST have a lot of stretch in them though. Some wrestlers get custom made tights/pants that look like jeans, designed to be used in the ring.
Not topic of this video ... But I am a bigger guy think upper 300s. I want to get better at my chain wrestling however my problem is training partners have short arms and cannot reach around me... So then I feel like I didn't get a good look or give a good look...

Dimon Ibidem was my middleman for a mask. He sent a photo of the finished mask, so it did get made. I sent 50 bucks for express shipping from Mexico city, on December 17, 2021. He flaked on me. Stopped answering his Instagram.
@@TilWeMakeIt Yes it really is. When she did some gear for me in secret, it was amazing. I couple of years ago, I lost my brother, and, as a tribute to him she made up some black tights, with the Mandalorian skull on one leg, and his name in Aurabesh (Star Wars alphabet) on the other, I then went out and got my first match win in them.
Sir.I want to know that is there any wrestler who were introvert before. Shall i need to change myself from introvert to extrovert from now on?.I am happy being introvert and it stop me to follow my dream of becoming a wwe superstar.
A good example of an introvert would be Jon Moxley/Dean Ambrose. A reminder that having anxiety doesnt mean you're an introvert. In Jon's case, i believe he is nowadays a confident introvert, but if you're someone anxious you really need to learn how to manage it for life in general. I'm not going to talk much on wrestling specifically cuz im not experienced so I'll leave it to Mike
You can still be an introvert. But confidence will make you seem extroverted and out going. What you get started in wrestling, with the networking and hanging with the boys.... you just might find you’re not so introverted as you think you are.
Been in plenty of locker rooms with introverts in wrestling. When they go through that curtain their charisma comes out in a big way but in the locker room they sit by themselves and listen to music on headphones or read a book And it's understood that they don't want to be bothered and it's not a rude thing You can talk to them but they just prefer that quiet time and there's nothing wrong with that. One of these guys that I'm talking about is a major star at AEW And he just is this quiet guy that just you would never believe in a million years that he would be So calm and quiet sitting in the corner reading a book with headphones on while everyone else in the locker room is being a goof lol So yes as an introvert I believe you can make it in the wrestling business and you can make it big. Good luck with your goals man, I believe in you!
Ok so maybe someone here can help me, Im starting out as a pro wrestler in Europe so most of the gear makers are a no go for me. My main question is not where to get stuff but the material: Can leather be used for biker shorts? I have an idea for my gear but im not to sure if it works out. They will most likely be made by a tailor.
@@GentlemansCombatives well I did and they said if its done right its possible. I then just took the risk and had leather biker shorts made by having a "501" style leather "jeans" shortened to above the knee and a strip of elastic sewn in on the outside of the legs. I've wrestled 5 shows with it so far and can't complain. P.s.: I really like your "Old school shoots" videos👍
Question: If I wanted to wear a singlet in the ring, would buying a singlet from a wrestling website geared towards like collegiate wrestling/Olympic wrestling suffice in a pro wrestling ring?
@TilWeMakeIt thank you! I saw that the singlets on elucha and highspots were super basic and worn by everyone and saw some really cool designs on other sites but didn't want to waste money! Also, I just bought your 7 ways book on amazon yesterday! It's a great read and has made me really rethink about some things as someone currently training
Well, everyone stops at home to wash gear from time to time, but that aside, I've absolutely known wrestlers who have stuff overnighted to the next hotel they are staying at, and arrange for the package to be held at the front desk.
Does anyone know a wrestling/boxing shoe that’s flexible at the toe and high top? my gimmick is similar to RVD’s with a lot of kicks and stuff. kick pads will be over the shoes so design doesn’t really matter. Thanks
Thomas, I've seen these, but only rarely. Come to think of it, more outside the US than in, but even so - rare. I believe the really high top versions of this shoe are for boxing practice, not wrestling. And for what it's worth, I've only ever seen them in all-white, or all-black.
No matter who you buy from, pad out the delivery window. So many things can go wrong on that front. Does Highspots have lots of basics covered at affordable prices? Yes. Are they the "absolute best in every department"? Eeeeeeeh....
