It is sexy how pilots landing at this airport always still have a lot of runway to spare despite a 4,900 foot long runway and that they are using turbojet airliners
MegaAirplanelover I know, I watched one with an avrojet Rj 85, and according to google earth, he only used 1800 feet. The amazing thing is, that at a “normal” airport, that’s usually your touchdown point, not full stop point. A couple in the US that have short runways are key west, and Orange County.
United 1 I did even though it's the older 2-2 configured. But the fact that the plane is entirely kitted out in Business, it's like flying on a private jet!
Superb video.. lovely shots!! But that announcing air hostess/ stewardess in the end kind of spoilt the high that I was getting watching the video ......with her ... sorry to say ..really badly made good bye announcement...... someone commented that she seemed tired ( not professional BA.. please note..).. my personal opinion ( and others may disagree.. that's fine)..she sounded like she had been helping herself to the liquor on board during the duration of the flight.. almost slurring..long gaps between words.. BA needs to note this and take action... anyways.. thanks for sharing!!!!!
Good video.....was that Belmarsh Prison l saw. Would love to know the costs of these flights are is it a case of.........if you have to ask the price you can’t afford it.
No, not at all. There was only 12 pax on the flight. No wonder BA is cutting back on their LCY/JFK service! Ps you should follow my insta feed @instaplanemania and my personal feed @tom_thetraveladdict 😀
flygwada971 I do think it's unprofitable especially now that BA has refused to pay for US preclearance at SNN rendering the second flight practically pointless west-bound.
It's an A318 but it's a 7:37 long video!
Great Catch
Lool
Lol
xD
Whoever landed that is a boss. Nice landing for the steep approach. Turning that thing around on the runway looks tight!
Excellent smoot landing and touchdown
Such a steep approach, they ride the speed brakes all the way in! Brilliant
Love The Lord thank you! The approach was spectacular!
Ok
Great video. I have done the departure from LCY. Must do the landing one day.
Enjoyable video. The amount of traffic volume in such a limited space with 1 short runway seems quite extraordinary!
Check the flight spoilers extended right up to the touchdown! That’s always rare to see
Indeed! It's such a shame that A318 is now gone from BA's fleet. It was such a unique flight.
Airline flying fascinates me! I haven’t flown anywhere in years!
Big airports as well!
Hope you get to fly soon!
@@heatherfrench8451Fly a quick trip on breeze airways or allegiant if you are in the US, they are quite reasonable prices!

Here you can see spoilers 3 and 4 retract to 8 degrees from 30 degrees 3:52 at 85 feet AGL. Amazing steep approach.
what's the purpose for doing so?
@@KuostA Didn't find too many discussions about this. I'd assume it's for reducing the sink to prepare for a flare as well as a potential go around.
Beautiful video! Although the approach from the western side is even better! I'm jealous of anyone who can afford to fly on this flight.
idiot
James Homology ?
The prettiest a320 variant by far. Shame it was a relative commercial failure. Sweet aircraft.
fingerhorn4 Yes! Such a shame only a few airlines took them up, like the B737-600s.
1:24 Airbus's steep approach system raises a couple spoilers on each side. Exclusive to the A318
Nice view of hmp belmarsh 3.17
Totally different landing than ryanair.
First time I have ever seen the spoilers up almost all the way by an airline pilot.
The plane does it automatically when selecting LCY as the landing airport in the FMC
@@visionist7 not quite. You elect the function using a steep approach push button and deploying the spoilers as you join the glide path.
@@peteconrad2077 is the button on the overhead panel?
@@visionist7 yes. It’s where the N1 buttons would be on a V25 powered 320.
How did you like the business class?

Always a fascinating flight to travel on.

An empty delta 772 landed at ORD using only 3000 feet!! Maybe if it were here it would’ve been eventful!
Infinite Flight California That’d be cool to witness
Tom - The Travel Addict - here’s the video!! ruclips.net/video/gFpEZqG-gHM/видео.html - credit goes to Jay’s O’hare Aviation!
Infinite Flight California that’s crazy awesome!!!!
Such a tiny aircraft lol, I’m surprised it’s not considered as an express flight.
Good video.....was that Belmarsh Prison l saw. Would love to know the costs of these flights are is it a case of.........if you have to ask the price you can’t afford it.
It costs 5k one way
the only ba route with the a318
That was butter
Wait, why there's another A318? British Airways only operate 1 A318.
Davian Efananda Wen 2 A318’s
Bradley Jones one (GEUNB) was leased off to Titan a few years ago.
Was the flight busy??

Tom Huang 12 passengers, that's not a profitable route anymore, as they are cutting 2 services down..

@@tom_thetraveladdict why does them refusing to pay for that render the 2nd flight pointless? jw.

Hahah! True....this flight was operated by LGW based crew and they are typically more relaxed!
howso? just wondering.
