    dude before i even knew you were doing this i started doing this in my room (i still live with my parents... fantastic...). I don't know about how it makes you feel but i like to get rid of trash and things i dont use and then kind of clean and reorganize my stuff a little bit. it really helps my stress level a lot as im a person who becomes very anxious when things around me are messy and disorganized. anyways i've loved this series so far! keep it up, your house is looking really great! :)

    These videos have inspired and motivated me to do my own decluttering especially since I’m home and have time to do so due to the cold and snowy days, welcoming the new year with an uncluttered home and mind sounds like an amazing way to start. Thanks a bunch!

    I think this is possibly my favorite series yet. It’s so satisfying and you are just so real when it comes to stuff like this and you don’t try and put on a fake personality and acting like you have a perfectly clean house and I really appreciate it 💕

    when you declutter the drawers in a hallway make room for your cables/equipment so they're concealed & still in the same accessible location :)

    One of my goals for this week is to declutter my entire room and watching your videos every day keeps my motivations up to start the daily tasks I've planned to achieve it. So thank you !
    Hugs and kisses to you 3 (4 by now ?).
    Take care ♥

    We did this in our home--well, part of our home--this past weekend. I just had our downstairs bathroom totally gutted and redone and the dust and mess left behind by the contractors spurred us to clean. They also left behind industrial size garbage bags. (They're also coming back to haul away the demolised bathroom, so they'll take those as well.) So we cleaned and decluttered and got rid of so many broken pieces of furniture and crap that had accumulated since we moved in. It's cathartic and liberating to see it all go.

    maybe put some baskets for your filming things on the white dresser. makes it more organized. :) or shoe boxes just to keep everything more orderly.

    For cords I like to wrap them up neatly and use little jelly hairbands, one time around and then you can store them in a basket together :)

    You could empty the top drawer and then keep your camera equipment in there. That way they are put away but still in the same place that you already keep them. X

    • @Katrinberndt
      @Katrinberndt  7 лет назад

      That's true! ^^ Then I just need to find space for what's in the top drawer hehe.

  • @theavidpatient

    Camera equipment storage: those boxes that you hoard [not for the important electronics] diy them into something you find aesthetically pleasing. Organize your cables and equipment in them. Perhaps you could put shelving above on the walls and keep it there so space is cleared below. Just an option, again you do not habe to do this. You could buy aesthetically pleasing boxes, but I love the thought of repurposing and recycling what you already have.

    omg im a box hoarder too. whyy?? I mean I get why I should save boxes for re-selling or if the product needs to be returned for some reason but they keep so much space in the end! makes my brain fuzzy!

    • @sputnikl727
      @sputnikl727 7 лет назад +1

      Why do you need the box to sell it later? Also if you havent returned it in a couple of weeks then you wont and the warranty works without the box also

    • @Katrinberndt
      @Katrinberndt  7 лет назад +4

      It's just nice to sell things in original boxes haha.

    • @itszozzy
      @itszozzy 7 лет назад +3

      Yeah, I think it adds value to the product you are selling. Even if it's used!

    • @sputnikl727
      @sputnikl727 7 лет назад +1

      Yeah no it doesnt. Nobody cares about the box its the condition of the item not if it has a box I have to throw away when I get home :D

    • @carolann811
      @carolann811 7 лет назад +3

      I think I'd appreciate getting something used in its original packaging, especially electronics. It seems the most logical way to send something to someone. Electronics update so often now that it seems almost a given something will be sold before it wears out or breaks. (That said, I'm not a box hoarder, but do see the value in saving electronics boxes.)

    A great tip how to organize cables is with paper rolls (look it up on google) it really helps with keeping them nice and organized 🤗

  • @gabajamrozinska3347

    I have a seperate cupboard for camera stuff (all the boxes are there too!), camera and my main gear is in a photo bag on a seperate shelf. I keep all chargers and cables in two small boxes - one for everyday use and one for things I rarely use. And for over a month I have a new second desk (same as yours for makeup stuff :D) so I keep my external drives, graphic tablet and all earphones in one of its drawers. Boxes and clear containers are extremely helpful to keep things organized inside of closets, cupboards and drawers. There's no such thing as too many storing boxes :D

    This is inspiring me to finally declutter my room... its such a disaster that I have no clue where to start sometimes. You could use a camera bag to organize your equipment and keep your spares in a compartmentalized box? Idk just an idea :) anyway love your videos Kat ❤️

    I use a big key hook thingy for some of my cables.. I just rope them up and hang them from the inside of a cupboard. They are out of the way and untangled. But I don’t have heavy duty cords, just ear buds and chargers.

    To help with storing cables I usually put a rubber band around them so that they don't tangle. I also label them with a label maker :)

    Hello Katrin!
    If you love boxes so much, maybe you could get some nice ones from Ikea like the Kvarnvik boxes. They have them in different sizes and colours and they are perfect for storing camera equipment or cables of all sorts - and for extra points - they look nice and it doesn't look messy at all. Or - as someone already mentioned in the comments - you could get space in a draw for them. And maybe these little baskets where you keep your socks etc. in from Ikea could be useful for camera equipment and cables as well to keep them separate and organized. :)
    It's always very satisfying watching decluttering videos and declutter in the own home as well. It's so freeing. :) And I was very excited to see you doing a full week of videos on it! But I have one question: Why do you put stuff in die attic? Is it stuff that you don't need anymore? Then why don't get rid of it at all, if you are not using/wanting it in your flat now, will you ever want it out or use it? Just curious. :)
    Have a good one and enjoy the rest of your 2017 and have a wonderful start into 2018! :)
    Lots of Love, Scarlett.

    I’m waiting to buy some Q-knots to keep my cords organized so I use empty toilet paper rolls in a plain media box that I think is meant for DVD’s.
    And I know it’s obnoxious when you get a tiny item in a huge box, but company’s reuse boxes they receive back from returns to reduce the number of new boxes they put out, so it’s actually kind of cool.

    Companies send small stuff into big boxes to avoid them from being lost. For example, an USB stick in a small box could easily drop from the loading machine and no-one would notice ^^
    (I did ask them cause it bugged me ^^)

    • @Katrinberndt
      @Katrinberndt  7 лет назад +1

      Haha yeah I get that, but sending a 30 cm x 10 cm x 5 cm box inside of a 60 cm x 40 cm x 30 cm box is a bit much!

    For storing your cables, you might want to buy/diy a cable roll to keep all of the cables in one spot, or maybe use one of those IKEA boxes you had for you drawer in the bedroom to store all the cables in the top drawer. (if you want to make your own cable roll, the Sorry Girls have a pretty good tutorial that's super quick to make!)

    • @nataliamaliga

  • @ZEST.bybelle
    @ZEST.bybelle 7 лет назад +1

    Try to make use of vertical space, especially above the camera stuff, i find that if i store things verticallg there is less clutter everywhere and way more floor space, you could get some shelves for super cheap and small-is organisation boxes(still aesthetic) and label them and put them on the shelves

    I use empty toilet rolls to put my cables and wires in! that way i can also write on them, so that I know what the cable is for :) and i cut a little slit on each end, to hold the cable in place! Or if that wont work, an elastic band!

    Nibbles has a pretty good system of organizing in drawers that I use too. She has a video on it here ruclips.net/video/NQqptwciIAU/видео.html but the camera bit Isn't until about 2:30. Hope this helps! Places like Ikea or Target (idk if you have that in Sweden) might have something similar already made to pop on top of a dresser or in a drawer too.
